Sweet Sixteen

United Center - Chicago, Illinois
The defending National Champions, the Connecticut Huskies, took on #1 seed Marquette in a very intriguing Sweet 16 matchup.
In the beginning, it was all Huskies. Experienced played a big role in UConn's huge lead at first, as Rashad Anderson and Charlie Villanueva killed the Golden Eagles. However, all of that changed - and it changed quickly. Marquette soon learned how to break the press of the Huskies, and everytime, Travis Diener was left wide open for three. By the end of the half, Diener had racked up 30 points and led his team to a 15 point lead.
The second half saw the Marquette lead grow even more, and the Golden Eagles once led by 20 points. However, Rashad Anderson would have none of that, and started draining threes left and right, as well as setting up teammated for easy buckets. The Huskies battled back to within three with a minute left in regulation, and resorted to fouling. After the foul shots, the Huskies just couldn't come up big when they needed to, giving Marquette the 88-80 victory.
