Just checked out this dynasty thread a few days ago...and haven't been able to put it down since. Good job in putting this UConn team in a good position, looks like you are having tons of fun building this team. Really looking forward to how this recruiting class can contribute. Really like D-Ham hopefully he can get some garbage time snaps this season to see what's in store for the future!

Would love to get thrown into the CAC ring after this season.

Wow, this is wild. You guys are freaking out about a fake recruit in guru's game. This is what OS is all about, but it also shows how much you guys miss football. I'm not at that point yet. I'm still loving baseball, even though I haven't played at all yet.

I always hoped I'd have this level of activity, but I agree this is absolutely nuts, in the good way. I'm loving every moment of this. It's really great to see very dedicated followers in my quest to the top!

Thanks for checking in, Bryan. I'm loving playing this dynasty and, if you can believe it, this is the longest I've gone in a solo dynasty in this game. I've had lots of problems with restarting offline 'chises this game, I took a long break from them following the conclusion of my Kentucky 'chise about a year ago, and have come back to a good mode. Just took lots of time to realize it haha.

Hamilton is the man. He'll be top backup to Shirreffs this season, and assume the role next year. He's almost identical to Shirreffs as well, so the transition should be seamless.

Pop in toward the end of the season and just remind me about your CAC interest if I forget. I'll post a sign-up sheet just like last season, and all you need to do is just fill it out for me. We'll get you in for 2018!

Definitely...as for this season I am really looking forward to seeing if Shirreffs can get over this Navy hump that has haunted Coach since they joined the American

UConn confirms planned move to Big 12 for 2018; Houston following

Woah. After years of behind the curtain negotiations and speculating that the ACC was going to pick up UConn and some other school (likely Notre Dame) to create college football's first super conference, the Big 12 has capitalized off of the ACC's sheer stupidity in playing the waiting game.

Big 12 commish Bob Bowlsby and UConn A.D. Warde Manuel released a joint statement announcing UConn's departure from the American for the Big 12 on July 7, agreeing to pay a $10 million buyout from the AAC. The move was not done in time for the 2017 season, but UConn will gain full membership on July 1, 2018. In addition, Bowlsby also lands Houston to move the conference back to 12 teams after years of sitting at only 10.

"We've been looking at expanding for a long time, and I feel these two are the best teams we could've found at this juncture. Our conference will be more competitive, and the quality of play will almost certainly rise. I'm looking forward to 2018 already."

Screw the ACC. I'm glad to see we found a suitor and we're out the American finally. This is the best thing to do for our programs at this time, and I'm looking forward to the 2018-19 season.

The new proposed divisions will look like this:

Panhandle Division:
Baylor
Houston
Oklahoma
Texas
Texas Tech
TCU

North Division:
UConn
Iowa State
Kansas
Kansas State
Oklahoma State
West Virginia

As a result, the home and home UConn scheduled with West Virginia for 2018 and 2020 will be nullified, as both will enter the same division next season. Potential suitors to fill that open date are rumored to include USC, Iowa (coach Diaco's alma mater) and Notre Dame, among others.

With the move dropping the American back down to 10 teams, the conference is almost certain to be expanding, and will almost definitely set off another round of conference musical chairs.

Army and Marshall are the top two candidates to fill the spots vacated in the AAC. North Texas and FIU are also logical candidates to move.

Haha. For some reason, I wanted the Big 12. I've done a lot with the ACC in online 'chises and offline 'chises, so.. I needed some new opponents, this was the logical choice. Besides, the ACC is a bunch of a-holes for shutting out UConn so many times.

I'm loving the Oklahoma State/West Virginia games looming. Iowa State is on the upswing as well, I want to see them. The North could be a very wild division for a number of years.

Depth chart set up (I think) I've used since the Mass State dynasty, so that argument is invalid.

I'd like to think that I made the schedule on my own, but if you say I was inspired...eh, whatever.

hope your able to close out your AAC run with another title and send the Huskies to a New Years 6 Bowl prior to the Big 12.

Goal #1 is beating Navy and that option! If Shirreffs can beat Navy I believe an AAC Championship and a possibly a CFBP berth is very possible. Coach Diaco needs all the momentum he can get going into the Big 12!
