        Charlotte Hosts the NY Knicks

Similiar colors, but different franchises. The Bobcats host one of the NBA's oldest teams, the New York Knicks. The Knicks have been looking good so far, and hope to continue their early season push for an early Atlantic Division lead.

The Bobcats were able to keep it close, thanks to the offensive aggressiveness of Tamar Slay, who went to work on Allan Houston in the first half. New York had it's own young gunner themselves, however, and his input was a lot more meaningful for his team than Slay was for the Bobcats.

Marbury had one of his hottest nights, absolutely buring Brevin Knight and Jason Hart, two Bobcats who were TRYING to guard him. Marbury finished with 42 points and 10 assist on terrific 18-26 shooting. The Bobcats were not able to stop him, which lead to a 106-90 defeat at the hands of the Knickerbockers.

        Charlotte Bobcats
Tamar Slay 24 points, 11/18 shooting, 4 rebounds
Darius Songaila 12 points, 9 rebounds

        New York Knicks
Stephon Marbury 42 points, 18/26 shooting, 10 assist
        Allan Houston 16 points

4-8 is a decent start. I think I was 3-9. Then it went south. I was 8-27 until my recent 3 game win streak. Keep us updated on the Cats

                Injury Bug

Eddie House will miss roughly two weeks of action with a strained groin, which was diagnosed after the Nets game.

Darius Songaila will also miss some time, 4 weeks, with a strained bicep which happened after the game against New York, in practice.

Tough losses of Songaila and House. Any chances of picking up a FA or making a trade to compensate?
As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"

                            Charlotte Begins West Coast Spin

The Charlotte Bobcats go West Coast and start a 4-game swing against the likes of the Clippers, Kings, Suns, and Warriors. Melvin Ely was celebrating a personal homecoming game against his former ball club who let him go.

In the first half, both teams played well, and gave the Staples Center crowd a good game to watch. Marko Jaric was running the ball well, and spread the ball. The Clippers ended with 5 players in double-figures scoring.

Charlotte went inside early and often. Melvin Ely was on the glass early, and was the catalyst of the game.

In the second half, Charlotte shot the rock considerably better, and hit the offensive glass even better. With 2 minutes left, Charlotte played great defense to sustain their lead, and hit key free throw shots as well. Charlotte hangs on to win, 90-83.
