There will not be many bigger signings this season than that of the cornerback position. Yes! other signings are nice, but as you say our whole cornerback room is about to walk out the door and we need to secure these top recruits to replace them.

That's a really good win, ESPECIALLY with how Klubnik played.
Considering it is a roll of the dice per se it is very unlucky for Dewberry to be drawn out twice in two years, however, his low INJ rating makes him a prime suspect that once he is drawn, the next roll against his INJ rating is pretty much dead on to be higher than that of his INJ rating.

Thankfully, LSU was worse than us on offense. Carter really isn't the answer for them at the QB position. Klubnik might just be on thin ice after that game, senior or not you can't play like that for coach Warner and not feel the heat.

Texas | Klubnik to remain starter, but door open for Leake.

Texas Head Coach Russell Warner has confirmed that senior quarterback Cade Klubnik will remain as the starter going into this Saturday evening's game with Georgia despite being pulled in the win over LSU last weekend.

Klubnik was pulled in favor of true freshman Clayton Leake after passing for a dismal 9-of-21 for 98 yards and an interception. However, the former five-star prospect, who transferred to Texas from Clemson after his freshman season has been pretty solid through the first three weeks of the season and in fact leads the NCAA in passing yards with 1043 yards, he has also tossed 10 touchdowns to 3 interceptions.

"There isn't any need to panic just yet," Warner said today. "I have full faith in Cade to come good. You don't just throw in the towel on a kid of his quality after one bad game. Yes, we have spoken to him and told him we felt like the best option was to take him out last week but we also said to him he is still our number one guy and we don't see that changing. Does that mean the doors closed for Clayton, no! If he wants to take the starting job from Cade he needs to keep doing what he is doing in practice and when he is called upon if we need him he has to be ready."

Athens, Georgia -- If Arkansas didn't already expose some cracks in the Texas arsenal two Saturdays ago then Archie Manning and the Georgia Bulldogs most certainly did this past Saturday evening. The Bulldogs came into today's game ranked #18 in the country and were ever so slight underdogs against #12 Texas but that didn't stop Manning and Co from absolutely taking apart this Texas team piece, by piece in front of a jubilant Sanford Stadium crowd.

In some sort of payback for the two pick-sixes, he threw in last season's 36-31 loss to Texas, Archie Manning tossed five touchdown passes, four of them to sophomore Cayden Lee, rushed for another and finished the day throwing for 331 yards exposing just why Texas passing defense came into the game ranked 99th in the country. Going back to Cayden Lee, the receiver set a new Bulldogs record with his four touchdown receptions breaking Mohamed Massaquoi's record of 3 which has been in place since 2008. Lee finished the game with 9 receptions for 162 yards and those four touchdowns.

"We simply had no answer for them at all," a downbeat Texas defensive coordinator Andy Avalos said after the game. "Every blitz, except a couple we sent they picked it up. If we played man-to-man they would just fine someone open, which goes more against how poor we were in man coverage today. If we even got close to their quarterback he would pull outside the pocket and just expose the defense."

Cade Klubnik was pulled going into the fourth quarter for the second week in a row, except this week it wasn't for poor play but down to the fact, the Longhorns were already down 49-10. Klubnik was 17-of-30 passing for 204 yards and tossed a touchdown pass to Jaivon Ramsey (Who took it in one-handed) in the second quarter. Clayton Leake pretty much summed up Texas' day when he tossed a well-overthrown ball aiming for Jaleel Solomon straight into the hands of Georgia free safety Emory Floyd. That wasn't the only turnover Texas had on the day, two fumbles one from Leake and another from Jamier Johnson on a kickoff return.

"Thank god that wasn't in front of our home crowd or I would be seeking refunds for every paying fan," Texas Head Coach Russell Warner told the press today. "That was embarrassing to watch. Are they really that good, or are we just that bad? I am not too sure, but now we travel back home, we grind for a week because we face off against Florida next Saturday, this is the joys of SEC football, there are no down days."

There weren't many highlights to take from this game for the Texas defense, but redshirt freshman Thomas Trussell did record two sacks in the game.

Next week, #20 Texas (3-2, 3-2) play host to #15 Florida (2-2, 1-2). The Gators made it to the National Championship game last season, but Texas has struggled this season with losses to Texas A&M and Tennessee. Their star running back Trevor Etienne was a hot favorite to win the Heisman Trophy this season but has since dropped out of the race after a slow start.

Cayden Lee gets in behind Guilbeau for his first of four touchdown receptions.

The Georgia defense stuff's Le'Veon Moss on fourth down.

Smael Mondon Jr. brings Klubnik down by his ankles as the QB leaves the pocket.

Andrew Akanno walks in untouched for six.

Texas didn't learn, leaving Cayden Lee wide open again.

Arch Manning takes a slide to avoid the hit.

Just caught back up, this is really great. Plus seeing a dynasty where East Carolina is regularly ranked, I'll take it.

That's a brutal loss, Arch Manning lives up to the hype though.

The hype with Manning is real and alive in this Dynasty. It's a shame that Texas couldn't get him before I came here. I really feel like we would win a national championship with him under center, instead we had to watch him tear us a new one.

Texas | Jaivon Ramsey out for at least six weeks.

The hit keeps on coming for Texas.

Texas head coach Russell Warner announced Monday that the team has lost star receiver, Jaivon Ramsey, for at least six weeks with a Meniscal Tear picked up during Saturday's humiliating loss to Georgia.

Ramsey, one of the nations leading receivers through the first five weeks, suffered a knee injury on a third-quarter catch. Before the injury, Ramsey had 46 yards and an impressive one-handed touchdown grab on 4 four receptions.

Ramsey is now not expected back until the game against Missouri, with a slim chance he might be back for the Lone Star Showdown with Texas A&M on November 8th. Through the first five games, Ramsey leads the NCAA in receptions with 29, he also has 321 yards and two touchdowns.

Sophomore Yardley Gibson will now move up as the Z, with true freshman Jaleel Solomon at the X and senior Jaden Alexis will remain in the Y.

Austin, Texas -- Texas is college football's Jekyll and Hyde team this season. Last Saturday we watched the Longhorns taken apart 52-17 by #18 (at the time) Georgia, then this week we watched as they handed out the whooping to #15 Florida.

Cade Klubnik torched the Gators 36th ranked passing defense for 354 yards. The senior quarterback had just two incompletions all game (20-of-22) and threw for four touchdowns, this from a quarterback who found himself benched the two previous weeks. Without the injured Jaivon Ramsey it was expected that Klubnik would lean heavily on the trusted hands of tight end Xander Weems, and he did, but he also found a reliable target in true freshman Jaleel Solomon, who has had a case of the old butterfingers in the two previous games. Weems finished with 150 yards and two touchdowns, with Solomon catching 5 passes for 92 yards and also two touchdowns.

"It's been a rough few weeks, it's been mentally and physically taxing," Klubnik said about the last few weeks. "It felt good to get out there, let off some steam, and just play football how I know I can play it."

Texas' suffocated the Gators on offense holding them to just 175 of total offense all game. Trevor Etienne, who came into the pre-season as the Heisman favorite was held to just 42 yards and limited to only 9 carries his lowest totals all season. Carlos Delrio-Wilson did his best to ignite a spark into an offense that came into the game ranked 12th overall, but even when he tried to extend the plays with his legs he was met by Omari Abor twice, and Texas true freshman Mikel Sutton who moved to linebacker from safety this off-season put a nasty hit on Delrio-Wilson which caused a fumble in the third quarter.

"We are just so hot and cold," Texas Head Coach Russell Warner said after the game. "When we are hot, were unplayable, when we are cold we look like a team that doesn't know the fundamentals of the game. Would I love more consistency? Obviously yes! But, I have to take moments, and games like today as major plusses. We have another tough game next week, we owe the fans a win, as alumni, it's been a tough seven years watching them lift that hat, but to beat Oklahoma we have to be in our best form."

Next week, Texas (4-2, 4-2) takes on #4 Oklahoma (6-0, 6-0) in the Red River Rivalry game in Dallas. The Longhorns haven't won a Golden Hat in seven years and were beaten 51-14 last season by the Sooners in the highest score deficit between the two schools since 2011.

Carlos Delrio-Wilson can't escape the grasp of Omari Abor.

Le'Veon Moss takes the pitch play into open space thanks to a great block from Ja'Tavion Sanders.

Mikel Sutton forces the fumble on Wilson.

Anthony Hill stumbles, but manages to collect the fumble.

The first of two touchdown receptions for Weems today.

A lovely touch pass from Klubnik gets Solomon wide open for this touchdown.

Klubnik missing on only 2 passes is quite impressive really. Hell of a bounce back win over a highly ranked Gator team.
