Dwayne Lee who was averaging 18 points a game coming into last nights game, only shot 10% from the field and scored only 2 points, lowering his average to 14 a game. Dwayne Jones had another big game, although not quite a scoring threat yet, he had another huge defensive performance, blocking 5 shots and grabbing 9 rebounds, 3 were offensive. The Hawks have yet to have a game with less than 8 blocks and are averaging just over 10 a game. Both teams played close all night, but Pat Carroll's three pointer and Pat Calathes' free throws are what clinched the win. Saint Joseph's will now travel out west to compete in the Mutual Fund Shootout, which will take place in San Francisco, California. The games will be played at the War Memorial Gym, home to the San Francisco Dons. St. Joe's plays UC Irvine in the first round.

Great legacy so far Bearcatsfan. I'm actually liking this one more than your Cincy legacy. Pat Carroll is really stepping up. I hope he stays healthy...i don't think your team can survive without him.....

Good job on the recruiting so far....
Keep it up man. (I was actually born in South Philly, so I will be rooting for Temple when you play them. )

Thanks, if I do lose Carroll, I agree I wont be able to survive. He is usually 30-50% of the teams total points a game. As for recruiting, I am liking them as well, Cain looks great and I am currently looking at some others. Thanks for reading, and bring on Temple.

                          St. Joseph's - 32.8%

St. Joe's leads almost every catergory in the stat department, which will help their record alot when conference play begins in a couple weeks. The only weakness the Hawks have is they can hit slumps, and go cold from the floor at times. They have a decent field goal percentage, and need to work on moving the ball more to create open shots, even though they lead the A-10 in assists per game. The Hawks are one of the favorites to win the A-10 title this year and should make a strong case if they play like they have been so far this season.

                          Friday December 17th, 2004
                          The Philadelphia Inquirer

The Hawks have already landed Robin Cain and are still pursuing forward Leighton Baxter, but have now turned their attention toward a high school senior from Philadelphia, here is a breakdown.

                          Cesar Kummer
Shooting Guard - High School Senior

                          Rating:

                          Background:
                          Height - 6'3"
                          Weight - 188 lbs.
                          Age - 18
                          Hometown - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
                          Potential - Good

                          School Interest:
                          #1 Choice - Syracuse
                          #2 Choice - St. Joseph's
                          #3 Choice - Mayland

                          Strengths:
                          Hustle, Intelligence, Rebounding

                          Extras:
                          High School All-American

Kummer is yet another great guard out of Philadelphia, and another interested in St. Joe's as was Cain. Kummer is helping his high school team roll through opponents as they are undefeated in their season. Kummer's first choice is Syracuse, but he has shown some interest in Joe's. It's looking like the Hawks are trying to beef up on shooting guards, since Pat Carroll, the teams leading scorer is leaving after the current season. The Hawks starting power forward John Bryant will also be leaving after this year is over.

                            #2 Choice - St. Joseph's
                            #3 Choice - Mayland

                            Strengths:
                            Hustle, Intelligence, Rebounding

                            Extras:
                            High School All-American

Kummer is yet another great guard out of Philadelphia, and another interested in St. Joe's as was Cain. Kummer is helping his high school team roll through opponents as they are undefeated in their season. Kummer's first choice is Syracuse, but he has shown some interest in Joe's. It's looking like the Hawks are trying to beef up on shooting guards, since Pat Carroll, the teams leading scorer is leaving after the current season. The Hawks starting power forward John Bryant will also be leaving after this year is over.
