Let me know what you think
note: I started this player career for a different site, but decided to post it here as well. The short story is that my player went undrafted to the Dolphins, his entire rookie season was on the Dolphins practice squad. He started the 2012 season as backup SS, but then took over as the starter after the bye week (I just simmed the games up until then). I have already finished out that season so I will be posting all those updates right off the bat one after another in the format I used there. Going into my 2nd season (which would by my player's 3rd Pro season...confusing I know) I will likely start using some of the charts and things provided by OS.

Jimmy Blade is currently a strong safety for the Miami Dolphins. He grew up in Illinois and played college football at Eastern Illinois University where he played middle linebacker. He was redshirted his first year with the program and came into his freshman season as the starting middle linebacker where he started all 11 games and was named to the 2nd team All-Ohio Valley Conference team. In his sophomore year he again started all 11 games and was named to the 1st team All-Ohio Valley conference team as well as setting a new single season tackling record for Eastern Illinois University. Two games into his junior year he suffered a torn ACL that ended his season. He was poised to make a comeback heading into his senior season but was caught up in a bar fighting incident. He faced assault charges and the team decided to suspend him indefinitely, the assault charges were later dropped.
Blade was thought to be a third day draft prospect with great potential before his injury and incident. He was one of the fastest and most tenacious linebackers on any level of college football, though he sometimes struggled in coverage. Another concern was that he is a bit undersized to be a successful linebacker and it’s unsure that he can make the transition to safety in the NFL due to his lacking coverage skills.
Jimmy went undrafted in the 2011 NFL draft. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Miami Dolphins but suffered a high ankle sprain early in camp that hindered him from playing in the preseason. He spent the 2011 season on the Dolphins practice squad.

Blade showed enough in camp to earn the backup strong safety position behind Yeremiah Bell. In the Dolphins first 6 games of the season Blade recorded 18 tackles, 1 sack, 1 interception, 3 pass deflections, and 1 fumble recovery, despite his limited role. Though he struggled during passing situations (11 catches allowed) the coaching staff decided to work him into the starting strong safety role during the bye week to spell the aging Yeremiah Bell.
