RECRUITING TARGETS 2022
I find it acceptable to recruit any recruit regardless of star level if they are in a pipeline / home state. I limited myself to only 4 "higher ranked" recruits with the two 4 stars and the two 3 stars; 3 of which are pipeline / home states, and one is from NH which is a border state and he is a quarterback (typically higher profile QB's could be considered from a more regional approach).
As you can see I went very offensive heavy in year one. I did this intentionally. In my opinion, one of the biggest things new programs struggle with is putting together a good offense. Defense wins championships.... but we ain't here to win championships yet. Offense keeps your team in ball games, and defense will win them. I'd rather have a late 2000's era Big 12 air raid style offense that scores 50 points a game and keeps it really exciting for the boosters, students, fans. Currently, I don't have the personnel on offense to do this. Hopefully year one recruiting will allow for this to happen, and we can start getting some NIL offers on the board since boosters and the community will support us. I believe having the NIL opportunities is a must have to be competitive at this point in recruiting.Last edited by OKST56; 12-18-2022, 10:10 AM.Comment

An extremely bleak-looking roster, a tough looking schedule should make for a very frustrating first year behind the sticks, but that makes the rebuild into winning even more fun.Comment

I think the most disappointing part of this roster is the fact that it flat out has no depth. It would be nice to see somewhat of some parity between players, but because they're all just so bad it's tough to find any gems. Though... I do think I have found the answer on offense. We shall see.Comment

The graphics and layouts are all superb, really digging the presentation of this. Echoing Tearz's thoughts about the tough start - definitely expected (my first year as a sub-FBS school was ROUGH) but it makes the build all the more sweeter once you're competitive.Comment

Thank you for the compliment! One of the reasons it’s taken me several weeks to get going into week one is just figuring out how I want to do all of this. This being my first time I’ve taken a lot of inspiration from Tearz. I hope now that most all of my templates are done that things will go much more quickly.
I’ve even debated posting the games on YouTube but… I truly can’t motivate myself to edit the video. I’d rather be playing. I think I might do an extended highlight reel of 5 minutes from each game rather than the entire game.

I have been attempting to edit video from the games themselves and I’m quickly realizing that the video is taking too long for me to keep interest. So… for the time being, I believe I’m going to create a 1 minute Sportscenter style highlight video for the games going forward to post on YouTube. I hope to have week 1 posted tomorrow evening. Doing this will allow me to focus on what I enjoy most which is playing the game and creating the storyline on OS rather than chronicling for YouTube.
