"From Bottom Feeders To Apex Predators" - A Miami Dolphins Franchise

    PSX_20210205_162031.jpg

The Miami Dolphins have been stuck in purgatory since the mid-1980s. Since 1985, the Dolphins have won their division just five times. Despite having arguably the greatest quarterback to never win a Super Bowl in Dan Marino and arguably the greatest Head Coach of All-Time in Don Shula, the Dolphins were overshadow by the Dallas Cowboys in the 1990s and have not made it back to the big game since 1984.

11 Head Coaches since Don Shula, Brian Flores has the Dolphins looking up. After spending the first 15-years of his NFL career under the Mastermind Bill Belichick, from Scouting Assistant to Linebackers Coach, Flores led the Dolphins to a 5-11 record in his first year. The team made a big jump in year two, doubling their win total to 10 and just missing out on the playoffs.

Will Flores lead the Dolphins to the promise land, or will the team be looking for a new coach in 2022?

The posts are obviously bare right now, but feel free to post.

My four season run with my "Sound The Gjallarhorn" Franchise ended when I logged into Madden and my files were gone, so I am starting fresh with the Miami Dolphins!

              I hope everyone enjoys!

The culmination of blood, sweat, and tears. The Kansas City Chiefs, led by the "Super Human" Patrick Mahomes, take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, led by the "Never Aging" Tom Brady. Two High-Octane Offenses, both quarterbacks looking to add to their ever growing legacies. Who will come out on top?

The Buccaneers and Brady came out firing on all cylinders while the Buccs' Defense completely stifled the Chiefs' Offense. Brady threw for almost 400 yards, adding four touchdown passes, three leading to late season pickup Antonio Brown, as the Buccs came out on top.

The Buccaneers defeated the Chiefs 37-7.

Brady met with reporters after the game. He stated that "I'm not ready to hang it up, yet. I've got another Super Bowl in me. I've also got three more fingers that are feeling lonely." He laughed and went back to celebrating with his teammates.

The Miami Dolphins have many holes to fill heading into Free Agency despite finishing the year at 10-6. One position they will not have to stress about is running back, as they have re-signed Matt Breida to a three year deal worth $8.85 million.

The Dolphins have also resigned two players they believe are future stars at their positions. They awarded defensive tackle Davon Godchaux with a $10.6 million for two years and cornerback Nik Needham for $13.2 million for three years.

In need of keeping around a big leg for punts, the Dolphins have kept punter Matt Haack for two more years, handing him a $6.08 million contract.

The Miami Dolphins head into Free Agency with $32.4 million to spend to sure up two positions they feel cost them the playoffs this year. The team has faith in receiver Davante Parker, but they feel he needs a partner on the other side of the field, giving him and tight end Mike Gesicki more one-on-one opportunities. They believe that partner is Allen Robinson II.

The Dolphins also struggled on the offensive line, specifically at left tackle. The team has one chance this Offseason to sure up the left side of the line as All-Pro Trent Williams hit the market.

The Dolphins will be gunning hard on these two, believing them two be the missing pieces to their potential Championship team.

The Miami Dolphins swung and missed on left tackle Trent Williams who ended up heading back to his old team, the Washington Redskins. Despite his differences with the team in the past, he said Head Coach Ron Rivera assured him that he has his back.

Despite that strike out, the Dolphins hit big on receiver Allen Robinson II. He heads to Miami on a four year, $83.4 million contract.

The Dolphins also re-signed starting center Ted Karras to a two year, $4.9 million contract. He initially spurned the team for Free Agency but decided to return.

Murmurs from Insiders around the league are saying that the Miami Dolphins are not sold that Tua Tagovailoa is their franchise quarterback. Two alleged rumors floating around the inner circles are that the team is willing to let him go for a first round draft pick, but the more interesting rumor is that the team is trying to figure out how to acquire disgruntled star Deshaun Watson from the Houston Texans.

Analysts around the league are doubtful that any team will be able to trade for Watson due to his contract. In order for the Texans to be able do unload him, he would need to restructure his deal, which it is unknown if he would be willing to do that.

Three Team Trade Between Jags, Pats, and Fins Swap QBs, Draft Picks

In a blockbuster trade between the Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots, and the Miami Dolphins, the league sees Cam Newton head to Miami, Gardner Minshew to the Patriots, and Tua Tagolvailoa to the Jaguars.

Draft picks in the trade include the picks #1, #161, and #207 heading to Miami, pick #18 heading to Jacksonville, and the #50 pick heading to New England.

The Dolphins had been in talks with the Houston Texans for quarterback Deshaun Watson; however, Watson's contract made it impossible for the teams to come up with a deal.

Tua gives the Jaguars a cornerstone to build around, while Newton gives the Dolphins a stop gap until they can figure out what the future looks like for them at quarterback. Minshew will look to blossom under Belichick and the team hopes to add some weapons for him in the upcoming draft.

The Miami Dolphins had a few holes to fill, but none bigger then along the offensive line. In a move that was questioned throughout the various news stations, they traded out of the first overall pick, but received two first round picks, one for 2021 (#6 overall) and one for 2022. General Manager Brad Holmes called it "A deal we couldn't pass up. This year's Draft is deep, next year's class is deep. Two picks instead of one in the first is always coveted."

The Dolphins moved around a lot, but it was clear they wanted to build on their offense for the future. Their first two picks keep Penn State Teammates Micah Parsons and Pat Freiermuth together, as well as reunites them with their former Penn State Teammate Mike Gesicki.

The Dolphins always grabbed running back Najee Harris out of Alabama with the hopes of creating a one-two punch with current starter Matt Breida.

The gem for the Dolphins, though, was quarterback Trey Lance falling into their laps in the second round. The team hopes sitting behind Cam Newton for at least one year can get him prepared to take over the team. The coaching staff looks at Lance as a project that could use the Aaron Rodgers treatment before hitting the field, but they suspect that once he is ready, he will shine.
