LAKE TRAVIS WR KADYN LEON DIVES FOR A TD CATCH IN A LOSS TO WESTLAKE
AUSTIN - In what may be a contender for the UIL game of the year Westlake held on for a 24-21 win over Lake Travis. Westlake improves to 4-0 with the win while Lake Travis drops their first game of the season to fall to 4-1.
Things got started early when Paxton Land connected with Heath Mcree for an 82 yard catch and run on Westlake's first possession.
Lake Travis answered with an extended drive that ended with a three yard touchdown run by Nico Hamilton.

NICO HAMILTON CELEBRATES A TOUCHDOWN RUN
Westlake punched right back when Land found Brody Wilhelm for a 62 yard touchdown on a out and up that thoroughly fooled the Lake Travis defense.
Early in the second quarter Lake Travis QB Cam Fitzpatrick found his favorite target, Kadyn Leon for a diving seven yard touchdown.
Land and Mcree answered with another touchdown connection to take a 21-14 lead shortly before halftime.
Fitzpatrick and Leon connected once again, scoring on a 32 yard pass and catch to tie things up just before the break.

LEON GETS BEHIND THE DEFENSE FOR ANOTHER SCORE
Whatever adjustments he defenses made at halftime worked to perfection as the third quarter was scoreless aside from a 39 yard field goal by Westlake's Spencer Barnett.
With just over two minutes left to play Lake Travis got the ball back at their own 13 yard line. Fitzpatrick found Leon for 23 yards then Hamilton for a gain of 16. Cole Munnerlyn caught one for six yards out to the Westlake 42. Fitzpatrick then found Leon for gains of 11 and two yards, down to the 29 yard line with 58 seconds left to play.
Seth Galbraith caught back to back passes totaling 13 yards to put the ball at the 16. Hamilton then got a trio of carries, centering the ball at the eight yard line, setting up Braydon Doane for a 25 yard kick to send the game into overtime.
Westlake's Payton Luther burst around the end and laid out, getting enough of the ball to send the kick off target and secure the win for Westlake.
"Heck of a game, always is. Tough way to lose but we had other chances to win." Lake Travis head coach Hank Carter said following the game.
Cam Fitzpatrick completed 24 of 39 pass attempts for 363 yards and two scores while Kadyn Leon led the way with 113 yards and two scores on eight receptions. Sam Self added 106 yards on five receptions. Nico Hamilton picked up a very tough 64 yards and a score on 19 carries.
Lake Travis (4-1) will travel to face off against Del Valle (1-4) following a week off.
