Syracuse played the Fairfield Stags in what looked to be a blowout for the Orange. Syracuse came out extremely sloppy and never really got into a rhythm. Hakim Warrick was the only Orange player who played well. He finished with 26 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists, and a block. Gerry McNamara scored 17 but he shot an abysmal 36% from the floor. After the game, Coach Woodlock had this to say, "We didn't try our hardest out there, we deserved to lose. I feel sorry for Hakim [Warrick], he goes out there every game and gives his best and his teammates can barely help him out there."
