Jaguars Release McCluster and Martin

Today the Jacksonville Jaguars have released WR Dexter McCluster and HB Glasco Martin.

Releasing McCluster is a shocker since he was one of the teams big free agent signings. McCluster was expected to help in the return game and compete for the slot position with Ace Sanders but Sanders stepped up to the plate and has outplayed McCluster throughout camp and the preseason. It also didn't help McCluster that rookie Jordan Matthews and 2 year receiver Stephen Burton also outplayed him.

UDFA Glasco Martin was a long shot to make the team anyway but he did preform well in the few carries he got in the preseason. If he doesn't get picked up by a new team through the waiver wire, expect him to sign with the Jaguars practice squad.
