Re: Run Like Hell - The Legend of Dillon Powers

    "Dillon. Dillon! Dillon wake up!"
"Ugh. **** me." Dillon mumbled as he slowly awoke from his daze.
"Are you ok babe? You had us all freaking out." Elisha said with a genuine look of concern, placing her hand on his forearm.
"Yeah. I'm alright." He lied as he struggled to sit up, a pounding headache making it's presence known.
"You were really upset and you just kept drinking and you wouldn't stop!" She said, fighting back tears.
"Yeah. Parker. Pablo ****ing Parker." Dillon said with disgust in his voice.
    "What did he do?"
    "Took my job."
"You outplayed him all preseason. Anyone can see that."
"They posted the depth chart for the game yesterday, he's the starter."
"That's bull****!" Elisha shouted, causing Dillon to wince.
    "Yeah." Dillon deadpanned.
"What are we going to do?"
    "What do you mean?"
"You should be starting, not Parker."
"All I can do is make the most of the playing time I do get."
"You shouldn't have to. Don't they remember what you did last year?"
"It doesn't matter now. The past doesn't matter. It's a 'what have you done for me lately' league. Always looking for the next big thing."
"That sucks. I'm sorry babe." Elisha said as she wrapped her arms around Dillon.
"Whatever. It'll work out." He said, not believing himself.
"How are you feeling? Is that the first time you got drunk?"
"I feel like ****. Yeah I've never drank that much before."
"Aww poor baby." She said with a pouty face. "I'll take care of you."
"You're the best." He replied, forcing a smile.
"You need fluids, be right back."
She got up and headed to the kitchen. Dillon admired her bra and panties clad body as she walked out.
"Damn!" He thought to himself. Dillon had always done alright with females but being a professional athlete had bumped him way up in the pecking order. He smiled and closed his eyes as he laid back down.

Re: Run Like Hell - The Legend of Dillon Powers

"Welcome back to the game. Kansas City leads Miami 39-15 as we start the fourth quarter. Dolphins runningback Pablo Parker was down on the field as we left for the break and he's headed to the locker room. We'll continue to monitor that situation."

"Dillon Powers with another carry and it's a gain of 10. Powers is really fired up. He looks good out there."

"So with that final kneel down Kansas City gets the win and Miami will drop to 2-3 on the season."

"So where are we at with Parker?"
"Well the results from the MIR aren't in yet but the med staff is leaning toward a torn MCL."
        "****. How's Powers?"
"He's great, been practicing really well and he's fresh."
"Good. Tell him he's starting against Dallas."

Re: Run Like Hell - The Legend of Dillon Powers

          "Powers. Powers!"
Dillon was startled by the voice as he pulled off his headphones. He spun around and saw the Dolphins runningback coach.
          "What's up coach?"
"Parker is out, you're starting in Dallas. Make the most of it."
"Ok. Thanks Coach." Dillon responded, hiding his excitement. He had been stuck behind rookie Pablo Parker since week one and he knew this was his shot. If he stepped his game up he could regain the starting job for good.

Dillon pulled out his phone and sent out a text to Reggie, Elisha and his mom.

"Getting the start in Dallas, time to get my job back."

          ---

"Yo D!" Reggie shouted as Dillon entered the living room.
"What's up man?" Dillon asked as he extended his hand for their handshake.
"Time to put in work. Gonna tear that Dallas defense UP!"
"That's the plan. Make 'em remember who I am."
"Hey baby!" Elisha said with a smile as she entered the room and gave Dillon a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. "I can't wait for the game!"
"Well you guys will get to see it in person cause I got tickets." Dillon said as he produced three tickets from his pants pocket.
"Nice!" Reggie said as he stood up and high-fived Dillon.

Re: Run Like Hell - The Legend of Dillon Powers

"...and with rookie Pablo Parker out 2nd year runningback Dillon Powers gets the start."
"Yeah and it shouldn't be a big drop off in talent. If you remember Powers had a really good season as a rookie before an injury cut it short."
"Yeah almost 1,500 yards, 14 touchdowns. AFC offensive rookie of the year. Not a bad resume."
"Yup. Then Parker fell to the Dolphins at the 19th pick and he's been the starter all season."

            ---

"Tannehill under center, Jones directly behind him and Powers is the deep back."
"Tannehill takes the snap and it's a toss right to Powers. He's got some space!"
            "He could be gone!"
"Fifty, forty, thirty, twenty, ten, five, touchdown. Sixty-six yards for Powers and boy does he look fresh out there."

            ---

"Powers scores again and that's three touchdowns and he's now over 200 yards."

            ---

"Tannehill in trouble and he lobs one to Powers, he hauls it in and that's gonna be a touchdown. Powers now with three rushing scores and a receiving score to go with them."

            ---

"Powers takes it up the middle, jukes one defender and bounces it outside."
            "He could score here."
"Powers all alone and he's gonna score again, a fifty yard run and his fourth rushing touchdown of the day."
            "I think that's the record."
"It is. Powers has surpassed the NFL single game rushing yardage record, he now has 326 yards and he's passed Adrian Peterson's record of 296, set in 2007."
            "I don't think he's done yet."

            ---

"So with that the game comes to an end. Miami all over Dallas 52-20. Dillon Powers with an incredible game. 397 yards and five scores rushing, five receptions for 100 yards and a score. Plus over 100 yards in kick and punt returns. Incredible."

            ---

"Man **** Parker. I don't care if he comes back, you earned the job today." Fullback Greg Jones said, extending his fist to Dillon.
"Thanks man, couldn't have done **** without you and the hogs." Dillon replied as he bumped his fist against Jones'.

Re: Run Like Hell - The Legend of Dillon Powers

Elisha arched her back and dug her finger nails into Dillon's chest.
"Mmmm, Dillon." She moaned with pleasure.
She gyrated her hips a few more times and let out a gasp as they finished in unison.
She collapsed onto him and slid to his side, draping one leg over him and resting her head on his shoulder. He held her tightly.
They laid there for several minutes, enjoying the moment in silence.
"Where do you think you'll be in five years?" She asked, looking into his eyes.
"Wow. That's a tough one. Could be anywhere. Hopefully still playing ball."
"Here? In Miami?" She asked with a hopeful tone.
"I dunno. They're pretty high on Parker. He'll be back in a few weeks and my contract is up after the season."
"Oh." She replied, not hiding her disappointment.
                  "Anythings possible."
"I think it will all work out."
                  "Oh yeah? Why's that?"
                  "I just do. Trust me."
Dillon pulled her closer and kissed her on the forehead and they drifted off to sleep in each other's arms.
