Re: One Moore Time, A Coaching Career on NCAA14

Will #1 Florida State play in a 3rd straight title game? Sportswriters think so, but the Seminoles will face a very tough schedule to get their with a Week 2 matchup vs #5 Navy, Week 3 vs #17 South Carolina and Week 4 @ #25 Michigan State as well as road games @ Florida and @ #14 Clemson.

Ohio State starts the year #2, but like FSU they have a schedule that features 5 games vs Top-25 preseason teams including a Week 14 matchup vs #7 Michigan.

Boise State starts the year #3 after finishing last season #2 and undefeated. Will this be the year the Broncos finally get a chance to play for a National Title? Their non-conference schedule leads one to believe they could very well finish undefeated with home games vs UConn, USF and #24 Georgia Tech and a road game @ Troy. They also play their 2 biggest conference rivals #15 Oregon and #16 Washington both at home.

Alabama starts the year #4 and is looking to take the easy road this season playing zero games vs Preseason Top-25 teams until Week 10 vs #9 LSU and Week 14 @ #11 Auburn.

Navy starting the year #5 has created noise throughout the nation, and with matchups vs #23 Texas A&M, @ #1 FSU, vs #13 Notre Dame, @ #19 Syracuse, it looks like the Midshipsmen are not running from any fights.

    The Rest of the Top-25
    #6 UCLA
    #7 Michigan
    #8 Texas
    #9 LSU
    #10 Iowa

RAM'S OFFENSE EXPLODES AT MILE HIGH

      GAME RECAP
The 2021 season kicked off with a bang as Colorado State's offense explodes in the 2nd Quarter in their rivalry matchup with Colorado.

The Buff's got on the scoreboard first kicking a 45 yd FG with just under 5 minutes to play in the 1st, but CSU answers as A. Clayton hits B. Baker for a 9 yd score to make it (7-3) as we go into the 2nd.

The 2nd Quarter would feature a combined 48 points and 5 turnovers from both teams. JR QB Anthony Clayton would also break the CSU school record for most TD's in a game as he toss's 5 TD's in the quarter to go with his 3 INT's..

Clayton's 2nd TD of the game went to FR W. Matthews (23 yds) then another strike to B. Baker (26 yds) before hitting C. Wright on a 4 yd slant, then back to Matthews for a 28 yd bomb and then with 40 seconds to play D. Flanagan gets into the action with a 14 yd catch and score to make it (42-16) at the half.

Clayton then opened the 2nd half with breaking the school record as he finds C. Wright on a 11 yd score to make it (49-16). But another INT (his 4th of the day) and 2 fumbles would lead to 2 score by Colorado (28 yd FG) and a 4 yd run to make it (49-26) as we head to the 4th Quarter.

With 363 yds 7 TD's, 4 INT and 2 Fumbles to go with a 23 point lead, Clayton's day is done, as FR J. Magnum takes over. Magnum's first series wasn't pretty as he completes just 2 pass's with 1 of them being to the wrong team, but a the Defense once again steps up securing their 4th turnover of the game as well as they intercept Buff's J. Brown for the 3rd time.

With a 2nd chance Magnum delivers throwing his 1st career TD to TE T. Martin (9 yds) and then with 1:32 to play Magnum finds B. Baker for a 3 yd score.

      FINAL SCORE CSU-63 CU-26

      KEY PLAYERS
      A. Clayton-22/34 363 yds 7 TD 4 INT, 24 yds rushing 2 fumbles
      J. Magunm-11/16 165 yds 2 TD 1 INT

      C. DeAngelis-16 carries 56 yds
      C. Hayes-10 carries 27 yds

      B. Baker-9 rec 134 yds 3 TD
      T. Martin-7 rec 138 yds 1 TD
      D. Flanagan-6 rec 139 yds 1 TD
      C. Wright-5 rec 43 yds 2 TD
      W. Matthews-4 rec 75 yds 2 TD

      J. Lawerence 8 Tackles 2 sacks 1 INT

      M. Lyles-5 kick returns for 186 yds including a 55 yd long, 8 punt returns for 68 yds.

      Coach Moore
"I was very impressed with how the team played and how they recovered from each mistake. Yes 7 turnovers isn't something I am happy about but we got 4 of those back from our own Defense and Overall I felt like Clayton played well despite his lack of decision making. When throw the ball 34 times mistakes will be made. When your 5'11 and 180 lbs and take some big hits from LB's fumbles happen. It's something we dealt with last year and it's something we will continue to work on."

good to have you back in the game! and WOW with the 9 passing TD's in one game. I had a 7 TD gamer earlier in my 2014 season which also broke a school record for ole ULM but 9 is pretty impressive. Would have been hard to beat if Clayton would have gotten all nine. I am happy to see my boy Magnum getting some playing time though!

It was a crazy game. I am just glad I wasn't the only one that was turnover prone. Pretty hard to keep Clayton in with such a big lead and it was good to get Magnum some action early in the season. Started out shaky but completed 12/12 in his 2 touchdown drives.

RAMS WIN HOME OPENER OVER WARRIORS!!

              GAME RECAP

Hawaii won the toss and elected to kick. Matt Lyles got things started out with a bang as he returns the kick 31 yds, before being taken down by a TD saving tackle.

But CSU wouldn't waste time finding the endzone as Clayton finds C. Wright on a 33 yd bomb to put the Rams on the scoreboard in just 3 plays. (7-0). A Hawaii fumble would lead to the Rams 2nd TD of the quarter as Clayton hits FB J. Carpenter out of the backfield. Carpenter runs over 4 defenders before taking the ball to the house (36 yds) to make it (14-0) as we go into the 2nd Quarter.

Hawaii finally gets on the scoreboard in the 2nd as C. Smith scores from 5 yds out and then after a Clayton INT, the Warriors tie the game (14-14) as D. Fuller plunges in from 1 yd out.

Clayton however rebounds from his earlier IN, but completing 5/6 pass's on the Ram's next drive including a 10 yd strike to B. Baker to make it (21-14).
Another Hawaii fumble then leads to a C. DeAngelis 1 yd run as CSU makes it (28-14) with 3 minutes to play in the half.

After forcing the punt it looked like the Ram's would have 1 more opportunity to put points on the board in the 1st half, but a Clayton INT ends those thoughts and Hawaii manages to add a 28 yd FG before time runs out (28-17).

The 3rd Quarter was all CSU, as Clayton scores on the ground with a 16 yd run and then finds TE T. Martin on a 2 yd strike to make it (42-17) going into the 4th.

Hawaii opens the 4th Quarter with a score as QB B. Moore (no relation to Kellen) keeps it and scrambles in from 10 yds out. The Warriors go for 2pt making it (42-25). Clayton answers back with a 2 yd keeper of his own his 6th TD of the day to make it (49-25) with 5 minutes to play. The Warriors however would add another score with just under a minute to play as Moore keeps the ball on a read option that completely fooled the defense.

              FINAL SCORE COLORADO STATE-49 HAWAII-32

              KEY PLAYERS
              A. Clayton-27/37 406 yds 4 TD 2 INT, 17 carries 110 yds 2 TD

RAMS IMPROVE TO 3-0 BUT STILL UNRANKED!!

                  GAME RECAP

Colorado State continues to impress most across the country with their high scoring passing attack, but not Top-25 voters. Despite the Rams 3-0, #1 passing attack (413 yds), #2 Total Offense (567 yds) and #2 PPG Avg (47.7), Colorado State currently sits #28 among the votes.

The Rams dominated the first half as Clayton pass's for 2 TD's and runs for another giving CSU the (21-3) lead.

CSU would another TD through the air as Clayton finds M. Robinson for his 2nd TD of the game to make it (28-3) and P. Love would add a 21 yd FG to make it (31-3) going into the 4th.

Clayton opened up the 4th with a INT leading to the Jayhawks first score of the game (31-10). With the 3 score lead, Coach Moore decided it was time to see some more of his FR QB J. Magnum.

Magnum impressed in the Ram's Week 1 win over Colorado, but today he was a different day. Magnum's first attempt was picked off which lead to another Kansas score and then with less then a minute to play, Magnum would go to the air 1 more time again getting picked off. as he finishes just 1/3 with 2 INT.

RAM'S "W" COMES AT HUGE COST!!!

                      GAME RECAP
Colorado State came out with the victory over (3-0) K-State, but it came at a huge cost as start QB Anthony Clayton dislocates his knee and is expected to miss at least the next 7 weeks.

Clayton was injuried early in the 1st Quarter and left the game having completed just 3/6 pass's for 18 yds.

Freshman J. Magnum would take over, but struggled early tossing 2 INT's which lead to Colorado State trailing (14-0) going into the 2nd Quarter.

Magnum would finally find the endzone as he hits D. Flanagan (11 yds) to make it (14-7), but after a 36 yd FG by K-State (17-7) another Magnum INT would lead to another Wildcats TD with 1:32 to play in the half (24-7).

                      P. Love manage to connect on a 19 yd FG as time expires after Magnum manages to hit T. Martin on a 22 yd strike to set up the kick.

Magnum would shake off the earlier picks opening up the 2nd half with a 13 play scoring drive capped by a 3 yd pass to FR W. Matthews (24-17) and then fellow FR RB C. Hayes would find the endzozne on a 1 yd run to tie the game (24-24) as we head into the 4th.

SR RB C. DeAngelis puts the Rams up (31-24) with a 1 yd run to open the 4th Quarter scoring. K-State answers back to tie the game (31-31) with less then 5 minutes to play, but Magnum would manage to find C. Wright for the winning TD with just under 3 minutes to play.

                      Coach Moore
"Let's be real. Losing A. Clayton is a huge blow to our offense. I am not taking anything away from how good Jakari can and will be by the time he leaves CSU as a Senior, but we have a tough road ahead. Jakari's 1st start will be next week against #23 Oklahoma in Norman. Gaylord-Oklahoma Memorial is currently the #5th toughest stadium to play in"

Re: One Moore Time, A Coaching Career on NCAA14

I am all caught up with games and posting. I am packing today for a week stay in Vegas next week. I drive to Boise tomorrow and fly out Monday morning, as I am attending and playing in the Las Vegas Challenge Disc Golf tournament, if any of you are fellow disc throwers.

I will most likely try and get the Oklahoma game played at some point today though as it is currently dumping snow outside my house (great week to leave Eastern Oregon and head to Vegas). I don't expect great results. Magnum skills, but is not as mobile as Clayton, so I am probably going to need to get the run game going if I have any chance at pulling off the upset. The good new is I have 4 wins, so as long as Magnum can manage to win at least a couple of his starts, and Clayton can return for the final 3 weeks of the season, I feel like we still have a good shot at repeating out 10 win season.

Thanks again for those who follow and comment.

                            RAMS PULL OFF MAJOR UPSET!!!

                            GAME RECAP

Defense shined in the 1st Half as both teams struggled to move the ball, as both teams Field Goal units got plenty of work.

CSU's P. Love connected on kicks of 50 yds and 40 yds, well Oklahoma's S. Mason connected from 46 yds and 49 yds making it 6-6 with less 5 minutes to play.

The Sooners offensive struggles continued as starting QB M. Mitchell goes out with a injury leaving RS FR J. Chirstensen to take over. Mitchell was 6/15 for 73 yds when he was forced from the game.

The Ram's would finally find the endzone as Magnum sells the play action finding star WR B. Baker wide open for a 48 yd bomb (13-6). Then after a Christensen INT it was C. DeAngelis punching in another score from 1 yd out with 58 seconds to play in the half (20-6).

Oklahoma would start with the ball in the 2nd half, but another Christensen INT ended their series, and CSU took advantage of it as Magnum finds Baker again this time on a 5 yd slant to make it (27-6) but a Christensen keeper finally puts the Sooners in the endzone (27-13) and a J. Magnum INT (his 2nd of the game) leads to another S. Mason (51 yd FG) to make it (27-16) as we head to the 4th.

Magnum would open up the 4th Quarter with his 3rd INT of the game which would lead to a R. Whitaker 4 yd TD run. OU would manage to convert the 2pt conversion to make it (27-24) with 6 minutes to play.

With Magnum and the run game struggling, Colorado State would have to settle for a 26 yd FG with 1:56 to play giving the Sooners 1 more chance to win the game. (30-24). However the Ram's Defense would hold forcing a turnover on downs and with 3 seconds to play Love would connect on his 4th FG of the day (35 yds out) to seal the victory.

                            FINAL SCORE COLORADO STATE-33 OKLAHOMA-24

                            KEY PLAYERS

                            C. DeAngelis-31 carries 110 yds 1 TD

                            B. Baker-5 rec 107 yds 2 TD
                            T. Martin-4 rec 54 yds
                            D. Flanagan-4 rec 45 yds
                            W. Matthews-3 rec 54 yds

WITH THE WIN, COLORADO STATE IMPROVES TO 5-0 AND MOVES INTO THE TOP-25 AT #21. NEXT WEEK THEY FACE (1-4) WYOMING IN THE BORDER WAR.

                              Huge win! Congrats!

Hey i have a question in my dynasty I just finished the second off season. My contract had expired so I renewed with a 5 yr extension so I could play with my class I redshirted last year (big mistake, will post later tonight) anywho it said I couldn't accept another contract until this one was done.

Am I now stuck at ULM for five more years or will I get the opportunity to move on to a bigger school if I'm offered?

I am not sure, I believe you can still take another job. I always look at like they are buying out your contract if you move on.
