I'm done with Dynasties until further notice.

Everyone, I know I've started 4 dynasties on here and failed to make it past a bowl game on any of them, so, I'm going to stop creating threads for stupid chise's lasting 3 weeks. I'm done with dynasties until I can get deep into one and have enough fun with it that I don't restart every other day. I will still be active in the community, follow/comment on dynasties, etc. My fellow OSers, that is all.

I wish everyone who does the exact same thing would follow your lead.

I play mine a season ahead so I know there is at least 1 more season to go. Maybe try something like that and if you quit then you won't be quitting in public lol...

I know what you mean.. I am one of those.. I wish that there was a delete topic button. I just don't have the time to sit down and play and create a story.

All of the dynasties i started on here I have continued with, I just can't continue to write about them.

What's sad Deuce is that some of the people that quit before a bowl game have compelling dynasties. I have started following some that end after 3, 4 games and it's sad because they are compelling to me and I wish the people writing them enjoyed playing them as much as I enjoy reading them.

Re: I'm done with Dynasties until further notice.

that is one thing I can say about mine that I am proud of. In the HISTORY of owning EA Sports NCAA games, I have never used a different school, or even played a game with a different school other than my Hokies. I stick with them through thick and thin, and allows me to establish a connection, and rapport with my team and school. I have made it 5 seasons on ncaa 11, and starting my 6th on Saturday, with no plans to stop any time soon. When NCAA 12 releases, I will start a brand new one with my Hokies, and keep that going as well.

I think truly finding the right sliders, and a team you can connect with is key. I also make my schedules at least an A in strength, and always start out my first game of the season against a different highly ranked opponent every season, and its always an away game to make it harder. I've established rivalries outside of what the game already recognizes, I've made coaching changes, etc. All of these things contribute to sticking with one school for my dynasty. I highly recommend before someone starts a new thread for a dynasty, to make sure all the pieces are in place, and you pick a team you know you will stick with.

One of the most annoying things is starting to follow a dynasty, and then all the sudden the person quits. It really kills the excitement.

Re: I'm done with Dynasties until further notice.

good move man. believe me, i was one of those people, i hav a great FIU chise that is into its 4th season and started it only 3 weeks ago, Here are some tips

                  1. Choose Team Wisely
This is the most important one. Spend a good 30-1 hour of actually THINKING about which team you want. I recommend going with your favorite team like I did with my Miami chise. You can go with a school(NCAA chises) that you will/have attended to or some of your family members have attended to. Like my FIU chise, both my cousins and probably me went there. If you pick a random team, which i highly dont recommend, fall in love with that team. Watch highlight reels, look at some of their training camp videos, or simply watch some of their games if you can so you can fall in love with them. I watch a lot of the Homecoming/Training Camp vid of the Golden Panthers.

                  2. Find a Clean, Simple Layout
Some people love Photoshop and yes it's cool, but the idea of spending 30-60 minutes for each game recap seems like a waste of time to me and a lot of people get tired of it and simply quit the chise. My layouts(check out my FIU chise) are usually quick, simple and informative. It takes around 10-15 minutes to do the OS tables, upload pic to EA Sports World and to write down a post game conference giving a player's/coaches point of view from the game. Keep a nice balance between text, stats and pic. Having a layout that doesn't consume time makes you more likely to do a game recap.

                  3. Don't Do It for the Views or Followers, Do It For Fun
A lot of people, me included, are obsessed with views and followers. Chances are that in the beginning of your chise people aren't gonna comment a lot. My first year with my FIU chise,I got like maybe 5-10 comments, im in my 4th year, and after each game, around 3-4 people comment about it. You need to forget about the views or the followers, and do it for the fun of it. In my FIU chise, I was dancing around when I finally beat FSU and got my first 4 star recruit. I didn't care if I had only 4-5 followers, I was having fun. Find a good playbook that makes you want to play the game, make the game fun, call a fake punt, do something to make it fun even though you don't have a lot of follower. I sometimes read through my own chise, just thinking about that tough loss to Clemson or that huge win over Boston College.

                  4. Be Original and Remember It's Your Chise
Last but not least, be original. You aren't gonna have 1,000 views if you just post game recaps. You are trying to please your readers so ask yourself, would I waste my time reading this chise?. Each chise's have their own special thing. My Miami one was known for its quick updates and my ability to do a season in a week-end. Deuce's take more time, are well written and are always great reads. Make people want to come to your chise because of what you provide them that no one else can. You have to make people want to follow your chise.

If you add all these things, you will get a special chise. Nothing is better than a special chise. Take a break. After killing a chise, don't just start a new one. Wait. Wait till you have this unresisting urge that just keeps coming. I knew when to start my FIU chise, I was watching bowl games over the Break and got chise fever. I made a chise, quickly it died, the legacy of Rod Woodson.
                  1. It was unrealistic
                  2. I didn't care for Stanford or Rod Woodson
                  3. I was doing it for the views

Then after a week or two, i realized that I was ready for a chise. I made one and it became a success. I hope this helped you guys.

Yeah, that's basically why I just quit trying for an NCAA 11 dynasty this year and just stuck with my CH 2K8 dynasty, which has been running for 2 years and 9 months now. Only dynasty I've really ever stuck with.
