        Sweet header!

You can download MVPSavReader at mvpmods.com. Just go to the downloads section, and look under "Tools and Editors". The new version is supposed to have sortable stat columns, but for some reason its not working for me.

Nice series win over the Yanks! You'd think more people would've come out to see them. Geez, Wickman's ERA is lower for you than it was in my first season. His sinker is freakishly good! Not so much in 2006 though.

I got swept in Fenway (8-6, 3-2, 3-2). Very frustrating series. But we bounced back winning 2 of 3 in Seattle -- and I finally got to see some rain & the roof close! I don't know if I can continue playing all of my games. Its a blast on offense, but this will take several months to finish the season.

Re: My New Cleveland Indians (MVP 2005)

I uploaded my latest stats. Take a look at the linescore of my last game against the Yankees. What a way to avoid the sweep -- Hafner exploded with a grand slam in the 8th and a 2-run double to win it in the bottom of the 9th!

My pitching is a mess right now -- gave up 31 runs to the Yankees in a 3-game homestand. I recently turned off vibration & switched All-Star pitching meter difficulty from -23 to -37. So now the only pitching aid I use is hot/cold zones on fade. I don't really think I get much benefit from that one anyway... obviously. Team ERA has ballooned to over 5. At least Wickman has pitched better his last 2 outings.

This one's a good one to read. Good win in Tiger Stadium. Still cant believe those guys are in second place.

BTW edmus, thats one hell of a game, I mean damn, 11-10 and going down to the wire like that, good win.

For my pitching, I use -23 with pitch cursor off and hot cold/zones on fade also. It makes it more difficult and you might mix in some walks here and there also.

Re: My New Cleveland Indians (MVP 2005)

Nice to see you guys get a good team pitching performance. Did you wear the throwback jerseys too? I've always liked the 80's ones, but they just didn't get the 70's ones right. The colors (especially the blue) seem really off.

I turned off vibration because I wasn't giving up any walks, but that didn't help enough. Other than that I was getting a good variety of pitching performances with it at -23. I even pitched 6 2/3 innings of no-hit ball with Horacio Ramirez, the closest I've gotten to a no-hitter. Maybe I'll try somewhere between -37 & -23. -37 is tough -- I'm never sure where the pitch is gonna end up, and I seem to give up at least one hit every inning.

As for the comeback win... I had like 3 or 4 games in 2005 where I made a big rally in the 9th only to come up 1 run short. So I was really surprised I finally managed to win one. Best part of Hafner's double -- they were playing him to pull, and I hit a fly ball that just barely landed inside the LF foul line. I was practically doing the Carlton Fisk wave to get it to stay fair!

                        I'm still waiting Angel_Fan...

You're gonna think I'm making this up -- strange that the one trade we have in common keeps playing such an important role in my dynasty. Anyway, the Tribe suffered a big setback the other day. Hank Blalock is out for the entire season with a torn PCL. Injured when diving for a ball that he didn't have a realistic shot at getting -- my crappy fielding is now costing me more than just runs! Called up Peralta from AAA to take his place. So far he's hitting over .400, but is a definite downgrade defensively.

I may have to make some significant slider adjustments. I was averaging 6 runs a game. That was about tops for the league, but not too far out of line with Boston & Toronto doing about the same. But then I started playing the AL Central, and we scored 105 runs over 10 games! Travis Hafner is on fire! During that stretch he had two 8-RBI games, including one against the Twins where he went 6-6 with 4HRs! He's now 2nd in the league in BA & HR (.373, 14 HR) and is 1st in RBI with 48 in the first 39 games -- and I sit him vs. lefties!

Just wondering, what do you have your HUM & CPU contact/power sliders at? I'm using Pared's with 14 contact, 7 power for both. What about CPU ball rate? I need to double check but I think mine is 5 (again from Pared). You seem to draw an awful lot of walks compared to me. I think I hit a reasonable number of HRs. The problem is that everyone is over .300 and we almost always get 10+ hits a game. I had one game recently where we scored 18 runs on 29 hits.

I'm gonna try to update my stat pages soon, not that anyone cares.

PCL is the posterior cruciate ligament, its the one behind the knee. The ACL is in front of the knee. How do I know this? Google!

That was an ugly loss. That's a tough call with C.C. I'd almost consider sending him to the minors, because I'd rather have him upset the AAA clubhouse than the MLB one due to lack of playing time. You may want to consider trading him in the offseason, because you obviously don't know how to pitch with him! I don't know how to either, although I thought I had figured it out during the 2005 postseason. I give up a ton of HRs with him, on pace to give up around 50 in 2006.

I'm playing with an early roster set, and I notice that in URP 2.3, they increased the movement rating on C.C's curveball from 50 to 80. I don't know if its really that good, or if so many people were having trouble pitching with him they felt they needed to bump it up. I haven't changed it in my dynasty, but I did add a cutter to Cliff Lee's pitches recently after his ERA climbed to 9. He really does use the cutter IRL, so I don't think its cheap.

So did you see the slider questions in my previous post? I'm curious what you have yours at. Also, do you have the hitter's eye turned on or off? I use it, but starting to think it does give me too much of an advantage, especially vs. relievers that only have 2-3 pitches. I'm surprised I screwed this up, because I'm usually very careful entering sliders... but I was actually playing with Hum & CPU contact at 7 and power at 14 all this time, not the other way around. I just recently changed these to:

                              Hum Contact/Power = 0/7 (team's hitting .320+, had to do something)
CPU Contact/Power = 7/7 (CPU still hits a lot of HRs)

We just keep rolling with Blalock out, I think we've won 18 of the last 20! With contact at 0, its tougher for me to get 10+ hits, but we're still scoring a bunch due to clutch hitting. Probably also because we're playing the weak AL Central right now.

Ive already considered trading C.C. and I probably will when the offseason begins.

For my sliders, I use Pared's actually. Only thing I changed is the pitch speed slider, which I put at +50. Currently I have the hitters eye on, I occasionally turn it off when I play minor league games as I use those for experiment
