Thanks! Yeah, I tried to fly through this season cause in 2016 I REALLY think we could be a National Championship contender.

                  Butch Jones Gets Contract Extension

Tuesday Butch Jones signed a contract extension with Tennessee. The deal is worth 5 years $26 million and the contract means he'll be the coach through the 2020 season. Butch Jones is currently 23-16 as Tennessee's Head Coach and has improved the team's record in all 3 of his seasons. In his first season he led the Vols to their first bowl appearance since 2010. In his second season he led the Vols to their first winning record (8-5) since Lane Kiffin's lone year in 2009. In his third year he led the team to a 9-4 record which is their best record since 2007 and their first bowl win since 2007. The team also ended up being ranked #11. On top of that he's had multiple #1 recruiting classes and the upcoming 2016 class looks like he could get another #1 class.

I think it's safe to say. Butch Jones is bringing the Vols back to being a national power again.

                          2016 Tennessee Preview

                          Senior WR Marquez North

The 2016 season has the potential to be the best season in the past decade for the Butch Jones led Tennessee Volunteers. For the first time in the Butch Jones era there is experience at every starting position and some quality young depth behind the experience. The Vols start off the season ranked 10th in the nation which is the highest pre-season rank the Vols have had since their disastrous 2005 season where they started off the season ranked 3rd. This is also the highest the Vols have been ranked since November 4, 2006 where they were ranked 8th and lost to LSU. The Vols are also predicted to win the SEC East, and if they do so it will be the first time they have won the SEC East since 2007...

The Vols have 4 Pre-Season All-Americans and 8 Pre-Season All-SEC players. They have arguably the best Wide Receiving group led by Seniors Marquez North and Jason Croom, both are huge mismatches for opponents since they're both 6'4 and taller. Josh Dobbs won't have a hard time getting those 2 the ball and he has a great supporting cast with Josh Smith, Andy McBride, and starting TE Brian Jones. The Vols backfield is a little inexperienced but has TONS of potential. All 3 running backs were 5 stars coming out of high school and I believe it will form one of the best backfields in College Football in a year or two. The Offensive Line is very underrated. I'm still scratching my head as to how one of them didn't get on the Pre-Season All-SEC teams, but their talent and depth will show this year.

                          Junior Defensive End Corey Vereen

The Vols also have one of the best Defensive Lines in the country (it's been a LONG time since anyone has said that). Carlos Watkins is one of the best Defensive Tackles in the country and he decided to stay for a senior season to up his draft stock. He is definitely a player we'll be seeing on Sundays. Jason Carr is one of the fastest DT's in the country and Corey Vereen and LaTroy Lewis coming off the edge really does make this one of the best Defensive Line's in the country. Behind them is a group of young, talented Linebackers. Braylon Lacey and Shaun Moss become starters after Curt Maggitt and Christian Harris both graduated. But, Jalen Reeves-Maybin the starting ROLB will be the anchor as he's a Pre-Season All-SEC team selection. The secondary for the Vols has the potential to be scary good. Malik Foreman is a Pre-Season 1st Team All-American and starting opposite of him is Pre-Season 2nd Team All-SEC CB Cam Sutton. Behind them the Vols have LOADS of young talent. 5 of the Vols 8 CB's are 6'1 and taller which will really help when playing against bigger WR's. Jerome Weber will be starting at the FS position since Brian Randolph graduated (5th round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft) and LaDarrell McNeil still holds his starting SS position.

Kicker Carlos Golden is a Pre-Season 2nd Team All-SEC selection and looks to build off of his great 2015 campaign and Punter Cornelius Jackson is one of the most underrated Punters in the country. Returning kicks and punts will be a combination of Redshirt Freshman Cornerback Brian Hopkins and Redshirt Junior Wide Receiver Josh Smith.

This Tennessee team is VERY talented and I believe they could be National Championship contenders if their Running back play and Linebacker play is solid. I predict they will go 10-2 in the regular season and make it to the SEC Championship game for the first time in almost a decade.
