UMass looking great as they improve to 4-0
UMass use to be just abour Rashaun Freeman and Art Bowers. Now after the American game it has everyone in the nation talking about them. Umass had 4 players in double figures and 2 players with double doubles. Maurice Maxwell had 12 points 12 assist and Rashuan Freeman had 19 points and 12 boards. Coach Mx knew how important Maxwell was to the team as he played him in the 1st half with 3 fouls. He later went on to say " He is the complete package! Can handle the ball, score, and most of all play defense." Rashaun Freeman is coming off a horrible game against Airforce. Umass ended up winning the American game with ease 65-49

Umass losses OT thriller
Well the fans got what they bargained for. An Ot thriller in the Mullins Center. St Johnswas the sligh favorites as they showed it early jumping out to a 20-0 lead. Umass would chip at the lead and took the 33-30 half time lead. In the seconds half it was a sesaw battle the whole half. With 3 minutes left in the game and St Johns up 10 umass gave the ball to freeman who finishes with a season high 33 points. Umass then scored the go ahead bucket with 27.5 seconds left. St Johns took the ball and found an open Man to tie the game and send it into ot as umass coulnt score before the end of regulation. Umass scored first to grab the leaf. With about 2 minutes to go Rashaun Freemn had a ft to amek it a 3 point game and missed. St Johns never looked back even though Lawrence carrier hit a 3 to make it a 3 point game with 1 minute left. St Joes answerd rightback to make it a 6 point game and final.

One key to the minuetemen succes this seaosn was their abiltity to take care of the ball. their Pg Maurice maxwell only has 6 turnovers this season. coach Mx said " thats one of the reasons why we are 5-1
