Re: From Fantasy to Front Office - Titans Madden 15 CFM
Titans Squeeze by Saints in New Orleans.
New Orleans, LA Jake Locker made his second start as the Titans traveled to New Orleans for a week 2 preseason matchup. Locker looked okay until backup, Zach Mettenberger, took the field and looked very impressive during his 2nd quarter and on playing time.
Mettenberger took the Titans from being down twice in this game to regaining leads. Mettenberger marched the Titans down the field with 7 minutes to go to allow the final field goal to put the Titans ahead by four. New Orleans would march the field very quickly after a 3 and out, followed by a Titans 3 and out, to make it to the 7 yard line, but Tennessee's defense made a goal line stand with 1:45 left in the game.
New Orleans backup quarterback Luke McCown left the game with a broken collarbone in the 3rd quarter, expected to miss 8 weeks of football. Also, tight end Benjamin Watson suffered a broken toe for the Saints, will miss 4 weeks.
The Titans will head to Atlanta next week to face the Falcons in week 3 of preseason.

Didn't want to cut him for that reason, but with McCluster and Leon Washington, both good at returning the ball, I had to let him go.Comment

Titans Offense Digs Hole, Surges Late
Atlanta, GA The Titans hit the road for week 3 of preseason this week, and unexpectedly found themselves in an excellent game. The Titans after holding a 3-0 lead in the first quarter, gave up their first points of the game to tie it up, after those points were scored the Titans offense fell off the cliff.
Everything had been looking good for the second string offense led by Zach Mettenberger, but an interception gave that up. Atlanta would score 3 more times off 4 turnovers before the 2nd quarter would end, the last being a pick six with :25 seconds left. This left coach Ken Weisenhunt with a huge decision at the half, bench Mettenberger or leave him in.
After the half, Weisenhunt must've gave a great halftime speech, the Titans surged and took a interception to the house, to return the favor, by G. Wilson. The Titans then would get the ball to roll back to their court, by having their defense step up and create 1 more turnover, and several 3 and outs.
Tennessee had tied the game up with 4minutes left in the 3rd, but a 77 yard pass from Renfree to Jacquizz Rodgers would cancel that out. Mettenberger answered early in the fourth with his first touchdown throw of the game from 4 yards out.
The Titans took the lead on a safety, thanks to a punt dropped at the 1 yard line. Rob Bironas would seal the deal in Atlanta with 1:55 left in the game. The Titans defense and running game proved to be worthy in this game and helped achieve this preseason victory.

Titans Announce Quarterback Change Before Game vs Vikings.
Nashville, TN The Vikings are heading to Nashville this afternoon for the final preseason game of the 2014 season. Coach Ken Weisenhunt has released a statement regarding the roster this morning.
"We have moved Zach Mettenberger to the starting position for today's game. This is not a permanent move, we just are wanting to see Zach work with the first team offense against a first team defense in a game time situation. Zach has put up good numbers this preseason and we want to see his ability.
With that being said, Jake Locker will take over in the second quarter, and finish the half and 3rd quarter. We will evaluate the situation there, and possibly move in Charlie Whitehurst to close the game. Locker has only seen 3 quarters of action this preseason, and we need to see what he is capable of in multiple quarters.
Jake will remain our starter for week one on the road in Kansas City, and we will continue to evaluate all three quarterbacks throughout the season.
Another roster change we will make today is switching around our running backs. Shonn Greene will be out for today's game. We want to see what Leon Washington and Bishop Sankey have to offer for us in more minutes.
The Vikings have yet to lose a game in the preseason and we are looking to build confidence heading towards the season opener vs a tough looking Kansas City team."
I will be streaming games starting in week 1 on my twitch. You can find it on the main page of this thread and in my signature. Follow me on twitter @colt45_870 and I will tweet before games begin.Last edited by HoundsOfHowl; 08-27-2014, 07:44 AM.Comment

Titans Impress Home Crowd in Preseason Finale
Nashville, TN The Tennessee Titans came in to the preseason finale facing the 3-0 Vikings, but had determination to give them their first preseason loss. Coach Weisenhunt had made a statement earlier in the day about the quarterback and halfback position changes for this game.
Both Jake Locker and Zach Mettenberger did what they were sent to do today, as well as both Bishop Sankey and Leon Washington. Washington has raised questions around Nashville now after his impressive performance over the preseason, will he be the starter next week in Kansas City?
The Titans defense did their part in this win today, creating 3 turnovers and holding the Vikings to 279 yards. The Vikings offense did not create a point until the fourth quarter.
The Titans with the lead for all of the game, looked to the ground and racked up rushing yards with Bishop Sankey busting over the century mark.
The Titans will hit the road to take on the Kansas City Chiefs next week in the season opener. We look forward to bringing you the action after the game.

Titans Get Big Road Win in Week 1
Kansas City, MO Tennessee Titans, under new ownership and a new head coach, visited the Chiefs in week 1 of the regular season. Despite turnovers and a sloppy offensive first half, the Titans pulled together and held off the late surge by Kansas City for the win.
Kansas City opened up on their first drive with 39 yards offense and finished it off with a 51 yard field goal. Tennessee would take the field with a 3 and out, but their defense would come up huge taking an Alex Smith underthrown ball 59 yards for the score, from K. Wooten. Alex Smith would throw one more INT before the day was over.
At the half Jake Locker was 2 for 10 and only had 11 passing yards, we caught coach Weisenhunt on the way back to the field after the half and he said that talk from upstairs was to bench Locker, and bring in the rookie Zach Mettenberger.
Zach Mettenberger after taking the field at halftime was golden. On his first drive taking the Titans to a touchdown, after going 7 for 7 and tossing a 29 yard pass for the score.
Tennessee gave the Chiefs plenty of chances with 2 fumbles inside their half of the field, but Tennessee's defense proved to hold out for them.
Rob Bironas missed a late 44 yard field goal which would've ultimately sealed the deal for Tennessee. Alex Smith and company took the field with momentum after the missed field goal, and drove the field quickly to bring the score within 7. The Chiefs kicked the ball deep with all three timeouts, but failed to stop Tennessee on the drive, allowing Mettenberger to kneel the clock out.
Tennessee will play host to the Dallas Cowboys next week.

Nashville, TN After the big win in Kansas City, Allen Andrews was contacted by Peter Schrager concerning season outlook.
Schrager Many folks, including yourself, thought this team would perform better last season, but things did not come together. How do you avoid that again this season.
Andrews We start by forgetting last season. This is a different team, and it's a team that knows we can't miss the playoffs again.
