    First Conference Loss is Lopsided

    First Conference Loss Is Lopsided
The Wildcats go to Hampton to play their very first MEAC conference game under Coach Jay Bolden. Coach realized that a player that he coached against back in North Carolina, Adrian Woodard, made it to Hampton University as a wing player.

Bethune-Cookman came out and played decent, but it wasn't long that an offensive drought combined with a defensive lapse ultimately did in the Wildcats. The lead got to 20 real quick. The Wildcats oft threat to turn the game around, but every run they had was counteracted by a big play that got the crowd hyped.

Diondre Larmond did what he could to keep this game close with 20 points and 3 assist. Hampton just shot the ball better, and outrebounded the Wildcats 28-19. Size was the key. Hampton wins 62-42.

    Bethune-Cookman Stats
    Field Goal Percentage 37
    Rebounds 19
    Assist 11
    Larmond 20 points, 3 assist

    Hampton Stats
    Field Goal Percentage 55
    Rebounds 28
    Assist 19
    Green 16 points
    Granger 12 points, 9 assist
    Brown 5 points, 9 rebounds

    Next Game @ Norfolk State 0-4 (0-1)

Hopefully Norfolk St. can get some wins in your legacy. Keep me posted on how they're doing. Well, I can already see that I'm doing better with them than the computer is. After 4 games I was 2-2.

BCC wins their First Conference Game

Wildcats Flip The Script On The Road

After a disappointing and embarassing loss to Hampton, Coach Bolden knew that the problem was offensive gas, and planned to make the difference in the game against Norfolk State. They practice on running their offensive sets all week, and continued to get comfortable moving the ball around an ultimately into the paint for buckets.

Offense is just what the doctor ordered, and the Wildcats came out of the gate with an early 11-2 lead, and never looked back. The played a "40 Minutes of Hell" type of defense and it definitely paid off. Bolden called an early Full Trap Man Press that led to turnovers and easy buckets.

The lead got as big as 25 points, but the Norfolk State Spartans fought back to get the lead under 10. It was too late, however, and BCC wins their first conference game under their new coach, 53-45.

O'Neal Carter has openly expressed that he loves playing for his new coach in his senior year, and knows that the team has a bright immediate future with Bolden as the head man.
