    The Big Dance

    Austin Regional

This is also a very talented regional, featuring Arizona, Louisville, Florida, Illinois, Duke, North Carolina, and Memphis. In all the years the 64 field has been around, not many have seen a bracket this loaded. This regional is WIDE OPEN, and any of these teams could take it. Nobody would be surprised if a Final Four team came out of this bracket.

        Chicago Regional

This regional isn't nearly as tough as Austin's, but is no slouch, either. It features the C-USA champions Marquette, Connecticut, Syracuse, Texas, Virginia, Maryland, and Notre Dame. Although the Golden Eagles are favored to win this bracket, all of these teams are threats to go far in the tourney.

UCLA has a chance to get past the first round in one of your legacy's.

Unlike with LSU when Manhattan beat them.

This is probably the weakest regional in this years field, but again, they're still good. Michigan State is a very strong team, and is going up against Wisconsin, Mississippi State, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Seton Hall, George Washington, and Michigan in this bracket.

lol - Manhattan is a good team, though..

Either way, I'm sure UCLA can pull out the win against E. Tenn. St.

Sixteenth seeded Texas of San Antonio took on the high and mighty Marquette Golden Eagles, hoping to become the first #16 to ever win in the NCAA tournament.

Early on, it looked as if the Roadrunners had a chance to do just that. Guards Raphael Posey and Justin Harbert were on fire from the perimeter, and the Marquette defense couldn't keep up. However, as good as the Roadrunners were, the Golden Eagles were that much better. Travis Diener had another huge game for Marquette, and dropped 25 points in the first half. At halftime, Marquette held a big lead.

The second half lasted forever, and it seemed as if the game would never end. The Golden Eagles pulled away behind the leadership of senior Diener, and won big, 86-46.

                            NCAA Tournament

The Marquette Golden Eagles took care of their first round game pretty easily, putting away Texas-San Antonio by 40 points. In the second round of The Big Dance, the Golden Eagles square off against another C-USA team, the UAB Blazers. The Blazers are a good, very athletic squad, and can pose problems for Marquette.

"They're good, there's no denying that," senior point guard Travis Diener said. "We took 'em out this year, though.. so we they're definitely beatable."

                            Stay tuned.

In the second round of the NCAA Tournament, two Conference USA teams squared off with the winner going to the Sweet 16. These two teams were the athletic UAB Blazers and the sharpshooting, fifth ranked, first seeded Marquette Golden Eagles.

From the get-go, this one was closer than close. The teams exchanged buckets the first several times up and down the court, and Marquette looked to be in big trouble when Travis Diener got into early foul trouble. The Blazers pulled away for awhile, but the Golden Eagles pulled to within two at halftime.

When Diener came back for the second half, the Blazers were the ones in trouble. He hit a couple of threes right off the bat, and sparked a huge Marquette run that put them in front of UAB. The Golden Eagles hung on, winning 67-60.
