The freshman played a huge, critical role for the Gators in their victory, scoring 51 of the Gators 103 points; 19 of the points were from the bench.

The game was an epic, high scoring affair, with both teams quickly exchanging baskets. However, with Anthony Roberson falling victim to foul trouble, just two minutes to the game, freshman, Taurean Green came on the court, on fire. He filled in big shoes with his court vision, finishing the game with 9 assists, as well as 11 points.

When Roberson came back on the court at the start of the second half, he was perfect- litarlly. He ended the game with 24 points and 5 assists. His 24 points came from 7 of 7 fieldgoals (2 of 2 from beyond the arc) and 8 out of 8 free throws; including the game clinching free throws in OT.

"It's great knowing that players can come in for me and still keep the up-tempo game we have," said Roberson.

Player of the Game: Anthony Roberson

Other freshmen notables were Corey Brewer, Joakim Noah, and Al Horford. Brewer scored his usual points on his high shooting percentage- that being 19 on 9 for 14 shooting. Noah, their recent surprise at the starting center position, scored 13 points and pulled down 9 boards, as well as collecting 4 steals. An Al Horford, the team's 10th man, scored 8 with 8 rebounds.

"Those guys certainly caught my attention," Coach Bro said, "They'll be getting some quality playing time in the next game."

The "veterans", David Lee and Matt Walsh, closed out the night with a solid performance. Walsh spent some time at the point guard position, with Green and Roberson out, and scored 16 points, handed out 6 assists, and pulled down 5 boards- while Lee remained quiet. Lee scored just 8 points to go with his 8 rebounds.

The Wolverines put up a great fight and provided for some entertaining basketball. In their valiant effort, Dion Harris scored a game high, 37 points with 18 of them from three-point land.

Courtney Sims, their center, scored 24 on 10/12 shooting from the field. Daniel Horton and Graham Brown finished with 23 points between them.

Florida is now 6-2 and plays Eastern Kentucky next.

Florida let the Eastern Kentucky Colonels hang with them for the first half, but ran away with it in the second half, cruising to a an 81-54 victory.

Corey Brewer, who has been a major surprise to the Gators organization, scored a game high, 21 points on 8 of 9 field goals. Matt Walsh followed behind him with 15 of his own, as well as 4 assists.

"He's a great player," Walsh said of Brewer, "He doesn't even look like a freshman." Fellow freshman, Joakim Noah, scored 8 and grabbed 9 boards. David Lee closed the game with 8 and 7 respectively.

Anthony Roberson, who struggled throughout the whole game, scored just 7 points on 3 of 14 field goals. He did, however, hand out 8 assists and grabbed 4 rebounds.

By the four minute mark of the game, Florida elected to put in their 12th man team. Mohamed Abukar led that team with 8 points and 4 rebounds.

For the Colonels, no player scored in single digit. Instead, many players bricked their way into a 33% field goal stat at the end of the game. Zach Ingles led the team with 9 points. Matt Witt closed out the game with 8 points and dished out 6 assists.

Florida rises to 7-2 and will play the Sam Houston State Bearcats one week from today.

Corey Brewer, who has been a major surprise to the Gators organization, scored a game high, 21 points on 8 of 9 field goals. Matt Walsh followed behind him with 15 of his own, as well as 4 assists.

Player of the Game: Corey Brewer
