I've never really run with a dominant running QB. He has an accurate arm as well, most of the INTs are on me of course. He's a stud. That QB was really hesitant to pass for OSU, anything downfield was incomplete except for one impossibly accurate sideline throw that reminded me of an NFL throw on the sideline. Thanks for checking in man.

Solid win by way of a strong 4th quarter comeback. Allen's read option TD I would assume was the play of the game. You ground game was absolutely controlling.

McFadden...good god man! 17 tackles, I think I've accomplished that once or twice ever. Add a sack, pick and a fumble recovery, that's player of the week in my book!

          Hey Hellisan,

McFadden definitely had the game of his career there. I think he was player of the week, but haven't fired up the ole Dynasty in awhile! Thank you for checking in and following this thing.

Hey man! Fun times back with the old Louisville squad. It's funny, my memory for this stuff stinks. Real players and teams I have no problem remembering, but my old dynasties, people sometimes come up with names that I forgot a decade ago. Totally funny. It's great to hear from you, it's my dream that someday a new game comes out and some of you old heads decide to try this. It's a lot of fun. Heck... Get 14 and do it. It's worth it.

Thanks DJP. I concur. I loved the old style personally, but maybe others did not, and it just took a long time.

              ------

This thing is obviously on hiatus. Yatus, for you Big Brother fans. I'm in the stretch run of getting my degree and things have just gotten too busy at school, anytime I do gaming it's not of the "hard work" variety and very limited. But this dynasty will not die before Coach Clark wins a title or retires. That much is guaranteed. I hope you are all chising HARD in my stead.

p.s.... RIP Paul Allen. A really good owner. First one any of my teams has ever had.

I’ve been following your dynasty anonymously off and on for a while. I too started an Idaho dynasty, and damn it is fun. Glad you ended up where you belong at Iowa. Been to a few games there (the Mark Weisman days!!!!), and it’s a great experience.

I'm running an Illinois Dynasty right now. I'm in year two. First year was 6-8(4-4 in the B10). My offense was TERRIBLE. I backed my way into the BIG 10 title game because the rest of the division was so bad, got destroyed, and then got destroyed in the bowl game.

Don't have time to post it but love reading yours. Brings back some great memories of MM when you, DoomsdayD1978, and B-Dawg were 'chising like crazy.

josh, I really appreciate you following. Anybody who follows it is just truly appreciated, I have been such an inconsistent reader and commentator that anytime anyone is reading, I just feel blessed. With School about to be over in the next few months I hope that I'll have more time to dedicate to the reading side of OS dynasty activity.

Sounds like a fun start with a lot of challenges ahead. Illinois is tough due to lack of talent, but it is a surprisingly nice state to recruit. Good luck with it! Pop in here and update me from time to time!

Page 100: Back and Running - Week 9 Preview, 2020 Season

The Hawkeyes are coming off another win that takes them to 6-1 on the season. They appear to be firmly within the National Championship picture if they are able to continue winning. Plugger Daniel Norton (578 yds, 4.9 avg, 4 TD) keeps the yards coming on the ground along with running QB Eddie Allen. Allen will look to take advantage of a secondary that is a bit porus and ill-fitting, lining up more talent than intelligence. Will the Wildcats blow a few coverages and allow big plays to the Hawkeyes?

The Wildcats started off hot but then lost easily to the last two ranked teams they have faced. Jared Garcia oozes talent and has also been efficient. Garcia (103-195, 1394 yds, 21 TD, 5 INT) took over the school's career touchdown passing record from Trevor Siemian and now has 56 on his career. He also has the ability to run quite well when necessary. Lee Lawson leads the rushing attack with 727 yards on 5.6 yards per carry. Jason Bratton has had a huge season so far with 508 yards receiving, or 14.5 average yards per catch, and 9 touchdowns. While Northwestern is not bereft of talent, they nevertheless are more known for their offense than their defense, which so far is ranked #103 in the country. If they let Allen make big plays with his feet, it could be a long day.

Crazy that this is like 5 months off of being 5 years old. You're one of the OGs of this board for sure, always glad to see you keep this going. I hope I can keep my dynasty going that long. Either that or we get a new game in that timeframe, but I'm not holding my breath lol.

                              Week 10 Preview, 2020 Season

The Hawkeyes are 7-1 on the season after beating a game Northwestern team with a good deal of talent. They move up to #6 in the rankings and a lot is on the line. Over the past few weeks, Kenard Goodman has played his way into a big time role with the Hawkeyes, as he had more carries than starter Daniel Norton, and ran for a better yards per carry average including a huge 29-yard run. Goodman has talent. Despite being a little guy, he actually puts up more weight than the power oriented Norton does in the weight room. Goodman is one of two blue chip players on the roster with the other being freshman D.J. Halloway. When Goodman reported to the team he struggled to get reps in practice and rumors began to swirl that he was a bust, despite his five-star status. Goodman has steadily improved however, getting stronger, faster, and quicker. He is the most elusive running back on the team and getting better all the time. Look for Goodman to continue to see time on the field as long as he's outplaying Norton carry for carry. Quarterback Eddie Allen, one of the most explosive quarterbacks in the country, is now the leading rusher on the team (85 car, 673 yds, 7.9 avg, 9 TD). Norton is still second (130 car, 647 yds, 4.9 avg, 5 TD) but Goodman (91 car, 467 yds, 5.1 avg, 4 TD) has clearly carved out a niche. His role fulfills Clark's early season promise to not run anyone tired unless injuries forced it. Between the three lead runners and an occasional carry to disappointing senior Ahmad Horne (once again the highest rated and fastest runner with easily the worst ypc average at 3.8), none of the runners have carried the rock when they were tired. Depth can be nice.

What to say about the Fighting Illini? No, really? Are they the horrible team that lost to Kent State and were humiliated by Indiana, or the team that beat Ohio State in overtime two weeks ago, 57-51, and then trampled now #21 Nebraska underfoot, 49-13? One thing they will likely struggle to do is run the ball. They are #115 in the nation in rushing offense, Clark's defenses, usually strong in stopping the run, are once again near the top of the heap at #4. Illinois' defense is not horrible. They are strong up the middle with solid linebackers and a couple of solid corners. Corner Patrick Veney was once a player Clark considered recruiting, but backed off relatively early. In fact, there are numerous players on the Illinois squad that Clark recruited, usually dropping off when it was clear Illinois had the upper hand. Players like wide receiver Mike Williams (seriously the 1,245th wide receiver named as such) and guard Aaron Moore fall into this category. Clark and the Hawkeyes struggled against Illinois in his first meeting when the Fighting Illini had a great season in 2018, losing 7-10. Last season, Iowa prevailed easily. It's anyone's guess how this one will turn out.
