Trust me I totally understand. For me posting and playing is. Winter activity. I have always felt bad when I take off in the spring/summer gets busy.
Good luck in everything you do on and off the forums. Guess now when I am bored are work I will just have to go back reread from the beginningComment

jpfine, I'm glad I got you started. Gaming is obviously a fun hobby, but sharing what you do makes it fun as well, for your "audience" and for you as well. Like most who play dynasties or career modes, at some point you feel connections to the dynasty and/or its players. Anytime you reach that point where a moment or player randomly pops into your head years later, it's all worth it.
UConn has been the focal point of my gaming over the past five years, so you can imagine that ending the reporting on it was an extremely tough decision to make.. so tough that I wasn't sure even two weeks ago. Dynasties are largely winter and summer activities for me as well, they have been for a long time, and there's no reason I could have not continued. This is a logical place to stop, though.
Deuce, and anyone else for that matter, I highly encourage you to read the whole thread if you have not. While the presentation was significantly short of the high quality we saw in the last few seasons, we had so much fun anyway.
There's a strong chance this is it for me and 'chising, but as I said in the goodbye post, I am not planning on shutting the door for good just yet. I would like to play at least one more season with UConn off the record, and maybe a new season recap thread could appear in the future. Or maybe something new. I dabble in old school Madden every now and then, and a modern Houston Oilers 'chise has been on my mind for a long time (this one I actually did off the record in 2016). I'm a massive Ja Morant fan, so if I ever pick up 2K again a Grizzlies Association could be an option. Maybe a coaching dynasty or a created team, like what MrHurriicane has done with Kalispell for the last few years. Or maybe I retire from the boards. Who knows!
-------------------------------------------
Anyways, if anyone still wants to submit a CAC in case I continue on off the record, by all means feel free to send me a PM; I'll include the sign-up sheet here. Now that I'm off the record, I absolutely intend to include some other famous coaches - Coach Geezy, Coach BDawg, Coach Clark, Coach Rob Roy, maybe others that I've forgotten.
I will say that I ran two simulations to see what would happen in a potential 2024 season.. and oh boy. There's still plenty of material if this moves to a new thread at any point in time, both in regards to UConn and especially the CAC world. *shrug*Check out We have a football team too..Guru's UConn Huskies in Dynasty HQ!

Duuuuude, going out on top is poetic and powerful. Don't stay in it past the point of it being fun. Thanks for this adventure, man, and all the work necessary to make it happen. Congrats on the national title and the #1 overall pick!!! Glad Brihay also got a first round draft pick. Haha.
This a lot of fun to read. Very creative story you wove together.
I'll definitely check out part three if it ever comes, but real life is more important, for sure. Enjoy yourself, good luck in all things!Comment

Guru, not sure when or if you'll see this, but I was finally able to read through from about game 8 of this season until the finale in order to catch up on everything, and what an ending. Brings a tear to my eye! It was an incredible finish, and your reporting and chising has been an absolute inspiration to follow along with. This does seem like the perfect time to go out on top, as UConn will clearly being in a rebuilding stage for the next year or two. That said, thank you for all the enjoyment you have given me in following along with your dynasty and inspiring my own! Wishing you all the best, and one day hoping for a return to Storrs!Check out my Pitt Panthers Dynasty (NCAA Football 14)

Aw man, sad to see this end but glad you knew it was time to end when it wasn't enjoyable for you anymore. You were one of the guys that inspired me to start reporting dynasties, but it's really hard work and with the other commitments I have, I could never stick to it for longer than a couple months. Would be cool if you kept playing (only if you want to of course), or even just simmed and gave us an update a few years down the road. I myself am about to get back into dynasties. Will be off the record though for sure.Last edited by young22; 01-10-2020, 03:23 PM.Comment

Finally just had a chance to read all of this over the last few days. Tremendous stuff and sad to see it go. Crazy how similar Brown's last season numbers and the ultimate result(Heisman/Natty) are to Joe Burrow's in real life.
Great ending to this dynasty..if it is an end....and wow, followed along as best I could on what my Fighting Irish were doing and this..and ouch..lots of down/rough seasons. Surprised Kelly kept his job through all of this.Comment

Wow, I am sad to see it go but what a great series so far! I am only halfway through viewing it but I have kept the spoilers relatively low! I look forward to finishing this and possibly look forward to some future content from you. Keep up doing great work!Comment

It’s also fun to compare and contrast real life from fantasy as the years begin to catch up with the dynasty. Players that were stars here that didn’t pan out in real life are fun to research. Josh Marriner, “Ashanti Swift” (Kareem Walker), Treon Harris, Kendrick Doss, Kevin Olsen’s legal troubles, country music singer Jabe Burgess, Gonzaga basketball player/Rice QB Jeremy Jones are just a few. Teams that emerged as perennial threats here, such as Nebraska, that have struggled in real life and vice versa are fun to ponder in “What If?” scenarios. I'm in the middle of my own re-read, and there are just so many ways to look at this from the rear view mirror.
The one thing that I as the author love about this thread, though, is remembering what was going on in my life at each post. Though the game recaps often came much later, in many cases I remember the day that a certain game was played. Indiana Season 6 was a fun one for me because it was played an hour before I went to a Halloween party during the 2015 World Series. Little things like that mean a lot. Those were some really great times, and this serves as a fun relic and time capsule for me personally and as a fan/historian of the sport. Maybe that’s why we love these dynasties so much.
In any case, I hope you enjoyed my nostalgia trip LMAO. I sincerely hope that all of you are doing well. Much love as always.Check out We have a football team too..Guru's UConn Huskies in Dynasty HQ!

Didn’t realize I was still subscribed to this thread, but I got the email notification that you made a new post Guru and not gonna lie, I got pretty excited. Still one of my favorite dynasties ever and I’m glad I got to experience it live starting from season one. It was a heckuva ride!Check out my dynasty thread:
