Re: The Career of J.D. Clark (NCAA 14)
The real Vandals are gonna be calling any minute for advice. It's crazy (I had to look this up) that in 73 years of existence, Idaho has never been ranked. Granted they've only had seven seasons where they've won more than six games and only 18 seasons where they've finished with a .500 record or better (sports reference is bookmarked on my browser lol).
Lawson has been masterful, though I know you miss Filoteo in the backfield. The somewhat backfield by committee hasn't done bad.My Dynasties

Great to see you back old friend....That boy Eric Lawson is looking like vintage Drew Brees. Love those stat lines he's putting up thus far.
Also love the way you're using Montgomery. I am a big fan of backs catching passes out of the backfield; it really adds a lot to an offense.
Fantastic start to the season and I am looking forward to having you around here again.Click here to read my dynasty report:

Operational Note Still tweaking things as always, I wanted to do more writing about the dynasty instead of just entering Top 25 polls all the time, so I'm looking at alternative weekly updates.Comment

Re: The Career of J.D. Clark (NCAA 14)
Week 3 Update
Losses for top teams starting to trickle in
Ohio State (1-1) bounced back with a handy 48-23 win against Oklahoma (0-1) after
losing to Idaho in week 1. #11 Nebraska (1-1) had a stinker in a 7-23 loss to up and
coming #18 Tennessee. Mississippi State lost to #3 Michigan in the opening week but
bounced back and had a 42-20 victory over #16 Auburn.
Opening week #2 Georgia is 0-2 and had a particularly devastating loss to Mountain
West opponent Fresno State in week 2, after losing to #13 South Carolina in week 1.
It could be an ugly season for UGGA.
UCLA, ranked #4 to start the season, is completely out of the Top 25 thanks to a
more than a little disappointing start that included back-to-back losses to Rutgers and
Memphis. They beat Stanford 42-21 in week 3, but it wasn't enough to convince the
pollsters of their potency moving forward.
Coaches on the Hot Seat
Coaches that are said to be on the hot seat include Chris Peterson at USC, Bobby Wilder
at West Virginia, Shannon Dawson at Troy, Derek Mason at Kent State, and James Franklin
at Tulane.
In the Mountain West, Kevin McGiven (7 years at USU, 15-23) is starting to feel a little
warmth beneath his seat. Tommy Tuberville, 10-17 at New Mexico has a 7-year contract
so may get quite a bit of leeway.
After Bye Week, Idaho hosts CSU to start Mtn West Play
Colorado State will make the short trip to Spokane, WA and drive down to face the
Vandals in Moscow this week. Colorado State (1-1) lost to rival Colorado by three
points (31-34) in the opener, and beat USF 35-20 last week. CSU has talent, including
88 OVR DT Josh Lovingood but they do not have the type of field spreading skill
position talent that typically gives the Vandals fits. In fact, they may have the slowest
wide receiver personnel in the league. They have some talent in the secondary, but
they are not predicted to be able to keep the Vandals high-scoring offense in check
for the entire game.
Idaho terror, QB Zack Greenlee just warming up down in the Valley
Lest wins against Ohio State and Wake Forest make them too confident, the Vandals
have something they can think about to keep them humble: They've never figured out
a way to slow QB Zack Greenlee. Playing a game of "anything you can do I can do
better," Greenlee showed up Eric Lawson's effort the first two weeks with an amazing
showing in a 45-31 victory against Georgia. See below for stats.
The weekly report will include Mountain West scores and standings beginning next week.
This week's Heisman watch illustrates how incredibly pointless it is and why it will not always
be included on the weekly update. A guy enters the Heisman race by "racking up" 47 yards
and one TD against an FCS midwest team? Are you kidding me?Last edited by Hellisan; 07-04-2016, 03:20 PM.Comment

Re: The Career of J.D. Clark (NCAA 14)
Week 4 Update
Top 14 teams with games get a win
Of the Top 14 teams in the Top 25 last week, none lost, and only one of the Top 20
teams posted a loss. The honor went to Georgia Tech, with had a tough draw as
they traveled to Tallahassee to open their season in the fourth week of the season.
Not exactly the way you draw it up as they will have no true "bye weeks" this year.
Dante Hamilton and Penn State beat Nebraska
Things are looking up for the #18 Penn State Nittany Lions. They traveled to Lincoln
to face Nebraska and came away with an impressive 28-11 victory. Sometimes a
victory can be even more impressive when a team dominates the score and yardage
battles while losing the turnover battle 4-2.
The nation's longest home winning streak belongs to....
The Houston Cougars, who have won their last 15 home contests. The Cougars are
not the most prestigious team in the world but have made a good showing early in
the year, starting out 2-0 before falling at #2 Oregon, 31-38. Nothing to be
ashamed of.
The Game of the Week is being played in Starkvegas
#1 LSU takes their road show carnival to Starkville, MS where they will face off
against the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Kirk Herbstreit raised more than a few
eyebrows when he picked the Bulldogs to win the game, "and handily." MSU does
have an edge in most statistical categories, and it will be interesting to see how
they handle the pressure.

Wow you have these boys rolling through the competition!
Nice to see Montgomery getting it done on the ground. Still can't say enough about Lawson's performance thus far in the early season.
Eric Mitchell went nuts. It's rare you see that sort of production from the interior in this video game series.

So happy to see you back my good friend. I can honestly say you have been very missed. I love your work and this project.
Look at that start! If I were the Idaho A.D. I would have a statue commissioned now and a bust of your head on my desk. Lawson is playing like a man possessed. I see you all cruising for a while here until you meet Boise State.
Love the addition of the stories to the around the league look each week. Definitely adds a second layer of depth.

Re: The Career of J.D. Clark (NCAA 14)
Week 5 Update
LSU Loss, Oregon domination equal #1 ranking for Ducks
LSU Loses
It was billed as the Game of the Week, and what a game it was as the Miss. State
Bulldogs held off #1 LSU in overtime in Starkville in front of a packed house of
raving lunatic State fans. This was a game where both passing attacks struggled
to get untracked. In this environment, the Bulldogs were able to get the win
partly by dominating on the ground. They had 332 yards on 57 carries, although
a fumble at a key moment hurt them. Fortunately for MSU, freshman kicker Kurt
Hicks blew it in overtime, missing a field goal and allowing the Bulldogs to kick a
walk-off game winner. In the end, State won 27-20 when senior QB Chris Massey
fired a 25-yard touchdown pass on the first play of MSU's possession.
Oregon Dominates UW
The Oregon Ducks put a 65-14 whipping on the fighting Sarkisians in front of a
half-full Husky Stadium. The hapless Huskies (1-3) allowed 565 yards of total
offense and 25 first downs, including 12-16 or 75% conversions on third down. The
#2 Ducks moved to #1 with LSU's loss. Oregon led 31-7 at halftime, and continued
to pour it on throughout the game as they usually do, scoring 24 points in the 4th
quarter.
#16 Badgers hand #7 Ohio State their Second Loss, 10-7
The rabid fans of The Ohio State University had to sit through their second loss of
this early season, and what made it worse was the yawner nature of the game.
Wisconsin outlasted the home team 10-7, and the Buckeyes were held completely
off the scoreboard until 6:46 left in the ball game when J.T. Barrett threw a 4-yard
touchdown pass. Wisconsin responded by stoning the Buckeyes twice more from
there on out, forcing a surprising 7 punts on the day.
Wake Forest threatening Top 10 again despite loss to Vandals
Rated well coming into the season, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons have shaken
off a disappointing loss in Moscow Idaho in their opening week to post three wins
in a row. The most impressive certainly was their latest, a 44-41 OT win against
Florida State. The Seminoles outgained the Deacons but lost three fumbles and
threw two interceptions and simply could not overcome all the mistakes in the
end, as they were forced to kick a field goal in overtime and watch Wake Forest
score the game-winning touchdown against a gassed defense.
A Weekend full of great games awaits in Week 6
Game of the Week
#16 Georgia Tech (1-1) at #4 Clemson (4-0)
Other Games
#2 Michigan (4-0) at #13 Wisconsin (3-0)
#17 Georgia (2-2) at #21 Tennessee (4-1)
#6 Notre Dame (5-0) at #5 Mississippi State (4-1)
#1 Oregon (4-0) at Stanford (2-3)
In the Mountain West
BYU (1-3) at #22 Boise State (4-0) - BYU looks to get season on the right track
Air Force (2-1) at Navy (3-1)
Fresno State (3-0) at San Diego State (2-2)
San Jose State (4-0) at Oregon State (1-2)

Have been surprised by the early games, obviously "Ohio", but I've gotten off to good starts before then foundered at other points in the season.

In my game DTs seem to get more sacks than they should. Maybe it's how I play, I put a lot of emphasis on containing the QB run to the outside so the DT's get more chances on those scrambles up the middle.

Re: The Career of J.D. Clark (NCAA 14)
Washington State definitely pushed Idaho to the limit, congrats on still pulling out the win despite their best efforts (offensively at least). I can only imagine the numbers Lawson would have had if he hadn't thrown those interceptions. My Dynasties
