That was about as evenly matched as I expected, sucks that you lost the turnover battle and that played a big factor in the result. Feel like you'll be kicking yourself after that one because it was so winnable, and it really could have springboarded Henderson into Heisman contention I feel like. He might still get there, but that was the type of win to take control of the division and eventually enter the Top 25.

CPU loves to get stopped at the 1 and punch it in haha. Thought we'd pull it off too.

That was the difference between a great season and a good one. We were right there, turnovers killed us and that blown coverage on the deep ball. Maybe next year for Henderson's Heisman hopes, along with a top 25 appearance. I think we'll win out and end the regular season 9-3 though.

Tempers flare in practice, Campbell suspended after Twitter spat with Henderson

Westlake, OH -- Westlake State suffered a tough loss last Saturday, falling to #3 UCF in a game that likely decided the division. Some players clearly took it harder than others, as tailback Kevin Campbell took to social media to air out his frustrations, implying that he would have done a better job at QB than Henderson. Henderson called Campbell a clown, asking why Campbell couldn't just speak to him face to face, and said "see you at practice."

Apparently Campbell took that personally, with our source telling us he walked into the locker room and immediately confronted Henderson. Henderson laughed it off, telling Campbell "this is my team" and the pair were separated. But that wasn't the end of it, as Campbell has refused to take reps at tailback this week, and has been spotted sitting on the bench while the team scrimmages.

Campbell has been suspended for 3 games, at minimum, but he's likely played his final snaps at Westlake State.

We were able to reach Campbell for comment, and he was adamant that he wanted a shot at playing QB, and seemingly threatening to transfer if he doesn't get the opportunity. His full quote is below.

I'm a QB. Period. I can run but I can throw too. This is ridiculous that I'm not getting a shot at all, B.J.'s played well, I guess, but it's mostly the playmakers in my humble opinion. Just saying, I'm on track to get early graduation, and I heard some teams need a QB! [laughs]

Coach Barkley's Take

We should smack these guys. Their offense has sucked and their defense hasn't been great. We're mad at the loss last week, we can take it out on these guys. Julian Dotson has a great arm (86 thp, 89 tha) but sucks at making reads (68 awr). Their Air Raid offense hinges on his ability to throw the ball.

Defensively, Nick Keyes (93 spd, 91 awr, 99 mcv, 99 zcv, 82 prs) is a surefire pro, but they haven't got anyone else that can give us problems in the pass game.

We're going to kill these guys, I'm mad about the loss last week, my team is mad about the loss last week, I'm calling a big showing from the offense, hoepfully the defense can keep them to 24 or so.

I think Campbell is going to transfer, sucks to lose him but it is what it is. Henderson is our guy, and he did play well in a tough loss.

Heartbreaker of a loss, thought that maybe this was the year for the conference to be yours. I will say that Meeks has been an unreal surprise at WR, the guy has been a stud and seems to have that perfect chemistry with BJ.

Here's to hoping that Henderson comes back next season for that one final bite at the cherry, because otherwise you could be in for a struggle and a regression if you can't find an immediate successor at the QB position. Shame that Campbell seemed like maybe he could be a mobile choice if he could just keep his head on straight, but you definitely don't need a locker room cancer like that.

Man, heartbreaker is an understatement. We battled back from a poor start, and to lose on blown coverage really stings, especially since Henderson put up a good game against a very stingy defense. They did get the forced fumble and the pick though, and that ended up costing us along with the missed FG. Meeks has been nuts, he's one of those guys that seems to play above his ratings, only 80 CTH, 64 CIT and yet he makes contested grabs all the time. Nearly 1000 yards with 4 games to go (unless we somehow make the CCG), if he plays this well next year he could even sneak into the 7th round. Has been huge in stepping up as the #1 receiver.

I think Henderson should and will come back, I looked at real life and G5 QBs generally don't declare early, plus players don't really do it that much in NCAA anyway. The way I've envisioned Henderson's character (I do this for every player haha, maybe you remember Thomas Green from my last Swarm dynasty) is that he's a hard worker, committed to his teammates and wants to do the best he can before moving on. Also the fact that this season is currently the outlier, he had 22 TD/22 INT for his career before 2019, so I feel like he'd realistically be a day 2 pick if he declared. I hope he does return cause we are otherwise screwed. I'm likely gonna do a coin flip to decide whether Campbell stays or not, he could be an option but his accuracy is low 70s, our backup Phillips is at a 70. Kevin Houston coming in is a solid 3 star pickup, but he's not super fast, not a big arm, solid accuracy at a 79 but we'd lose the big play threat almost entirely. I'm definitely worried for our offense after Henderson though, hopefully we get a prestige bump (still a 1 even after last season), so I can open up recruiting a bit and hopefully pick up a gem prospect.

Appreciate it man! I actually just checked up on your Kentucky thread and you flew through a season yourself, I was surprised to see it go by so quick.

I always like to give players personality, and I'm going to be doing more of it when the pace slows down once I'm doing school again.

Haha not in school just yet, should be starting the online courses in a few weeks. When I do that, this will likely slow down a bit. Soccer is a time commitment, but it's really only 2-3 hours a day as of right now, I'm not going to be on a serious team schedule until the spring due to an injury I'm working through. No worries about not being in the thread, I honestly don't comment on anyone's threads unless I'm in dynasty mode in front of the Xbox either. Glad you like the content!
