      Analyst Picks:

      Bob Costas
      Costas
This Jets team has beaten the defending champions in the divisional round, and won a hard-fought game over that tough Bills defense. The Falcons just barely got by the Packers, but then dominated the 49ers in NFC Championship Game... This game could go either way, but I'm going to go with the Falcons, I think the Jets losing Edwards hurts Sanchez more than you would think.

      Tony Dungy
      Dungy

This is a real tough game to call, they've both got great coaching, great chemistry. Both teams have younger quarterbacks with little playoff experience, good rushing attacks, and strong defenses, so we're looking at a very even matchup. This should go down to the wire but I just see New York coming out ahead thanks to some big plays on defense.

      Rodney Harrison
      Harrison
Everyone knows the saying, "defense wins championships," we learned that the hard way in Super Bowl XLII. Despite that offense we had, the Giants defense came with the gameplan to stop it and ended up beating us. So although the Falcons look to have the better offense, never underestimate the effect a defense like the Jets' can have.

      Peter King
      King
I really like this Falcons team, Turner has just been unstoppable this season and Ryan has been solid in his own right. Plus, that defense is just dangerous, you've got to love their linebackers. The Jets are a great team as well and this should be a fantastic game, but I see Atlanta coming out ahead.

      Dan Patrick
      Patrick
I'm going with the Jets. That defense is just too good at forcing turnovers, Sanchez should have a much better game than last week since they'll be indoors instead of in the snow.

The game actually froze on this screen when it was done, so in actuality this will not be the result of the game, but since I had already compiled the stats and pictures, we'll pretend it is. I will make sure that the sim at least has the Jets winning, though.

A Word from GM Tony Telford

            Posted on February 15, 2012 – 7:29 pm

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our loyal fans for their everlasting support throughout this past season. We were all witnesses to the growth and development of players that have comprised one of the most laughable NFL franchises in recent years. These players have now become part of a team that looks to be destined to do great things in the very near future.

Now that the season has come and gone, the players, staff, and front office will be taking a brief hiatus from football as a well deserved break for a job well done. However, we will soon get right back to work to continue leading this team in the right direction to bring home a championship.

In the meantime, if there's anything we can do for you as fans that would help you to want to come out to Tee Maker Motors Field and catch a game on Sundays, please let us know. We do this to make the fans proud.

            Regards,
            Tony Telford

What this means for OS/this franchise...
This "letter" was done partially to further enhance the immersion of this franchise, as well as a veiled look at what to expect moving forward.

Up next will be a document intended for team officials, shareholders, and staff that takes a look at what we accomplished this season, as well as what we look to accomplish this off-season. After that, there will likely be a few articles but the actual content of the franchise might take a little bit of time to pick up again, as I'm anticipating a change in my schedule. Rather than post things up in updates with less effort, I'll take time to stockpile a few completed updates and release them a little at a time at a steady pace.

The call for the fans is like a call to the people who follow this. I want to know what you liked about this season, what you didn't like, what you'd like to see more/less of and anything you'd like to see from this franchise that you haven't yet. I do all of this mostly to keep me entertained in the game and I enjoy doing it, but it doesn't hurt to have people following it so I aim to please and keep you all entertained as well.

Thanks for following, I hope you guys have enjoyed the first season!

This is one of my favorite reads on this forum. I would say just keep challenging yourself. I've really enjoyed watching the way things have evolved and the way you keep improving the presentation. I look forward to next season!

                Evaluation
This season saw us make great strides across the board. Our defense played with a tenacity we haven't seen this decade, the offense matriculated with a strong running game which opened our receivers up for big plays, and the overall theme of the team showed cohesion and determination. The results of this season let us know that we are undoubtedly headed in the right direction. I'm very proud of the way that we performed, but at the same time I realize we still have work to do.

                Rookie Assessment
                2011 Draft In Review

                2 (4) LT Vondray Neal
NealNeal has shown glimpses of the potential that prompted us to draft him with our first pick of the second round. However, he still needs to work on his footwork and fundamentals, as he was tied for the most sacks allowed on the team. With his size though, he should pan out to be a very solid NFL tackle, making him worth the second-rounder we spent on him.
                Pick Grade: B+
                2 (17) SS Lawrence Wilson
WilsonWilson had the misfortune of playing a position that we are already well stocked in, with both Jairus Byrd and Donte Whitner already established on the roster. Nonetheless, that didn't stop Wilson from making an impression on the coaching staff with his strong special teams play. Our focus this offseason will be on improving his coverage abilities to earn him more playing time on defense, as his tackling and hit power are already among the NFL's best. For a second rounder, we might have acquired a dominant safety and he may have made Whitner expendable.
                Pick Grade: A-
                3 (2) WR Jordunn Williams
WilliamsThus far in his career, Williams has been the most valuable in the return game. He used his speed, acceleration, and field vision to routinely give the Buffalo offense good field position. Towards the end of the season, he came along as a receiver, possibly benefiting from more defensive attention being spent on Dansby, Bonner, and Evans. If Williams can continue to refine his skills as a receiver, he could be a great offensive weapon in the future. In the meantime, he will likely supplant Parrish as our most dangerous returner.
                Pick Grade: B
                3 (4) WR Khamari Dansby
DansbyDansby has undoubtedly been the gem of our draft. The rookie of the year emerged quickly as a legitimate big play threat as a slot receiver. If he can improve his hands, he will be considered an elite NFL receiver in no time with his breakaway speed and crisp route running. Even if/when he becomes an elite receiver, we will likely try to keep him in the slot relegated to a Wes Welker role, as that's where his skill set seems to really flourish.
                Pick Grade: A

                Rookie Assessment
                2011 Draft In Review

                3 (17) LE Deontae Knight
KnightKnight saw limited time on the field, as the defensive line was crowded with veterans Stroud, Williams, and Edwards. When he did earn playing time, however, he showed an impressive knacking for beating the blockers to put pressure on the quarterback or make a tackle in the backfield. Knight could prove to be the steal of the draft if he earns a starting spot next year. He might allow us to move Stroud to DT and put him at LE.
                Pick Grade: A
                4 (4) RT Bobby Curl
Curl didn't see much playing time this season, earning most of his snaps as relief for a tired Brandon Keith. However, with Keith tying for the team lead in sacks allowed, Curl might have an opportunity to take the starting spot with a strong showing in training camp and preseason. That is, of course, if we don't bring in another veteran or draft a tackle early in the upcoming draft.
                Pick Grade: C+
                4 (17) ROLB Logan Ellis
EllisEllis spent most of the 2011 season as a contributor on special teams. Towards the end of the season, he did start earning some playing time on defense to relieve Aaron Maybin when fatigued, and played impressively using his speed to get to the quarterback or running backs in the backfield. He also played surprisingly well in coverage on passing downs. It will be interesting to see how his game develops and if he can eventually earn himself a more concrete role on the team.
                Pick Grade: B
                5 (4) TE Torri Bonner
BonnerWe got a real gem here in the later rounds. Bonner was a matchup problem for opposing defenses all season and consistently exposed them for a big play. Getting an Antonio Gates-like talent in the 5th round is an incredible bargain. With the weapons we have on offense I expect his productivity to continue, as defenses won't be able to allocate their focus to stopping him.
                Pick Grade: A
                6 (17) FB Trip Allen
AllenThis is one of the more difficult draft picks to gauge so far. While on one hand, Allen emerged as a viable check-down receiver for when our quarterbacks were pressured, as well as a 3rd/4th-and-short running option, his blocking shortcomings proved problematic at times. There were a handful of instances where he would blow a blitz pickup or fail to connect on a lead block. Hopefully this is an area of his game that he can improve in the offseason, otherwise we might have to bring in a blocking fullback to platoon with him.
                Pick Grade: B
                7 (4) CB R.T. Smiley
Smiley did not get very much playing time on defense. He proved to be adequate on special teams, particularly in punt coverage. Unfortunately, I don't foresee him ever being an every-down contributor on defense, but I would like to evaluate his performance in training camp and preseason to see if he might have some value as a nickel or dime-back in the future. Still, he was a 7th round pick so any contribution we get from him is nice.
                Pick Grade: C+

hmm for some reason the font on the schedule recap is larger than it was in the preview, so the formatting is all funky. weird, sorry about that

                  and thanks Nunyer!

After reading all through your Bills season... perhaps my favorite part (and I'm sure was not yours) was you comparing your quarterback play with the rookie your bills passed on... then a few weeks later, seeing Josh Johnson get NFL player of the week with the team (Chicago) you traded him to.

What kind of luck is that?

Awesome presentation. I need to learn HTML, I love the smaller box score template.

Thanks for the kind words guys! Just to let everyone know, I'm not done with this yet. I've been delayed by my NBA 2K11 my player story, work, and waiting for the old box score template to be put back on the table generator site. But I hope to continue with the offseason and pick this back up over the next few days. Might even finish the second half of my Franchise Evaluation report tonight

Now that the old style box score has been put up, as well as the draft recap and awards, I just might pick this up again soon. With the NFL season coming to a close I'm going to need my football fix again.

Cool, I have a Bills dynasty too. IN the 2nd season I'm 3-0. I signed Cromartie, Lloyd, and Tamme and I drafted Beal and Newton. Keep up the good work.
