Seminoles Overcome Turnovers to Run Through Boston College

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Chubba Purdy struggled again with four turnovers but it wasn't enough to stop Florida State from dominating the game and winning 49-13. Lawrence Toafili was the standout with 168 yards on just 13 carries and scoring two touchdowns.

The first quarter started rough for Purdy has he was intercepted by Kameron Arnold. Boston College couldn't capitalize however as Dwayne Dukes would miss a 53 yard field goal. Purdy would bounce back with a 19 yard touchdown pass to Bryan Robinson to make it 7-0. Dukes would then miss another field goal, this one from 46 yards out.

The second quarter would be more in favor of the Seminoles. Adam Ross would punch in a touchdown from a yard out to make it 14-0. Boston College would respond with Matt Valecce throwing a three yard touchdown to Taji Johnson to make it 14-7. On the Eagles' next possession, Valecce would be intercepted by Brendan Gant. Florida State would capitalize and Toafili would take a run 88 yards to the house to make it 21-7 before the half.

The third quarter would be a rough one for Purdy as he would fumble twice both times it would be caused and picked up by Kameron Arnold. In between the fumbles, Johnson would get a 25 yard touchdown pass from Valecce. Dukes would have his extra point blocked making it 21-13. A bad kicking day for him. Purdy would find La'Damian Webb out of the backfield for a 41 yard touchdown pass to put them up 28-13.

The fourth quarter would be when Florida State shut the game down. Purdy would find Kentron Poitier for a 15 yard touchdown pass. Toafili and Webb would finish the game off with a couple of rushing touchdowns and the defense would shut down Boston College to pick up the 49-13 victory.
