Re: The Legacy of Tyler Kozlov

    Week 8 Update

Eric Grant (HC) of the Idaho Vandals (SB)
    (2-4)(1-3) BYE
    311.3 OYDS (122) 20.8 PPG
    460.8 DYDS (118) 32.7 PAPG
    Top Performer:

Corey Warby (HC) of the UAB Blazers (SB)
    (3-4)(2-3) W 26-10 vs South Alabama Jaguars (3-3)
    385.9 OYDS (77) 26.3 PPG
    438.1 DYDS (106) 30 PAPG
Top Performer: Jeff Briscoe (22-38) 228 PaYds 1 TD 1 INT 39 RuYds 1 TD

The Blazers rallied from a 10-0 first quarter deficit to run well past the Jaguars in a 26-10 final that saw the Blazers dominate the final three quarters to extinguish their opponent, consecutive wins has the Blazers trending in the positive and if they can carry this momentum, they can save their first season in the Sunbelt, Jeff Briscoe has been terrific for the Blazers and had another great performance in this one.

John Valkyrie (HC) of the UL-Monroe Warhawks (SB)
    (1-5)(1-1) L 35-49 @ Troy Trojans (3-4)
    388.2 OYDS (74) 26.2 PPG
    386 DYDS (57) 36.1 PAPG
Top Performer: Anthony Monken (QB) 18-29 292 PaYds 3 TD 1 INT 57 RuYds 2 TD

This offense is performing at a high level and Anthony Monken may be one of the best quarterbacks in the conference, but it says a lot when five total touchdowns from your quarterback cannot save you from defeat, this defense has too many holes, as they give up a season high to an average Sunbelt squad.

Quinn Retney (HC) of the UMass Minutemen (AMER)
    (2-5)(1-2) L 42-25 vs #24 Wake Forest (6-0)
    328.1 OYDS (119) 21.7 PPG
    436.3 DYDS (104) 29.1 PAPG
Top Performer: Rufus Fagan (HB) 175 RuYds 2 TD 1 Rec 7 ReYds

Rufus Fagan stepped up with the absence of David Gray and the team didn't miss a step as the redshirt freshman had a career day against a tremendous opponent, his total incredible but not enough to stem the tide. After stunning Purdue a weak ago, the magic wasn't there for the Minutemen to tear down another top American squad. Interestingly, the Minutemen may be more capable in the American than expected.

This late interception sealed the victory for the Bears

      12 vs 20

Lack of firepower ends Aggies streak in Waco

The defense stepped up in a huge way, not yielding a touchdown after the first quarter despite allowing 417 yards of total offense on a day when the Aggies were always within striking distance but never quite close enough to seal the deal. The Aggies needed everything and more if they had hoped to pull an upset and one side came to the game, the other? Just didn't seem capable of overcoming the loss of their senior quarterback.

Damion Hobbs went down last week and the offense was just awful this week. Stepping in was George King who started out after a poor first drive completing a pass to Kevin Williams that the halfback darted downfield and managed to nearly outpace the entire defense but would get tripped up deep in the Bears territory, even despite the big gain, the Aggies would manage just a field goal as they would get stuffed on the goal line, and that would be the story of the day for the Aggies, who made four trips to the red zone and converted no touchdowns and were held without a score in another trip. (The Bears were bad in the red zone as well, knotting in a pair of field goals on four trips).

KD Cannon was bailing out Chris Johnson who looked oddly erratic at times, sending passes beyond the outstretched hands of his receivers and getting caught up in the pocket and taking coverage sacks or short gains was prevalent on the afternoon, but a long touchdown to open the game had the Waco crowd rolling, and a late first quarter touchdown from Chris Johnson had the fans getting louder, the Aggies would make it close, with three field goals across the next two frames before being blanked in the final one.

Twice, the Aggies got really deep into the Bears territory in the second and third quarter with an opportunity to put a touchdown on the board and potentially steal the fire from the Bears whom seemed to be desperately holding onto victory, but twice the Bears defense snuffed out the spread option offense that was brought into this one, and without much of a passing game the one dimensional offense got caught up in the red zone without much opportunity, getting stuffed and leading to field goals, but even so despite needed four field goals to do it, the Aggies were inside a single field goal of taking the victory.

The Waco crowd grew more and more quiet as the game drew on, with the Aggies starting to threaten before getting stopped as they made their way into opposition territory, and the Bears shooting themselves in the foot, three turnovers (2 FUM - 1 INT) from a very opportunistic Aggies defense had the Aggies right in this one, a late fumble by Chris Johnson had the Aggies starting on the forty.

The Aggies started to drive slowly, churning out yardage with a pair of first downs on six plays, but a big sack on a pass attempt would knock them deep in field goal range and the kick would fall just shy of the post on the attempt, with the Bears back in business, they would finally orchestrate a scoring drive, but suffered the same difficulties the opposition had, as their offense stalled on the goal line and led to a chip shot field goal to make it a five point lead.

Utah State would try everything, but ultimately would toss a late interception that would be nearly brought back for the score as the Bears would seal the victory with a first down rush and coming out in the victory formation to hold on for their fourth victory and stave off the upset that would've had the Bears 1-2 in Big 12 play.

Inversely, the Aggies fall and the rest of the season hangs in question, George King didn't inspire much confidence, he wasn't bad, but he wasn't enough to carry the team on a day when the Bears did everything they could to lose. LaJuan Hunt who was expected to be a work horse back was ineffective and suddenly, the Aggies who were once rolling, came completely derailed. A matchup looming against the ranked Aggies next week doesn't offer much reprieve either, this schedule isn't getting any easier and if this offense cannot come together, a 3-9 finish is entirely possible.

Following the game, Tyler Kozlov stated the team will try out Theo Peterson at quarterback, Peterson came in as a third string option but with his scrambling ability and good arm he could usurp the jack of all trades King if he performs well enough in practice leading up to Oklahoma.

Re: The Legacy of Tyler Kozlov

        Week 8 Recap

One of the top teams went down, and they went down hard. A week after lauding the Aggies rise to the top of the polls, they take a hard dive, with a 31-17 defeat as they allow the unranked Auburn Tigers to pile up 587 offensive yards on them, and scored all but 3 points in garbage time as the Tigers rolled out to an impressive 31-3 rout through three quarters.

Another upset pegged was the UCLA Bruins whom fall from the polls with another loss, the Bruins welcomed Pacific 12 newcomer, Boise State who piled up the points infront of the Bruins home faithful and completely destroyed the defense, bombarding them for 400 passing yards as the Broncos continue to middle in the Pacific 12 but make things exciting with their upsets none the less.

Louisville rebounds from a defeat to take down the Wolfpack, the Wolfpack managed to put up a good fight and in doing so managed to just barely stay alive in the polls, hanging onto the final spot in the rankings with just a few votes separating them from the rest of the pack.

In the game of the week, Virginia Tech Hokies completely rolled the Yellow Jackets in what many expected to be a closer game but what just further cements the Hokies as the number one team in the nation, no one expected this following Beamer's retirement, but this program is riding high and they just appear damn near unstoppable, which likely means they are due to be upset in the weeks to come, as per tradition whenever a team has looked too good in recent years.

Woo! A winning streak for Coach Warby! I hope they can keep it going.

That loss to Baylor sucks. I've played those games where my defense was awesome and limited them to just field goals but my offense couldn't score a TD to save their lives.

UAB is looking good so far, they've rebounded big!

It really sucks, I felt like I had every opportunity to win but just couldn't execute in the red zone, nothing I did worked and my defense played well beyond what was expected. Hopefully that defense with a quarterback change will help come about an upset or two!

Dannon Cavil's tenth touchdown of the season separated the two squads for good

              28 vs 44

Sooners offensive explosion takes care of Aggies who lose second consecutive game

Starting any game off with a 30 point streak is typically enough to carry any team, and it was definitely true on this day as the Sooners came into this one heavy favorites and emerged with an exciting victory over the home side. Even without Baker Mayfield in the backfield, and backup Cody Thomas starting due to injury, the Sooners did just fine in the passing attack as the backup tossed four touchdowns on 75% passing for just shy of 300 yards to earn player of the game honors.

The Sooners lost their boom on the ground game this season, with one of the league worst rush attacks, but it set the pace early with Samaje Perine breaking off several good runs that left the Aggies struggling to keep pace with the opposition. Perine was responsible for the first two scores, including a screen that would go for a touchdown. That would make it 0-9 after a safety sack on Theo Peterson's second drive with the first stringers. His second touchdown of the afternoon would jump the Sooners out to a 16-0 lead.

Just to make matters worse, on back to back drives the Sooners top wideout KJ Young broke past the secondary for huge touchdown completions of 63 and 68 yards that sparked a sizable lead for the Sooners. Both times he got open over the top and beat out his trailing cornerback and go untouched, the difference in talent none the more visible than on these plays, as Cody Thomas made a pair of brilliant throws that saw the Sooners lead shoot to 30 with just a minute and a half to go in the first half.

Despite this, the Aggies would outscore the Sooners 28-14 the rest of the way, with the Aggies getting their first score of the afternoon on an option keeper after a big pass completion put them inside the redzone and Theo Peterson tucked the ball to shift his way into the end zone, the Aggies first touchdown in over six quarters.

The team was quiet in the tunnel, and the locker room didn't have much spark, although the scrappy quarterback was meeting with Kozlov on some plays to see how to better utilize his talents and there would be some boon from it, but it would take most of the third quarter to show itself.

The Aggies launched everything they had at the opposition but it never amounted to all that much, the Utah State side just didn't have as much ammunition as the Sooners, and it showed, but they managed to add another score when Theo Peterson led his squad downfield and ran back to back curl plays, completing the pass to Cedrick Wright for a short touchdown reception to make it 14-30 after a failed two point conversion.

The Sooners didn't take kindly to a suddenly shrinking gap and rattled off back to back scoring drives, with Cody Thomas responsible for both scores. Thomas punched the ball in himself just before the whistle sounded to conclude the third quarter when a passing play broke down and the quarterback took it into his own hands. The lead extending to 14-37 and the fourth quarter loomed as the final opportunity, if the Aggies could score on every drive.

              They couldn't.

The Aggies would end out the game with 14 points to make the final score respectable, but in the closing moments adding those 14 were for little more than pride. LaJuan Hunt broke off his first long run in forever when he managed to slip outside and follow his blocking to barely pace the defender to the endzone, taking out the pylon in the process.

After forcing a three and out, the Aggies would get on the board again with JP Gipson being responsible for the touchdown reception when he caught a bullet of a pass over the corner shoulder of a cornerback to put up the touchdown, the Aggies didn't celebrate and the crowd didn't roar.

The onside kick bounced cleanly to the Sooners who recovered and proceeded to run out the clock on their tired and defeated opponents. Sending the Sooners away with their sixth straight victory and the Aggies with their second consecutive loss. Theo Peterson did terrific in his first game under center and would warrant a second start against Oklahoma State.

Kozlov at the very least can ride the hot hand, if Peterson slows, King can go back in and that at least makes it difficult for the opposition to gameplan for the Aggies who are appearing more and more needing of every possible advantage they can manage to stay competitive in a difficult Big 12.

                Week 9 Update

Eric Grant (HC) of the Idaho Vandals (SB)
                (3-4)(2-3) W 35-28 @ Wyoming Cowboys (1-6)
                323.1 OYDS (121) 20.8 PPG
                443.3 DYDS (112) 32 PAPG
Top Performer: Jake Luton (QB) 19-41 248 PaYds 3 TD 1 INT 53 RuYds 1 TD

Revenge at it's finest. After being stiffed for the Wyoming coaching gig, Eric Grant battled and bested his previous team and now sits two wins ahead of his former program with the Vandals third victory of the season, doing so despite injury to starting quarterback Matt Linehan holding him out of this one. The dual threat ability of Jake Luton came in big, while David Ungerer earned his keep with a pair of touchdown grabs and 72 receiving yards, with a team high 7 receptions.

Corey Warby (HC) of the UAB Blazers (SB)
                (3-5)(2-4) L 6-28 @ Georgia State (4-4)
                370.3 OYDS (91) 23.8PPG
                451.3 DYDS (118) 29.8 PAPG
Top Performer: Mike McQueen (OLB) 5 Tackles 1 INT

Jeremiah Briscoe has carried this team all season long, when he isn't there, this team doesn't have much fire power. Give credit to the Panthers for scheming past the quarterback and forcing him to just 36% completion percentage and more interceptions (2) than touchdowns (1). The fact that Briscoe was the teams leading rusher with 40 yards was a further indictment of this teams offensive ineptitude in this one. Briscoe would be responsible for the lone score for the Blazers on a touchdown pass, but in a show of futility, missed the extra point and they wouldn't every seriously threaten after entering the fourth with a 6-28 deficit.

John Valkyrie (HC) of the UL-Monroe Warhawks (SB)
                (1-6)(1-3) L 31-45 vs New Mexcio State (6-2)
                390.1 OYDS (72) 26.9 PPG
                409.9 DYDS (83) 37.4 PAPG
Top Performer: Anthony Monken (QB) 19-31 235 PaYds 2 TD 83 RuYds 1 TD

What does Monken have to do to get a victory? The quarterback has been playing terrific for the Warhawks but liabilities on the defensive end have spelled doom for this team. The Aggies do boast one of the most potent offenses in the Sunbelt, the 553 yards of offense with 29 first downs is representative of that, but this Warhawk defense is getting beaten on a weekly basis and it'll have to stop eventually if the Warhawks are going to right the ship, they sit now just a game away from elimination from the post season.

Quinn Retney (HC) of the UMass Minutemen (AMER)
                (2-6)(1-3) L 7-38 @ Virginia (2-5)
                321.1 OYDS (123) 19.9 PPG
                434.4 DYDS (108) 30.3 PAPG
Top Performer: Shakur Nesmith (WR) 1 Rec 89 ReYds 1 TD

After fighting the two top teams in the conference hard and stealing a victory, the Minutemen just caved out on Saturday against the Virginia Cavaliers. It was a poor showing from this squad whose player of the game got the honor for a huge reception at the end of the second quarter in a game where the Cavaliers opened with a 31-0 lead into the first half. The Cavaliers have struggled all season and aren't a force in the American, this loss should've been avoided, or at the very least closer. Quinn Retney will have to return to the drawing board and seek an ailing offense, his ground heavy game can't overcome their quarterback tossing a pair of interceptions and going 3-10 in the process.

                  Week 9 Recap

Oregon survives a thriller against their opponents from the south in Arizona, while Ohio State headlines the game of the week by knocking the Scarlet Knights from the unbeaten ranks in this weeks edition of college football wrap up that didn't disappoint in action.

The Oregon Ducks have had a down season to date, but weren't willing to fall from the polls entirely and willed a victory over the Arizona Wildcats when many didn't expect them to pull this one out due to the Wildcats having good matchups in key positions and the Ducks just not having quite the matchup strength.

The Buckeyes beat the Scarlet Knights in this weeks game of the week, even though the UF-UGA matchup was another close opportunity for that title, the Knights defeat sends them thundering down to earth, but the team vows to not let the loss define their season, their small fall in the polls is easily negligible if they can win out the rest of their games this season. The Buckeyes inversely put themselves back into the playoffs discussion with this victory.

The Northwestern Wildcats were another B1G team hoping to be a darkhorse playoff squad, what they didn't expect was the Iowa Hawkeyes to rally from a 14 point deficit to claim a victory in the final frame. The Hawkeyes field goal as time expired sent the stadium into an uproar, the Hawkeyes have had a poor season but this victory at the least gives them some pride and fire to fight with through the rest of the season.

The top two teams swapped in the polls, as voters were more impressed with the Gators tight victory over #9 Georgia than the Hokies rout of a .500 Duke squad, as the Florida Gators reclaim the top spot in the polls for the first time in what seems like it had been forever. While the two teams will fight it out through the rest of the season if they both win out it could give the voters an interesting decision for the final positioning and who gets the weakest first round matchup.

The Texas A&M Aggies were on the wrong end of a disappointing loss that has the Aggies quickly recalling the past few seasons where they came out strong and just fell apart as the season dragged on, another tough loss that will have the Aggies scrambling to fix their problems quickly to keep themselves in some kind of discussion for a good bowl game and/or the SEC.

                    Week 10 Update

Eric Grant (HC) of the Idaho Vandals (SB)
                    (3-5)(2-3) L 7-44 @ Washington State (5-3)
                    314.5 OYDS (125) 20.9 PPG

Top Performer: Jake Luton (QB) 15-29 121 PaYds 1 TD 1 INT 52 RuYds

While offensive coordinator at Wyoming, Eric Grant helped engineer an upset of the Cougars a season ago, but these Cougars weren't about to allow for a slip up again, this time it was the Vandals who would be routed. Without their top quarterback, the offense just couldn't keep up with the superior attack of the Washington State Cougars whom dominated across the board.

Corey Warby (HC) of the UAB Blazers (SB)
                    (4-5)(3-4) W 44-28 vs Troy Trojans (3-5)

Top Performer: Jeremiah Briscoe (QB) 24-43 427 PaYds 4 TD 3 RuYds

Jeremiah is back! Briscoe had a poor performance a week ago, and it seems the quarterback recooped to take home a decisive victory over the Troy Trojans, as the Blazers picked up a much needed win to come close to .500, the Blazers could rally to a bowl game this season and if Briscoe keeps playing as he does, especially so today (427 PaYds 4 TD 55% Comp) than he will lead this Blazers squad to a postseason birth.

John Valkyrie (HC) of the UL-Monroe Warhawks (SB)
                    (2-6)(2-3) W 56-21 vs Old Dominion (2-6)
                    409.3 OYDS (54) 30.5 PPG
                    393.4 DYDS (63) 35.4 PAPG
Top Performer: D'Marius Gillespie (WR) 11 Rec 217 ReYds 3 TD

This one had to feel good for the Warhawks who hung a season high 56 on the Old Dominion Monarchs. The Monarchs are one of the worst teams in the Sunbelt and at the very least the Warhawks differentiated themselves by rolling with an easy victory ove rthe opposition. Anthony Monken had another monster game going 21-32 for 5 touchdowns and just 1 interception. Stepping up for the Warhawks was the stepped up play by D'Marius Gillespie, the senior wideout tore up the opposition with 11 receptions for 218 yards and a trio of touchdowns. Embarrassing the Monarchs in this one, the Warhawks improve to 2-6 and keep their slim bowl hopes alive.

The Minutemen are really sputtering down the stretch of the season and while losing David Gray has hurt them, it shouldn't hurt this bad, but the offense has been a shell of it's former self without the sophomore in the starting lineup. Rufus Fagan churned out over 150 yards on the ground, but allowing over 200 rushing yards and a yard shy of 200 passing, and giving up 3 turnovers, they didn't have much of a shot, without the turnovers this would be closer, but with 21 points off the turnovers, they kept any hopes of a tight game at bay.

Mason Rudolph celebrates what ended up being the game winning touchdown

                      17 @ 21

Cowboys rally to knock off Aggies

The Cowboys were coming into this game running high, as they sought to continue their winning ways. Even so, it seems that the Aggies were going to take care of that problem, with a pair of touchdowns to open the game and all around shutting down the Cowboys high octane attack for the first quarter. It wouldn't last however as the Cowboys mounted a comeback to claim victory over their opposition.

The Aggies attack was high powered as Theo Peterson came up tremendously in action this week after falling to the Sooners a week ago. Peterson seemed to put all that to bed as he balanced a high powered offense that drove downfield on both of their possessions in the first quarter to claim a 14-0 lead that no one expected and silenced the home crowd.

The first coming when Theo Peterson drove his team downfield, than on the goalline, Peterson kept the ball on a read option and forced it upfield, punching it into the end zone for a score. Theo Peterson raised his hands in celebration after the score and his teammates wrapped him up in an embrace as they lifted out to an early victory.

The next drive, it was the ground game once more pounded out a great drive that ultimately would end on a pitch out to Kennedy Williams and he would manage to turn the corner, getting the end zone just before the first quarter expired. The team shot out to a 14-0 lead, but that wouldn't hold up due to a 21-0 run that would steal the victory from Tyler Kozlov's squad.

A pair of field goals late in the second quarter made the game a single possession game heading into the second half. The crowd was mild, it wanted to cheer it's boys to victory, yet as the team struggled for two quarters and was held without a touchdown, a rare feat for the Aggies.

The Cowboys wouldn't be behind for very long, scoring on their first drive to knot up the game, Mason Rudolph drove his team downfield with an efficient passing attack, and a playaction pass on the goal line set up an easy touchdown pass to a wide open Brett Wynn, Wynn a true freshman got a strong reception from his teammates, who swarmed him as the team fell behind by just two points. The two point conversion would be a run off tackle that would be easily scored.

A tie game and suddenly the crowd came to life, and to make matters worse, on the next Aggies drive it was Theo Peterson who left the game with an injury and not return, bringing in George King to try and lead the Aggies to a victory. Peterson was later announced that his injury could be serious enough to cause him to miss the rest of the season, the second quarterback to fall out.

George King would give a quick three and out and out came the Cowboys who were fired up, and just four plays later, Mason Rudolph took a run to the outside and broke free for a touchdown, kneeling down in the end zone to celebrate the score, it would be the game winning score for the Cowboys. The Aggies would add a field goal to close out the third, and not score again.

The Aggies would get into field goal range once more, but opt to go for it on fourth down and would see a George King pass rocket to the barrier out of bounds. The Aggies would manage to drive on their final drive of the game, but due to poor clock management, a completion to the 1 to notch a first down with no time outs, would see the final 8 seconds of the game slip away without a play being called.

An embarrassing end to a day where the Aggies had a serious opportunity to claim a victory. "It's hard. That's all I can say, but we take on one of the best teams in the country next week and we have to shift our focus to that. We fought these guys hard, and we nearly got the win, our goal next week is to claim that victory and send Kansas State home with their first."

                        Week 10 Review

The Hokies may not be at the top spot in the polls, but their halfback shot up to the top spot in the Heisman race, Marshawn Williams reclaimed the top spot in the heisman race and the Hokies remained undefeated, unlike their ACC counterpart in Georgia Tech who took an ugly defeat.

Shifting attention to the B1G, the Nebraska Cornhuskers took care of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, sending them home with their second straight loss and sending them all the way down to #15. The Scarlet Knights were undefeated two weeks ago, and now sit with two losses and another could take them out of the top 25 entirely.

LSU sent another team home with a defeat, the Tigers upset the Alabama Crimson Tide. The Tide were knocking teams off left and right and appeared to be a serious threat to be undefeated and potentially slip their way to a SEC Championship (against #1 Florida). This loss sends them down a few spots, down to #8, just one spot of the LSU Tigers.

San Diego beating the UNLV Rebels by three touchdowns was enough to boost the undefeated Aztecs to the top ten. The Mountain West has been giving excellent teams to college football. BYU had a national championship appearance and a playoff appearance, now the Aztecs are poised to make a run at the playoffs. It'd be quite a shock, the Aztecs are benefitting from the new playoff system.

Kansas State saw the end zone a lot on Saturday

                          0 vs #3 65

                          Aggies blanked, Wildcats decimate them

The Aggies brought home the Kansas State Wildcats, the Wildcats whom are undefeated, didn't even need to be bothered with the Aggies on Saturday. 65 Points are what they hung on an entirely helpless Aggies squad whom without their top quarterback and a ground game that was embarrassing at best, the Aggies were blanked on Saturday.

Jesse Ertz even left the game for most of the second quarter, giving the Aggies some hope for the rest of the game. The Wildcats were up 0-17, but the Aggies were starting to mount an offensive and drove into the opposition territory, but in the redzone, George King tossed his third interception of the afternoon, and with back up Cary Ryan under the helm, he would toss back to back touchdowns on two consecutive drives, both quick drives that shot them downfield and both would end with Judah Jones scoring touchdowns, and even with the absence of their starting quarterback, the Wildcats went into the half up 31-0.

The beat down didn't stop there, as the Wildcats actually scored more in the second half. Two defensive touchdowns added to that. Back-up Willie Prater jumped a route and intercepted the ball, and he wouldn't be caught. Prater's touchdown made it 38-0, Judah Jones added another touchdown before starting safety Sean Newlan reeled in the sixth interception of the game on quarterback George King.

Newlan would weave through the reeling offense and score the touchdown that put them up 52-0 in an embarrassing game infront of the home crowd, the offense was entirely inept under George King, as the Aggies sought to use more passing, with King being the final quarterback left on the roster healthy. Judah Jones would close out the game with two more touchdowns, his fourth and fifth touchdown.

The Wildcats had 409 yards of offense, which isn't all that much considering the degree that the Wildcats battered the Aggies. The staggering figure was the eight turnovers, 7 of which were interceptions and all 8 came from George King. King nearly tied the record for interceptions thrown in a game, a record in place by John Reaves, back in 1969 in a contest between Florida and Auburn.

Inversely, wide receiver Judah Jones had an incredible game, with five touchdowns he took it upon himself to put points on the board and in a big way, and his player of the game honors were very much deserved, the top receiver for one of the best programs in the country, Kansas State's victory gives them some much needed confidence for the final quarter of the season.

"This was a horrible game. This was easily the worst game I've ever coached and it's straight up embarrassing. We didn't fight, contest or battle and we just conceded. We are running sprints every day this week, we are fighting for every yard and we are going to get better. We draw a very good West Virginia squad next week, and we sure as hell aren't going to take a defeat like this one again. Otherwise there will be changes. This is embarrassing, no fight at all, I'm genuinely disappointed."

                            Week 11 Update

Top Performer: Jake Luton (QB) 13-21 210 PaYds 2 TD 106 RuYds 2 TD

Jake Luton put his team on his shoulders. In the first quarter he broke off a tremendous 49 yard touchdown rush that broke the scoring open for the Vandals, and despite allowing a furious rally from the Lobos in the second quarter, a successful two minute drill led by Luton saw him fake out the defense on a running clock by running a read option with him tucking and scoring. That lit a fire for the Vandals who came out of the tunnel to score fourteen unanswered and ultimately take a 28-13 lead on the Lobos, and thye wouldn't be overly close the rest of the way.

Corey Warby (HC) of the UAB Blazers (SB)
                            (5-5)(3-4) W 49-42 vs Marshall (6-3)

Top Performer: Jeremiah Briscoe (QB) 24-42 527 PaYds 5 TD 24 RuYds 1 TD

Jeremiah broke out for over 500 passing yards as it appears he has settled into this system at the perfect time. The Blazers struggled early but this victory is a huge testament to how far this team has come along, Briscoe's 500+ passing yards with 5 touchdowns spearheaded the offensive performance, and Collin Lisa had over 200 receiving yards and s ingle touchdown. The Blazers outlasted the Thundering Herd, getting the game winning touchdown pass when Briscoe hooked up with Collin Lisa for a touchdown inside the three minute mark of this contest. These Blazers have the #4 passing attack in the country!

John Valkyrie (HC) of the UL-Monroe Warhawks (SB)
                            (2-7)(2-4) L 31-34 @ Arkansas State (5-4)

Top Performer: Anthony Monken (QB) 18-26 274 PaYds 4 TD 1 INT 31 RuYds

The Warhawks took on John Valkyries former squad where the coach was a coordinator but it was his former team that walked away with a victory, starting and finishing strong. On the opening drive, Anthony Monken was intercepted and it would be brought back for a touchdown, and on the next Arkansas State drive, they would put up another score. The Warhawks would battle back with Anthony Monken spearheading the offensive attack, but despite this the Warhawks couldn't come back. Allowing a touchdown in the final minute when his former quarterback showcased his leg and scrambled for a touchdown, the Red Wolves bested their former coach.

Quinn Retney (HC) of the UMass Minutemen (AMER)
                            (3-7)(2-4) W 28-25 @ Memphis Tigers (4-5)
                            316.2 OYDS (125) 20.1 PPG
                            421.8 DYDS (96) 31.3 PAPG
Top Performer: Rufus Fagan (HB) 41 Car 197 RuYds 3 TD

Thanks to a second quarter explosion and three consecutive touchdown rushes by their halfback, the Minutemen took a big confidence boosting victory. Beating a Memphis squad that's above .500 in American play is definitely a noteworthy victory and the Minutemen have a lot of positives heading into next season. Coach Q has his third win, getting more wins in one season than the Minutemen have ever had previously since their move to the FBS. It may not appear much from the outside, but playing in an upper tier mid-major, he has this team doing things that haven't been done at the program before. This win is a big confidence booster.

                                Week 11

Wisconsin couldn't stay atop the Northwestern Wildcats, the Gators assert their dominance atop the polls, Oklahoma staves off an upset to keep their fading playoff hopes alive.

In what was largely a slow week of college football, there were a few key games that we were able to focus upon, the Wisconsin Badgers traveled south to Evanston to take on the Northwestern Wildcats. For the Badgers it was a very forgettable performance, as they managed just 17 points against a spry Northwestern squad which put up 28 points to claim a victory over the favored Badgers and find themselves holding pat in the polls with a victory.

The Gators are the present favorites to claim the SEC and the top seed in college football and is one of the final four teams that are undefeated. The Gators left no question marks in their contest against the South Carolina Gamebirds, absolutely wrecking them with Brandon Powell churning out over 100 yards on the ground and making a good amount of plays for the offensive end as the Gators starters got to rest the final quarter of this contest.

The Oregon Ducks have had a fairly disappointing season by their standards with some ugly early season losses behind them, they managed to avoid another one here, staving off the California Golden Bears in a tight matchup that nearly stunned the Ducks yet again.

Oklahoma brought the Texas Tech Red Raiders to their home turf and were two touchdown favorites to best the Texas based program, but the Raiders would beat the spread, losing by just three as the Raiders very nearly sent the Big 12 into disarray with an opportunity to knock off the Sooners, but a late interception spelled the end of their upset hopes.
