Can't wait for this one man! Interesting to see Cam Newton come to South Beach but your QB position is locked up now with him and Trey. I think one more good receiver to pair with Parker and the offense will be complete but this a definite playoff contender now. Excited for what's next.

Quarterback Cam Newton and wide receiver Allen Robinson had their first practice together as they try to build on a team that went 10-6 one year prior. Newton said after practice, "No hard feelings, man. I appreciate that the Pats gave me a chance last year, but I'm in Miami now. Those two games are circled, but it's all love after the 60 minutes are up."

Buffalo Bills 31 Miami Dolphins 24

Despite heading into the fourth quarter up by 14 points, the Miami Dolphins remained aggressive and gave up 21 unanswered points to the Buffalo Bills. Tight end Dawson Knox exploded for 149 yards and a touchdown, helping the Bills come back in what looked like a sure loss.

The running game came up big for the Bills in the fourth, with running backs Devin Singletary and Zack Moss each picking up a touchdown to seal the game for the Bills. The Dolphins were never able to get much of a running game going, with Matt Breida averaging 2.4 yards a carry on 19 carries. Cam Newton picked up 49 yards on two carries, but turnovers in the air cost him.

Both Newton and Josh Allen passed for over 300 yards, but Allen finished with two touchdowns and two interceptions compared to Newton's one touchdown and three interceptions.

Rookie Micah Parsons picked up his first sack of his career, starting at left end for the Dolphins. The Dolphins plan to move him around due to his athleticism, as they see someone who can play every linebacker spot and both end spots, as well as safety if needed.

Head Coach Brian Flores shouldered the loss after the game, saying, "I was too aggressive in my calling in the fourth quarter and put us in bad positions, forcing us into mistakes we didn't need. Next week will be different. It all starts at the top with me."

        Stars of the Game:
        * TE Dawson Knox, 7 catches, 149 yards, TD
** LB Matt Milano, 11 tackles, 2 TFL
*** OL Miami Dolphins, 0 sacks

A defeat but one that will bring a lot of knowledge to the team. It's good to see Micah already present and Newton with good % , despite the three interceptions.

Having never used Cam before, it will be a little learning curve for me. He seems to overthrow a lot of passes for me, but the Bills made some ridiculous diving interceptions during the game that all I could do is shake my head and say, "They got me."

In his first regular season start since being traded from the Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars Tua Tagovailoa tossed four touchdowns in the Jags win over the Houston Texans. He was asked after the game how it felt playing in Jacksonville, and he replied with a single word, "Wanted."

Tua and the Jags head to Tennessee next week and hope to continue the high level of play.

              Other News:
New Orleans Saints Drew Brees tossed five touchdowns in a win over Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Cleveland Browns Oliver Vernon picked up three sacks against the Minnesota Vikings.

2021, Week 2. Missed Extra Points Spoil Cams Big Day, Fall To 0-2.

Carolina Panthers 31 Miami Dolphins 30

Cam Newton showed up and put the team on his back after his three interception game one week ago, but his heroics were not enough. Newton threw for 325 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. He also added 42 yards on the ground with a touchdown and no fumbles.

Unfortunately for the Dolphins, the missed extra point bug would come and bite them. Kicker Jason Sanders made a field; however, he missed two extra points on the day. Those two extra points were the deciding factor of the game, with the Dolphins losing by just one.

The Dolphins defense also struggled mightily against star Christian McCaffrey, who on just 14 carries picked up 130 yards and two touchdowns. Also, despite an interception on the day, Teddy Bridgewater came up with big throws all day, leading to 280 yards and two touchdowns.

The Dolphins will hope Cam can outduel their former first round pick Tua Tagloviaoa next week, and hope they can pick up their first win of the year.

                  Stars of the Game:

                  ** Christian McCaffrey, 14 carries, 130 yards, 2 TDs
                  *** Cam Newton, 22/34, 325 yards, 3 TDs, 5 carries, 42 yards, TD

That stinks that you couldn't get a win over Cam's former team. It looks like some bad luck in your first two games. That means you can get it turned around quickly. Eager to see what happens.

I could not tell you why, but I am struggling hard on extra points right now. It sucks.

                        Sack Race Heats Up Early

Just two weeks until the season and we start talking about records potentially being broken prematurely, but Cleveland Brown teammates Myles Garrett and Olivier Vernon are duking it with each other, each picking up four sacks, both with a three sack game to their name.

But they have to worry about New Orleans Saints Cameron Jordan, currently leading the league with 5.5 sacks, picking up two sacks in the first game of the season, and three and a half in game two.

At their current paces, Garrett and Oliver are on pace for 32 sacks a piece, but Jordan would finish with 44.

Will they keep the pace, or will they gas out early?

Tua Tagloviaoa came into the game wanting to make the Miami Dolphins regret trading him, but the Dolphins Defense made him wish he was back in Miami.

Byron Jones, who technically had three interceptions on the day but fumbled one of them away on a clear fumble that was controversially overturned, was all over his primary target all day. Tua ended the day with 181 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.

On the other side, Cam Newton has himself a day, with what seemed like every pass he made going for a touchdown. He ended the day with five, three to Allen Robinson, one to Mike Gesicki, and one to Davante Parker. Rookie Trey Lance got some action, with his first pass of his career coming off a fake field goal attempt, going for a touchdown to Gesicki. The first string offense was pulled in the fourth, and Lance led the team on one last scoring drive, tossing another touchdown, this one to fellow rookie Anthony Schwartz.

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Ryquell Armstead did his part to keep his team in it, breaking off a 79-yard touchdown to end the half and keep the Jags within six, but that was the closest they would come as the Dolphins only gave up a field goal in the second half.

Newton said after the game "It was a team effort. Every time I threw someone the ball, there was a chance they were breaking it off for a touchdown. Did you see Mike's first touchdown? Man, I thought he was going down at the five, but he kept his balance and bounced off that safety. And A-Rob? I didn't know he was that fast." Cam laughed.

                          Stars of the Game:
                          * Cam Newton, 18/23, 343 yards, 5 TDs, INT, 4 carries, 52 yards

                          *** Allen Robinson, 5 catches, 161 yards, 3 TDs
Honorable Mention: Mike Gesicki, 8 catches, 141 yards, 2 TDs
