Emeka Has a Serious Test against Minnesota

Emeka Okafor gets one of his first serious test in the NBA against another big man who has such prestigious credentials. Kevin Garnett looks to come into the Charlotte and teach the young fellow a message.

Emeka played very good defense against Garnett for the game, but it was the revamped guard rotation that would hurt Charlotte. Troy Hudson got into early foul trouble, therefore Cutty Mobley showed off his point guard skills alongside Spree and Wally. The result was positive.

From a defensive standpoint, Cuttino Mobley, coming over from Orlando for Sam Cassell played a great game, and forced plenty of turnovers from Charlotte's guard. Shooting and turnovers were the biggest factors, and Charlotte lost both battles. Charlotte drops another game to a West foe, 103, 86.

        Charlotte Bobcats
Gerald Wallace 23 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals
Eddie House 14 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assist, 8 turnovers
Emeka Okafor 8 points, 8 rebounds

        Minnesota Timberwolves
Troy Hudson 19 points, 5 assist
Cuttino Mobley 16 points, 6 assist
Latrell Sprewell 17 points, 8 rebounds
Kevin Garnett 6 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assist

                Orlando Gets Ran At Home

The two worst Southeast Division clubs face off in the TD Waterhouse Center. Orlando is fresh off of a trade that got them Sam Cassell, in which they hope will help them beat teams with a potent backcourt.

This game was over after the first 3 buckets off the game. Wallace got to the hole and layed it in, then hit a short jumpshot, followed by a 3-pointer. Jason Hart assisted all of these buckets, along with 7 more in the first quarter for a total of 10 assist in the first quarter. Charlotte shot the ball better than they have all year, and the Magic just couldn't keep up with Charlotte's offensive onslaught.

At the half, Charlotte was up big, 61-42.

Although Sam Cassell had a good Magic debut with 29 points and 10 assist, Charlotte ran away with this one. On a posivitive note for Orlando, Cassell and Francis looked good in the same backcourt, proving doubters wrong, at least for this game.

Jason Hart had his first career triple double, and recorded the first in Bobcats franchise history.

Charlotte wins in a blowout, 120-93.

                Charlotte Bobcats
Jason Hart 16 points, 20 assist, 10 rebounds
Gerald Wallace 30 points, 13-19 FGs
                Eddie House 20 points, 6 assist, 4-6 3point FGs
Jason Kapono 18 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assist
Emeka Okafor 14 points, 8 rebounds
Darius Songaila 12 points, 8 rebounds

                Orlando Magics
Sam Cassell 29 points, 10 assist
Steve Francis 22 points, 5 assist
Pat Garrity 14 points, 11 rebounds

Man, you gave the Magic all they could handle. With them playing like this in your inaugural season you can only expect much better things for the future.

Yeah you're right. With the emergence of Jason Hart, Kapono and Wallace, I was looking to draft Chris Paul or JR Giddens, but I dont know about that now.

I'd still go for at least one of them.. a duo of Paul/Giddens and Okafor would be lethal for years to come.. Jason Hart, Kapono, and Gerald Wallace can only take you so far..
