Barkley announces 2 QB system

Westlake, OH -- Dion Barkley has announced his plan to pick a starting QB: Let them play for it. With B.J. Henderson healthy again after his wrist injury, he's returned to full practice and has looked good. But Jones has played a lot better so far, throwing for 437 yards, 6 scores and 2 picks on 31/61 (50.8%) passing compared to Henderson's 269 yards, no scores and 3 picks on 17/42 (40.5%) passing. But Henderson is more talented, that is clear. He's a better athlete with a bigger arm, and has made more impressive plays when he has played.

Similar to what Michigan did in the 90s with Tom Brady and Brian Griese, Barkley has said that he plans to start B.J. Henderson, then put Stan Jones in for the second quarter. Whoever plays better will play the rest of the game.

I doubt either guy is happy with the arrangement, and Barkley didn't say how long this will go on for. We'll see how it goes against Navy.

Coach Barkley's Take

If we stop Ayden Douglas from getting big chunks, we win this game. End of story. James Richards has a huge arm but isn't very accurate, isn't all that athletic so he shouldn't give us too much trouble. Defensively, they have a few really good players, but there are clear weak spots.

What’s the deal with Henderson? Looks like he has better stats across the board, but Jones has clearly put up better numbers so far and Henderson has really struggled!

Ughhhhhhhhhhhh so close! I know it's hard to get excited about these tough losses and moral victories, but you've got something good here with this team it looks like and that should hopefully show in actual wins come AAC play. Like the move to the 2QB system - Jones has certainly shown that he deserves to play, and Henderson has high enough ratings so that he shouldn't lose his job right away. Hopefully it doesn't lead to a lack of flow in the offense.

It's been 3 losses that have all come differently, really frustrating. I actually like how the Ohio State one played out, with them running up a lead then kind of going into autopilot and it nearly costing them, you see that happen all the time IRL and that's why I love my slider set. I feel like when we get that first win, we'll win 3 or 4 in a row.

Thanks man, presentation has been something I've worked at a TON, I was awful when I did my first dynasty report. Highlights do work, you just need to have an internal hard drive for your Xbox/PS3. Thumb drives won't do it, if that's what you use.

It was a really good game, we almost managed the comeback and my aggressive blitzes rattled Valentine, we forced him to make quick decisions and he wasn't great at it.

Henderson is meant to be the better QB, but so far he just hasn't gotten in rhythm and has tried to do too much. Only played 5 quarters though. Jones just feels much more reliable, even though he can't make the big chunk plays the same way.

I really wish we at least hadn't blown the lead to Nevada. That's a really tough one. I don't want to bench Henderson, cause then I'd probably lose him to a transfer (my own storyline, the game probably wouldn't do that), but Jones has played WAY better. The AAC isn't that good, we aren't outmatched ratings wise by anyone really. Worth noting that Nevada went 12-2 last season, Boise 9-4 I believe, and Ohio State is Ohio State, and they won a chip 2 seasons ago. So we haven't lost to bad teams.

Thanks for checking in guys! I'm going to get the Navy game out by the end of the day, I just sat down and tried to play it and actually quit out because of how OP the run game was. I'm talking 97 yard score where their 82 speed fullback is burning my entire defense, and then I go on a long drive only for them to run in a 75 yarder. Not like they were realistic long gainers either, it was very cheesy. It's weird, every time I play an option team I find myself having to lower their RBA because for whatever reason, their backs all run like prime Adrian Peterson. Run game plays realistically against every other scheme, but the option is too good. I don't get it. Gonna give it another shot, if I give up 700 on the ground then so be it.

Tough to fall in another loss, but like you said the variety that you are seeing is definitely worthwhile. I may have to buy into the fatigue off life next season to really up the challenge in my own dynasty!

Gotta make the jump man, I never ever in a million years would have had Nevada with a 29 point 4th quarter like that with fatigue on. I actually thought you had it off, your games are always competitive all the way, I don't see the CPU giving up.
