Man you got to do something about that defense in the offseason. Any chance to unload some dead weight for extra draft picks?

Between your need to surround Carr with weapons and that defense 7 picks isn't going to be enough even if you hit on all 7.

What I'm hoping for is some defensive help in the off season. I should be getting better these next few games with the return of Justin Tuck, but I have quite the schedule coming up (at Seahawks, vs Denver, at San Diego, at Kansas City)

The real weird thing is, is I love my linebacking core - the outside linebackers Sio Moore and Khalil Mack are clearly the best and have the best development rating - so I may need to look at an MLB as well as a corner.. Right now I have 2, 1st Round picks, but I may have to trade off Lamaar Woodley, Kevin Maiava, and Nick Roach for mid round picks, or bundle them together to a team that needs RE's and MLB's for a 1st or 2nd round pick..

In a division with Peyton Manning & Philip Rivers, I'd load up on CBs and pass rushers

          Draft Stories & Scouting
Team Needs: QB, RB, WR, LG, RG, RT, LE, RE, MLB, CB, FS, K

Definitely need to do something about my MLBcore as Kevin Maiava, Nick Roach, and Stephen Nicholas clearly aren't the answer.. I will look into an MLB after scouting the Development rating for Jaelin Patton..
          • Mental Lapses: Inconsistent week to week play has Texas TE Kris Roberson falling in several experts' mock drafts.
            • "Roberson is the biggest loser in my latest mock. Draft buzz is growing quieter and quieter." - Ross Tucker

          • Failure to Participate: After missing several organized team activities, LT Robby Grant will not be finishing his final season with Texas A&M
            • "I wonder how many chances the coaching staff gave Robby Grant before suspending him for the ol' conduct detrimental to the team spiel?" - Skip Bayless

          Players Scouted
          • Agnes Hadley - MLB - 3-4 Tackler / Base 3-4 - 1st Round #27
            • PMVA's: Acceleration, Pursuit: A.. Speed, Tackle, Block Shedding: B.. Play Recognition, Awareness, Zone Coverage: C.. Man Coverage: D..

          • Bola Alli - MLB - Balanced / Hybrid Defense - 4th Round #11
            • PMVA's: Speed, Acceleration, Tackle, Pursuit: B.. Block Shedding, Zone Coverage: C.. Awareness, Play Recognition: D..

          • Nataki Fisher - MLB - Prototype / Hybrid Defense - 5th Round #11
            • PMVA's: Speed, Acceleration: A.. Tackle, Pursuit: B.. Block Shedding, Zone Coverage: C.. Play Recognition, Awareness: D..

Agnes Hadley is definitely a worthy late-1st pick.. I could definitely get some use out of trading one of my top-10 picks and getting a later pick and stock up on future picks as well.. It really depends on who is the Star out of Jaelin Patton or Khystian Bell..

I am no longer thinking about Frankie Berry, as I can sign a TE in Free Agency in the off-season, but a Star CB only comes around once a draft..

Out of the two mid-draft MLB's here Nataki Fisher is only better in the Speed categories, otherwise they have the same initial grades..

          My Big Board
          1. Jaelin Patton - CB - Prototype / Attacking 3-4 - (1st Round #3)
          2. Agnes Hadley - MLB - 3-4 Tackler / Base 3-4 - (1st Round #27)
          3. Khrystian Ball - CB - Prototype / Base 3-4 - (1st Round #15)
          4. Frankie Berry - TE - Vertical / West Coast - (1st Round #6)
          5. Dejuan Rodgers - WR - Balanced / Vertical Offense - (2nd Round #28)
          6. Nataki Fisher - MLB - Prototype / Hybrid Defense - (5th Round #11)
          7. Bola Alli - MLB - Prototype / Hybrid Defense - (4th Round #11)

          • Miles Burris - ROLB (66 OVR) - Ruptured Disk - Out for 2 Weeks

And as if my defense could use another hole in it, DJ Hayden is now done for the season - I need to replace him with someone in Free Agency..

          Free Agency
          • Signed: Asante Samuel - CB - 82 OVR

This was, excuse my French, a ****ING AWESOME WIN RIGHT HERE!! SO AMPED TO BEAT THE ONLY UNDEFEATED LEFT IN THE GAME!

The Offense today, while beginning the game on a slow roll, started to really heat up after the halftime show. Derek Carr simply looked like a veteran pro-style QB back in the pocket, and while he (again) posted a negative TD:INT ratio (0:1) - but managed the game like a veteran and that is exactly what I needed. Richard Sherman had an opportunity to change the course of this game and hand us another loss but he dropped the lame duck. Other than that one pass, Carr looked phenomenal getting the ball to his targets. The main attraction today was the rushing game. We were cooled off last week against the Cardinals, but this week Andre Ellington jetted off for 165 yards on 18 carries which is just blowing my mind. His big run came early in the 3rd Quarter when he took a simple HB Counter play 91 yards to the house.

The Defense was extraordinary today. Only allowing the #8 Offense one touchdown on 5 opportunities. Russel Wilson couldn't get a thing going even though he looked great on paper - throwing for only 263 yards on 28 of 32 passing with no scores or interceptions. Our Front Seven was only able to get through the line a couple times but we did manage to keep Marshawn Lynch under 100 yards rushing (91 yards on 15 carries) which is still a solid game, but I am very happy as his total couldve gone for so much more.

Yeah that is very true, facing the tough passing offenses two times in a season isn't very fun.. I have been doing pretty solid since signing Asante Samuel but yeah I agree, I definitely need some help in the secondary. With my two first round picks I am definitely going to lock down a CB, but it's really up in the air as to what other position I will take - I may end up trading my other pick and stack up on draft picks

2 IN A ROW!!! WINS AGAINST THE SEAHAWKS AND THE BRONCOS!!

What an offensive game for both teams, unfortunately there was essentially no defense until the end of the game, and it only was on the Raiders side of the ball..

The Offense today was unbelievable. Derek Carr was going against the best QB of all time in Peyton Manning and simply out-played the vet. Carr looked amazing in the pocket today, nailing 25 passes for 237 yards for 5 TDs to only 1 INT. There was quite a spread of the ball today, Michael Rivera (4/64/0) had a pretty solid day before leaving the game with an injury; hopefully he won't be out for too long. Carr was able to really spread the ball effectively in the red-zone, hitting 4 different receivers for scores - James Jones (5/33/1), Rod Streater (4/33/1), Andre Holmes (3/46/2),and Marcel Reece (3/23/1).. Andre Ellington killed it again today on the ground, rushing for 128 yards on only 14 carries, including his big 52 yard scamper in the 3rd, although he really wasn't needed in this one thanks to the great performance in the passing game.

The Defense today was non-existent until the final 5 minutes of the game. Peyton Manning absolutely wrecked us throwing for 385 yards and 2 scores; the main benefactors were Julius Thomas who caught 9 passes for 109 yards, and Wes Welker who nabbed 5 for 131 including an 81 yard score. Once again our Rush D was not able to plug a hole today, allowing Monte Ball to go off for 107 yards on 15 carries and a score. The only reason Manning did not have more TDs or yardage is because the Broncos were able to return a pick for a touchdown which severely cut their time on the field, but we were able to do the exact same thing and had Tyvon Branch return an INT for the score late in the 4th Quarter to seal the game.

if you go to scrimmage in game prep you can use up those leftover hours one hour at a time. usually good for 15-20 XP

                    Notes

We are riding a 2-game win streak, and against 2 really impressive teams. Clearly this team has the power to beat any team in the NFL, but for whatever reason our competitiveness only comes out against the top teams. This week we take on the Chargers (7-2) so we have to be firing on all cylinders once again in order to keep this one close.

What a Game! Unfortunately this one was a loss, but damn we had this game wrapped up and won but thanks to terrible defense and amazing running from the Chargers backfield, they were able to score back the points they were down.

The Offense today was very good. Derek Carr has finally settled into his role at QB and is no longer forcing dangerous passes and is looking better in the rushing game as well - he finished with 218 yards and a score through the air with 19 yards on the ground including some key first down plunges. Andre Ellington absolutely killed it again, busting off for 110 yards and a TD - but after his big 40 yard rush he seemed to cool off and was only able to muster some medium length runs at best. Darren McFadden also had a hell of a game rushing for 57 yards on just 9 carries - he definitely has earned a fair amount of the workload, but I need to get him more involved in the passing game too. Rod Streater led the team with 7 receptions, but all went for short yardage (he finished with only 55 yards) but the big play of the day was James Jones' beautiful diving grab for the score.

The Defense was abysmal however. The day began with us absolutely crushing Danny Woodhead in the backfield but after he was able to bust off a big run there was no stopping that running game. Woodhead finished the day with 93 yards on 17 carries with a TD (and 8 receptions for 50 yards) with backup Ryan Mathews going off as well, 94 yards on 7 carries. Both running backs had amazing runs of 75 (TD) and 64 - which helped the Chargers get well within scoring distance, but one positive we can take from this game, our red-zone defense is still one of the best in the NFL. Philip Rivers had himself a great day, throwing for 269 yards - but what really made this day great was the fact he was able to bust out of 4 different sacks and complete a pass well down field; it was very Big Ben-like.

                      Notes

Clearly our defense is not where we need it to be. Now I know I need to focus on getting my talent through the draft and Free Agency. I have a couple of players who are solid at their positions (namely Sio Moore - ROLB, Khalil Mack - LOLB, and Justin Tuck - LE) but everyone else needs to get better. DJ Hayden should be on this list too, but thanks to his injury he is more a cause of concern than anything else.

This is where I need to hunker down and really start picking apart prospects in this upcoming Draft Class and make sure they are going to be Stars. Obviously Cornerback is my top priority, but now it is clear that I need a top-tier Middle Linebacker as well along with some help on the Right End.

WOW! Definitely not what I was hoping for there. This is not changing my top pick from him, his numbers look too good to pass up on him, he just wont be a top CB right off the bat, it will just take him some time to develop..

Another amazing win, and finally we were able to put a damper on the opposing run game.

The Offense was great today, and the usual suspects were killing it again. Lately this team has been on a tear offensively and today was no drawback; Derek Carr busted off 217 yards and 3 TDs with 0 INTs - once again with another 0 turnover game. Mychal Rivera had himself a day as well, catching 5 passes for 66 yards and 2 scores; the other TD went to Marcel Reece who had only had the one catch for a 6 yard score. The offensive MVP for the Raiders was definitely Andre Ellington who once again had another 100+ yard performance; busting off 128 yards including a 50 yard scamper, but didn't get into the end zone today - but did also manage to get a team-high 7 receptions for 55 yards.

The Defense today was actually great, on both aspects. Defending the Pass we were able to intercept Alex Smith in the end zone, and only allowed him 229 yards with 2 TDs - with one of his TDs going for 58 yards to Derrick Alexander. We were finally able to stuff the run, holding superstar Jamaal Charles to only 37 yards rushing, with backup Knile Davis getting 45 yards on top of that. It was a great day for this defense and hopefully it continues into the following weeks.

                        Notes

Our defense stepped up last week against the Chiefs and surprised me after I called them out in last weeks Coaches Corner. I need this to continue, I want to be out of dead-last place for both total defense and rushing defense by the end of this week. We go against an ailing Rams team who is missing their best Running Back.

We get back TJ Carrie (CB) from injury this week so I get some more protection in the big passing situations. Also, I am moving Marcel Reece to the TE3 spot, under David Ausberry, so while Ausberry is still hurt Reece will be utilized more in the passing game. He has been practically nothing to the offense this year but that is because I run mostly 2 RB or 2 TE formations, rendering the FB position useless.

I cannot take the Rams lightly, however, because it seems that my team goes all out against the better teams but gets creamed by the worse teams. To prepare for this week I need to improve the confidence of my best defensive players. And this week I have a bevy of Game Prep hours to utilize, so I will get to do a lot this week.

                        Injuries
                        • DJ Hayden - CB (77 OVR) - Pectoral Tear - **Injured Reserve**
                        • David Ausberry - TE (72 OVR) - Broken Collarbone - Out for 4 Weeks

We get TJ Carrie back today, and that should provide us with some better protection in the Dime and Nickel formations..

Another win for the Raiders! Hell Yes!! We are on a roll now and are starting to stop the run!

The Offense was great today, however we did suffer some injuries in this one. Derek Carr threw for 212 yards and 2 scores with 0 INTs including a beautiful 40 yard play action pass to Rod Streater, who finished with 104 yards on 2 catches before leaving the game with an injury. The receivers for the Raiders really didn't get many targets, but that was because I was able to run the ball so much and so well. Andre Ellington busted off 61 yards on 16 carries with a score before leaving the game with a minor injury (he could've continued to play but I didn't want to risk re-injury) and Darren McFadden went off for 94 yards on 15 carries before leaving with an more serious injury.

The Defense was great today, but gave up quite a bit of yardage thanks to garbage time. Sam Bradford had a hell of a game, throwing for 426 yards with 4 scores. The main targets for Bradford were Kenny Britt (9/93/1) and Brian Quick (6/108/0) and Justice Cunningham had a nice day fantasy-wise grabbing 3 balls for 15 yards for 2.. The Rams rushing attack was non-existent and our defense really was amazing stopping the run Tre Mason led the charge but only mustered up a paltry 32 yards on 9 carries, and backup Kendall Hunter got 15 yards on 4 carries.

                          Notes

Our Rush Defense is doing quite well the last few weeks but they're definitely not out of the woods yet. Our Pass D was torched for big yards but that was mostly due to garbage time numbers. We also suffered quite a few injuries last week, but thankfully the most valuable of the players was only hurt for the game - but we will be without the help of Rod Streater and Darren McFadden this week; so in their stead will be Andre Hoimes and Marcel Reece / Latavius Murray respectively.

                          Injuries
                          • DJ Hayden - CB (77 OVR) - Pectoral Tear - **Injured Reserve**
                          • Rod Streater - WR (80 OVR) - Ruptured Disk - Out for 5 Weeks
                          • Darren McFadden - HB (73 OVR) - Broken Ribs - Out for 4 Weeks
                          • David Ausberry - TE (72 OVR) - Broken Collarbone - Out for 3 Weeks

Losing Darren McFadden is going to be a huge struggle to overcome, hopefully Latavius Murray will shine with his increased workload.

A very tough loss today, absolute turnover city and our offense finally has cooled off; but hopefully we turn it around next week when we aren't facing one of the best defenses in football.

The Offense was awful today, barely able to post 300 yards off offense. Derek Carr only was able to muster 236 yards and 1 score, but managed to throw 5 INTs; one of them was a shoelace grab in the 1st quarter but it counts. It was absolutely his worst game of his young career and hopefully he turns it around; but he was able to hit James Jones for 74 yards and a score on 6 receptions. Andre Ellington was also grounded today, only able to run for 58 yards on 18 carries; before the final couple of drives he was having an even worse game, but he also managed to snag 4 receptions for 8 yards.

The Defense was pretty bad themselves, against the run we allowed big yards but it was all thanks to one big run from Carlos Hyde (his 52 yard scamper in the 2nd) but he only managed to finish the game with 94 yards on 24 carries. Colin Kaepernick had a great day passing the ball, throwing only 4 incompletions (2 INTs) fo 258 yards and 2 scores. Both of his scores were long bombs to Michael Crabtree and Anquan Boldin for 32 and 43 respectively.

We suffered quite a few injuries again this game to our already aching linebacking core. So I will need to make some moves with free agents in order to patch it up.

We suffered quite a few injuries this week including losing our best receiver in Rod Streater. I definitely need to sign a Free Agent WR to replace him.

                            Injuries
                            • DJ Hayden - CB (77 OVR) - Pectoral Tear - **Injured Reserve**
                            • Ray Ray Armstrong - LOLB (64 OVR) - Broken Collarbone - Out for 5 Weeks **Placed on IR**
                            • Rod Streater - WR (80 OVR) - Ruptured Disk - Out for 4 Weeks **Placed on IR**
                            • Darren McFadden - HB (73 OVR) - Broken Ribs - Out for 3 Weeks
                            • David Ausberry - TE (72 OVR) - Broken Collarbone - Out for 2 Weeks

                            Free Agent Pickup
                            • Signed: Devin Hester - WR (77 OVR)

Replacing a top WR like Rod Streater for our offense is going to be no easy task. But thankfully I found Devin Hester available on the free agent pool. With his intense speed and great big-play ability he should be a great addition to our offense and will definitely be a long-ball receiver.

Both prospects here are positions that I am interested in. Maybe if they aren't too high of prospects I can look at them in the later rounds.

Damn, a tough loss in the snowy confines of Kansas City. We had the lead but absolutely blew it thanks to turnovers and a bad call on my end on the 4th down that could've changed the course of the game.

The Offense was pretty average today. Derek Carr got back to his solid ways, throwing an impressive 216 yards and 1 TD with 0 INTs, adding 30 yards on the ground, but did fumble the ball two times; but I will chalk that up to handling a cold ball in the snow. New Raider Devin Hester is clearly a great addition to the team, and fits into the short, cross-route passing scheme that I use with Carr. Hester finished the day with a team-high 7 receptions for 80 yards, and Mychal Rivera had another good day nabbing 5 balls for 51 yards and a score. Andre Ellington once again looked human, only achieving 52 yards on 17 carries, but did get into the end zone today - he also added 4 catches for 28 yards.

The Defense today was sub-par, but the only reason we gave up the points today was thanks to the starting field position the Chiefs had thanks to the fumbles by Derek Carr. Alex Smith had a hell of a day passing, throwing for 221 yards and 2 scores with only 1 INT, but managed to hit Knile Davis for big gains, 131 yards on just 4 catches - adding 58 yards on the ground after Jamaal Charles got hurt a few times in the 1st half (he finished with 6/24/0). Other than Knile Davis there really wasn't a major player in theChiefs offense.

The big changing moment in this game was late in the game I had a 4th and short from the 38 yard line and attempted a Field Goal while down 20-24. I should have gone for the 1st down and gone for the win, but I wanted to get the points and launch them deep into their side of the field and try to win the game that way. Unfortunately, Sebastian Janikowski just does not have the leg anymore (at least his Power rating in this game is way down from last year -__-) and banged it off the cross-bar. I did manage to stop the Chiefs on first and second down, and on third down they managed to cross the yellow line and it was game over.

Devin Hester was clearly a great signing, I need to utilize the passing game while Andre Ellington is faltering, so I definitely need to utilize him more, he did have 7 receptions last game, I think I can get him 10 this game and hit James Jones for more passes as well.

An explosion of offense for us today, it was a great game and I am very happy with the turnaround.

The Offense was great today, finally after a few low key games. Derek Carr threw worse than he should have but still ended up with a solid stat line of 246 yards through the air, 3 TDs and 2 INTs. The top receivers were given big performances today, Devin Hester had 8 receptions for 76 yards and 1 TD, while James Jones had 5 receptions for 41, including the game-clinching catch on 3rd and 7 to seal the game. The biggest performance of the day was Denarius Moore who had 4 catches for 20 yards and 2 scores. Andre Ellington seemed to get out of his slump, rushing for 83 yards and a score while catching 4 balls for 11 yards (he did have one -7 yard reception -__-).

The Defense was spectacular aside from the garbage time numbers we allowed. EJ Manuel threw for 213 yards and 2 TDs, but managed to rush for big first downs rushing for 39 yards on just 3 carries. After an abysmal start which led well into the 2nd Quarter, on a play-action pass he hit Robert Woods for a long-bomb of 80 yards; but aside from that, he did not have a good day. CJ Spiller could not get anything going on the ground, only achieving 46 yards on 13 carries. This game should improve our standings for our team defense, especially in the rush defense category.

Yeah when you Delegate the time, like how I delegate the final 5 hours every week, it just sims up the Scrimmages and picks the players for me. But the Delegate usually go for the top guys, so I may look into developing young up and comers like Carr, Hayden and even Andre Holmes..
