              Texas Media Guide.....Team Roster.....Recruiting Board.....

              WEEK FOURTEEN

Austin, Texas -- Texas were down by sixteen, Cade Klubnik just tossing an interception to Clemson cornerback Jeadyn Lukus and the Longhorns looking all out at sea and with no hope of getting back into the game, that's only until Anthony Hill laid a big hit on Clemson's freshman quarterback Alex Williams popping the ball loose and within a couple of rolls it was picked up by freshman linebacker Kahlee Chapman and at that moment, momentum swang back into the Longhorns favor and they didn't look back.

Texas went on to score 23 unanswered points and completely shut out the Tigers for the remaining three quarters. Hill's performance of 10 tackles (3 for loss) a sack and two forced fumbles earnt the junior NCAA Defensive Player Of The Week honors.

"I came here to win big games," Hill told reporters after the game. "Games do not get much bigger than the No. 2 team in the country who are also unbeaten. When the chips are down that's when you need to step up, and it shows you that one play can change the whole outlook on the game."

Texas was also helped by solid coaching. Texas Head Coach Russell Warner seemed to throw out the game plan at the end of the first quarter. The second-year head coach bought in freshmen Clayton Leake and Naeem Philips at times, and instead of running the ball which Clemson must have been expected we saw the Texas offense instead utilize Leake's arm and this seemed to confuse the Tigers defense. Leake may have only thrown the ball four times but each of his three completions went for first downs. Philips on the other hand took in a 1-yard rushing touchdown with the Longhorns going for it on fourth down.

"Sometimes you have to throw out the book and start again," Texas Head Coach Russell Warner said after the game. "Today was one of those days. I spoke with coach Norvell (Texas OC) and we thought it with threw Clayton in there then the Tigers defense would expect the run, when he tossed that 21-yard completion for Jaleel Solomon I think it stunned them."

Texas quarterback Cade Klubnik was facing off against his former team for the first time since he transferred as a freshman from Clemson to Austin and after some early jitters, the now senior seemed to take control. His payback on former teammate Jaedyn Lukus for that early interception came in the later parts of the third quarter when he placed a lovely ball right over the corners head into Jaleel Solomon's hands for the 20-yard touchdown, that was Solomons 10th touchdown reception of the season. Klubnik finished the game 14-of-19 passing for 156 yards. Le'Veon Moss won't get a right up in the local papers about his performance, but his 4-yard touchdown run gave the Longhorns the lead for the first time in the game and the junior running back added 64 yards on 15 carries in the game.

"I have nothing but respect for the Clemson program," Klubnik said when asked after the game. "But I am a Longhorn and that felt good today. Did it feel any sweeter than the other nine wins this season, well (slight pause) that is up for you lot to decide?"

Clemson has a real talent under center in true freshman Alex Williams, the former No. 1 overall quarterback in the class of 2025 proved why the recent talks about him being in with a shot at the Heisman trophy are not without evidence. Williams was a perfect 10-of-10 when the Tigers were up by 16 and he went on to finish the game a near-perfect 17-of-20 for 204 yards. However, he has proved why he really is a dual-threat guy leading the Tigers in rushing attempts with 18 for 93 yards and a touchdown.

The question will be, would the Tigers have had a better chance at tying the game late on in the fourth quarter with Williams under center? Mikel Sutton's big hit on the freshman forced him into the locker room and his backup, Will Taylor's screen pass to Emmanuel Henderson feel just six yards short of the tie happening and guess who made the big play for Texas? Yeah, you guessed it, Anthony Hill.

Next week, #3 Texas (10-2, 7-2) takes its final bye week of the season. After that, it's a second consecutive trip to Atlanta to play in the SEC Championship game against #11 Georgia (10-2, 8-1). Georgia is coming off a 24-21 loss to their bitter rivals Georgia Tech which has seen the Bulldogs drop from #4 to #11 in the CFP Rankings.

Anthony Hill pops the ball out of Williams's hands to give momentum to Texas.

The fumble is picked up by freshman linebacker Kahlee Chapman.

Naeem Philips goes in untouched on 4th down.

Jaleel Solomons 10th receiving touchdown on the year gets Texas back in it at 16-14.

Le'Veon Moss puts the Longhorns up for the first time in the game.

When they went up 16-0 I thought to myself, here we go again but as it says in the report, that Anthony Hill strip really did change the momentum in the game, you could almost feel it on the sticks if that makes sense.

Georgia though is a completely different ball game, we owe them one for sure though!

No easy road to the natty, huh? UGA and Clemson in back to back weeks is no joke; if you can pull this one out then there’s no doubt in my mind that you belong in the CFP, even with 2 losses.

Who wants an easy road anyway? To be the best you have to beat the best as they say. It's a funny playoff's this year, not many one-loss teams to choose from so we could see multiple two-loss teams make it, or even a one-loss team without a championship.

You and me both bud. Life/work has been keeping me from the game these past few weeks and it's been tough not playing that Georgia game, now I feel rusty stickplay may cost us. Hopefully I have Sunday free this week so can get the game played and reported.

                              As always thanks for following.

                                CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK

Atlanta, Georgia -- #3 Texas ended a long sixteen-year wait for a conference title this Saturday afternoon beating #9 Georgia 38-21 to claim its first SEC title since moving to the conference in 2023.

Despite being ranked six places higher in the Playoff rankings than Georgia, Texas came into this game as heavy underdogs after having their faces pushed in by this same Bulldogs team just a a few months ago.

Senior kicker Kevin Tremblay kicked the game-winning field goal as time expired to earn his career-defining moment for the Longhorns, just like Cameron Dicker's game-winner over Oklahoma with fourteen seconds left on the clock back in 2021 this moment will live long in the memories of every associate themselves with the Longhorns program.

"Nervous, who me?" Tremblay joked after the game. "As soon as they iced me and the kick went straight through those nerves went away. I said to Clayton (Placeholder Clayton Leake) we got this."

Texas won this game simply because they contained Georgia quarterback Arch Manning, something they couldn't do in the first game. The Texas defense held the star quarterback to just 175 yards through the air (331 yards in week five) without a single passing touchdown, along with that the Longhorns defense sacked Manning five times in the game, at one point you could see the former conscientious #1 overall recruit pull his offensive line to the side and tear into them.

For Texas, Cade Klubnik was anything but clean in the game with two interceptions but the senior did what he needed to do in order to get his team into a position to win the game late on. Klubnik finished the game 20-of-33 passing for 245 yards, he also tossed touchdown passes to Jaivon Ramsey and Le'Veon Moss.

"I came here to win things," A wet Texas Head Coach Russell Warner said after the game. "This program is used to winning things and it hasn't done it for such a long time. I just hope this conference title is the start of things to come. We owed Georgia something today, the whole team was buzzing coming into this game and I think that showed out there today. That Gatorade bath feels all the bit sweeter today!"

With this win, #3 Texas (11-2, 8-2) has booked its place in the CFP Playoffs, now it will just be a case of who they face off against as we watch the remaining conference championship games play out.
