LEFT - It didn't take the Green Wave long to break out the "Turnover Beads" after recovering Semonza's 1st play fumble.
CENTER 1 - Philip Onwualu put the Cardinals on his back in the 1st half wiht 6 receptions for 195 yards and two scores.
CENTER 2 - It took Tulane one play to strike out of the break as Tim Metchie took the post route 87 yards to the house to cut into the deficit.
RIGHT - Kenneth Merrieweather came up with a pair of sacks in the 2nd half to keep Tulane QB Kellen Tasby off balance.

Arlington, TX. - In a thrilling offensive showcase, #8 Ball State outlasted #12 Tulane 56-44 in the Cotton Bowl, earning their first-ever trip to the National Championship. Both teams lit up the scoreboard in a game that featured over 1,300 yards of combined offense.

The game started on a shaky note for Ball State quarterback Kadin Semonza, who fumbled on the very first play of the game. Tulane capitalized immediately with a five-yard touchdown pass from Kellen Tasby to Joshua Goines. Semonza settled down quickly, however, orchestrating a pair of scoring drives in the first quarter, including a 41-yard touchdown strike to Marvin Mooney. Despite two fumbles, including a costly one at Tulane’s one-yard line late in the second quarter, Semonza still managed a dazzling first half with 250 passing yards and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Philip Onwualu was unstoppable, catching six passes for 195 yards and two scores, including a 60-yard touchdown that gave Ball State a 28-13 halftime lead.

Tulane’s offense kept them in the game behind the stellar play of quarterback Kellen Tasby, who finished with an eye-popping 596 passing yards and five touchdowns. Tasby’s 87-yard bomb to Tim Metchie and a 23-yard strike to Kenny Dupree in the third quarter kept the Green Wave within striking distance. However, Ball State’s offense responded each time, with Semonza finding All-American receiver Nyck Harbor for two second-half touchdowns, including a game-breaking 68-yard score in the third quarter and a 49-yard dagger in the fourth.

Ball State’s rushing attack provided critical balance, as three players eclipsed 50 yards on the ground. Christian Davis led the way with 81 yards and one touchdown, while Semonza added 75 yards on 11 carries, and Cortez Duval chipped in with 73 yards and a fourth-quarter touchdown. The Ball State defense made just enough plays, with linebacker JaMichael Tabor’s sack late in the second quarter forcing Tulane to settle for one of their three field goals, which proved crucial in the final scoreline.

Ball State finished the game with 710 total yards, with Semonza’s 481 passing yards and five touchdowns leading the way. Nyck Harbor, who had been held without a catch in the quarterfinals, bounced back with three receptions for 158 yards and two scores, providing the spark Ball State needed in the second half. Tulane finished with 611 total yards but struggled to convert key red-zone opportunities, settling for three field goals instead of touchdowns.

With the win, Ball State advances to face the undefeated Stanford Cardinal in the National Championship at NRG Stadium. Stanford secured their spot with a victory over Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl, setting up a clash of unbeatens for college football’s ultimate prize. Ball State will look to ride their explosive offense into the history books as they prepare for the biggest game in program history.

I can honestly say I have never seen Stanford have success in any of my Dynasty seasons. It's cool thought that it's coming down to undefeated vs undefeated in a Battle of the Cardinals aka Battle of the Birds.

Excited to see what lies ahead for Coach Savage.. I feel like any Power4 school looking for a new HC would want him but with this games coaching carosel it really limits your choices unless you just create a new HC and start over with your points which also sadly resets any in game stat tracking in terms of wins/loss's ect..

In my USC one they were up and down. Never a power, but made the CFP a few times and went as far as the semis iirc.

I wish I had done some more research into the coaching carousel before starting this one. Apparently whatever "coach pipeline" you chose heavily impacts the offers you receive, more so than schemes or archtypes. I chose Nevada as mine, more because I was always able to find great players in NV with USC so wanted to try and capture some of that with BS, but now because of that west coast teams are the majority of my offers which I wanted to avoid the west coast if possible. I believe I got offers for Ohio State and Penn State with USC, even though my pipeline was east texas, so I do feel like it overrides it at some point, but will definitely make it harder to realize my dream of going to the SEC. Both OK State and Miss St were available again and I never got the offer

Interesting. In my Coach Scott Dynasty he had PNW as it's where I figure Boise State lands the majority of their recruits and it was my dream job also making BSU his Alma mater.

With Coach Miller, he is originally from Montana and was the OC from Montana State well also a player and Coach for Boise State do I made the Big Sky my Pipeline and again BSU as his Alma mater.

So I guess it makes sense that Miller got the Washington and USC offers I guess and this year got BYU.. However i found it interesting that BSU fires Coach D after a 6-6 season and yet no offer came from BSU..

Oregon, Ohio State, Florida, Oklahoma, Miami, Michigan State, Pitt, Minnesota, Houston, San Diego State, South Carolina, Miss State, Baylor, Purdue, USF, Liberty, ECU and Arkansas State all hired new coaches, and I feel like any 1 of those schools in real life would be making a run at Coach Miller with the success he has had. Which is sad because I actually would've been open to quite a few of those places. Even writing in my story of like Florida or Miami paying big bucks to pull Miller away yet keeping him in Florida..

From everything I've read pipeline is the biggest factor, but it can be overrode for scheme/archtype fit or if a school prefers a alum.

              https://www.reddit.com/r/NCAAFBserie...are&utm_term=1

that redditt post explains it some and breaks down most of the "preferences" for each school. I played with it a bit on a different save and adjusting the schemes does open up different offers to a degree. Still can't find your "perfect" fit, as it looks like it only offers the top 5 coaches for each school. So even if you matchup with say BSU for archtype/schemes/alum, if there are higher prestige guys with at least a few of those then they get the offer before you.

I really hope they let you apply for jobs that are open in the next years game. Even if you don't get it, at least let me say I'm interested and have that make a change in the CPUs decision. Or let us manually move coaches. we can already choose where we go and replace active coaches, seems silly to not let us choose our path if we so chose.

LEFT - Kadin Semonza and Ball State took over at their own 6 yard line, but two plays later were in the endzone after this 50 yard reception to TE Theo Hrynkiewicz was followed up by a 44 yard TD to Onwualu.
LEFT CENTER - Tucker Foster continued to be a difference maker for Ball State, sacking Elijah Brown twice to force field goals in the 1st half.
RIGHT CENTER - FR HB Cortez Duval showcased his game breaking speed, juking the safety before exploding for a 77 yard touchdown as time expired in the 1st half for a 28-6 Ball State lead.
RIGHT - Trailing 35-16 Elijah Brown made his 1st mistake with a terrible pass into the endzone for CB Brandon Nicholson to snag and officially ice the game.

Houston, TX. - In a stunning performance under the bright lights of NRG Stadium, the #8 Ball State Cardinals claimed their first-ever national title with a decisive 42-16 victory over the previously undefeated #4 Stanford Cardinals. Ball State quarterback Kadin Semonza, capping off his legendary collegiate career, delivered a stellar performance with 286 passing yards and five touchdowns, four of which went to wide receiver Philip Onwualu, who racked up 189 receiving yards on the night.

The game’s momentum swung sharply in Ball State’s favor late in the second quarter. After a back-and-forth opening half, Ball State erupted for three touchdowns in the final two minutes before halftime. Nyck Harbor’s 19-yard touchdown catch at 1:54 was followed by Onwualu’s 44-yard strike just 32 seconds before the break. On the final play of the half, freshman running back Cortez Duval broke free for a stunning 77-yard touchdown run, sending Ball State into the locker room with a commanding 28-6 lead.

Stanford struggled to respond, with kicker AJ Seidler’s three field goals providing their only consistent scoring. Despite a 336-yard passing effort from quarterback Elijah Brown, the Stanford offense was held in check by Ball State’s defense, which recorded two key sacks from linebacker Tucker Foster to thwart scoring opportunities in the first half.

Ball State’s dynamic offense, which totaled 533 yards, featured a balanced attack with Duval and Christian Davis combining for 201 rushing yards. The win marks a storybook ending for Semonza, a senior who departs as a two-time Heisman winner, NCAA all-time touchdown passes leader, and now, a national champion. For Ball State, a program that began the season as an underdog, this victory cements their legacy as one of the great teams in college football history.

When asked how it felt to sit atop college football, head coach Nash Savage took a moment before replying, “It’s better than anything I could have imagined. I thought winning a high school championship as the coach at my alma mater, West Anchorage High School, was the pinnacle of my career—but this? I don’t know what could possibly top this.”

Quarterback Kadin Semonza, when asked about his NFL future, couldn’t contain his excitement at the podium: “Whatever happens next doesn’t matter. At the end of the day, WE ARE THE CHAMPS! And nothing can ever take that away from us.”

Just catching up now after being on vacation for the past few days. Nyck Harbour.. I read this and as a Michigan Wolverines fan we were trying to get him two years ago, thought he'd be an incredible ad, and then - poof, gone. So I'm like this isn't the same guy is it? It is. That's wild..

Great job on the final two minutes before half. I usually get destroyed because the computer becomes amazing for some reason. It's pretty awesome, but you seem to have mastered it, great work!

Congrats on the natty! Really unique road to get to hoisting the trophy - seems like this game's sim engine enjoys the Cinderella and overlooked programs making deep runs from what I've seen in everyone's reports. Looking forward to seeing what Coach Savage plans to do - does he try to reload and start the post-Semonza era, or does he go out on top in Muncie and take over another program?

Big congrats on the Natty.. You proved your the best Cardinal.. I agree with your earlier statement, I don't think Ball State is quite ready to just make a jump to the Big Ten. I could see them going to the American as a step up and then maybe after a couple years there make a move again. Knowing what we know now about coaches, it will be interesting to see if either one of us ever gets the job offers we really want..

He's pure video game cheese with all of his speed ratings plus platinum takeoff. But sadly he has yet to put all of those physical tools to work IRL. And thank you! We play uptempo (no huddle) at the end of halves and at times on critical drives and with how much speed we have I feel it fatigues the CPU defenders faster. Could just be me imagining things, but I think it works lol

A detractor could definitely look at the teams we played to get there and say we had an easier path than most. Aside from Miami, who underwhelmed, none of them are legit powers and although KSU won the Natty two years ago it was with Avery Johnson at QB. But you are correct, the sim loves an upset. Usually in the playoffs it balances out - UAB did get demolished by Oklahoma

I keep playing with it and so long as they continue to be a national power I think Big 12 is the more appropriate move. They just don't feel like a Big Ten team to me, especially since they would have to go into the East with Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn. That could just be me not wanting them to be the Illinois of the bunch, but that's where i'm leaning now.

I did have some success generating non West Coast offers while playing with my schemes, so that is always an option. Its time consuming, but if you wanted to see a full scope of offers you *could* get, then you could always save before the first wave, change your scheme, then advance to see what happens. I had some off the wall offers come in, while the original ones sometimes stayed and sometimes left.

Got to post the final season stats and season wrap up, then we're advancing into the offseason! Thank you again to everyone whose been following so far, weather you've dropped a comment or just check in. I had fun with the USC one, but having the ability to shape my career outside of my origin point and continue to evolve is a refreshing spin on another dynasty.

Ball State HC Nash Savage Hosts Impromptu Press Conference

Muncie, IN. - If anyone needed further proof of Nash Savage’s profound impact on the Ball State football program, they only had to look at the Alumni Center during his impromptu press conference. Just three years ago, when Savage was introduced as Ball State’s head coach, the room was sparsely populated with local media. This time, it was standing-room only, filled with representatives from ESPN, The Athletic, The New York Post, and more—not to mention all 85 members of Ball State’s 2027 National Championship team.

Savage entered the room in a striking blue suit and bright orange tie, a choice of attire that set the media buzzing before he even reached the podium. “When two of the premier collegiate programs in the country make coaching changes, the ripple effects tend to spread far and wide,” Savage began. “Those tremors have now reached Muncie. The past three years have been some of the most joyous of my life, but as the great Lou Holtz once said, ‘In this world, you’re either growing or dying.’ After all we’ve achieved, I believe it’s time for a new challenge. I’m proud to announce that I will be continuing my coaching journey at Syracuse University.”

Savage revealed that he had informed his team of his decision prior to their Peach Bowl clash against Miami, emphasizing transparency. “I wanted the team to know before the postseason, so if we fell short of our goal, there wouldn’t be any lingering questions about whether I was leaving because of a loss,” he explained. Additionally, Savage and Syracuse agreed to keep the announcement under wraps until the conclusion of Ball State’s season to ensure the focus remained on the Cardinals’ historic championship run.

As the press conference began winding down, Savage delivered another surprise: the introduction of his successor. “I’m not just here to close one chapter of Ball State football,” Savage announced, “but to help open another. It’s my privilege to introduce the 19th head coach in Ball State history, Kliff Kingsbury.”

Kingsbury, known for his offensive brilliance, brings a mixed track record to Muncie. His stints at Texas Tech (35-40) and as head coach of the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals (28-38-1) were marred by inconsistency, and his lack of long-term success left questions about his ability to lead a winning program. Additionally, Kingsbury’s repeated public statements about his preference to remain in the NFL made many collegiate programs hesitant to consider him for head coaching vacancies, assuming his commitment to college football might waver. However, Ball State Athletic Director Jeff Mitchell saw an opportunity to take a calculated risk with Kingsbury, viewing him as the right coach to stabilize the program in the wake of Savage’s departure.

Kingsbury shared that his connection to Savage played a pivotal role in the decision. “We first met while I was scouting the Senior Bowl,” Kingsbury said. “He casually asked me if I’d ever consider returning to college. I didn’t realize that conversation would lead to this opportunity.”

To round out his staff, Kingsbury announced former Western Michigan head coach Willie Shor (CPU) as offensive coordinator and Texas State defensive coordinator Dexter McCoil in the same role at Ball State. The combination of Kingsbury’s offensive expertise and a solid coaching staff aims to keep the Cardinals competitive in the short term as they adjust to life without Savage.

Later that day, Savage was officially introduced as Syracuse’s head coach at the John A. Lally Athletics Complex. Reflecting on the challenges of building a staff without announcing his hire, Savage joked, “It kind of felt like a spy movie—covert ops type of vibe.” Joining him in Syracuse will be Tommy Rees, former offensive coordinator at Alabama and the NFLs Cleveland Browns, and Earnest Hill, who will serve as defensive coordinator. Rees, once a rising star in the coaching world, looks to rediscover his success at the collegiate level after a stint in the NFL.

With the announcement finally public, the clock starts ticking for both programs. Savage looks to replicate his unprecedented success in Syracuse, while Kingsbury takes the reins of a championship-caliber team in Muncie. For both coaches, the stakes couldn’t be higher.

Re: From The Shadows | The Rise Of "Nitro" Nash Savage (CFB25)

Muncie, IN. - Despite the 2027 Ball State Cardinals football team being arguably the greatest team in program history, the likely hood is that none of the teams 15 graduating seniors are expected to be drafted in the upcoming 2028 NFL Draft.

"Not every great collegiate career ends up in the NFL, that's just the cold hard truth of it," stated ESPN analyst Ryan Clark.

"That doesn't take anything away from what they accomplished in a few short seasons there with Nash Savage in Muncie, it's just the reality of the NFL. It's the 1% of the 1% at that level, and not everyone gets there."

While record setting duo Kadin Semonza and Nyck Harbor await draft day in hopes one team will see their production and take a flier on the Ball State boys, most will turn their attention to the minor football leagues that have begun popping up around the country, or to other endeavors entirely.
