                    Week Recap:
1-2-1 this week and the cracks are beginning to show. Our 2nd line seems to score every game, but our top line is hit and miss and we're getting pretty much no 3rd or 4th line scoring. So, with the trade deadline a week away, I'm going to try moving Ladd up to the top line and hopefully get both lines working consistently. If it doesn't happen, look for us to make a move which we probably will be doing anyways to acquire a veteran depth defenseman.

                              2009 - 10 Trade Deadline

                              March 11th, 2010
To Vancouver: C Mike Modano, LW Michael Neal
To Dallas: RW Mario Bliznak, RW Marty Guerin
-A stupid trade for the Canucks as Modano is retiring at the end of the year and the Canucks have no shot at the playoffs. Neal and Guerin will never play a game in the NHL so essentially the Canucks gave Bliznak to Dallas.

                              March 12th, 2010
To Edmonton: LW Jussi Jokinen, TB 2011 4th Round Draft Pick
To Tampa Bay: C Richard Greenop, LW Victor Janssens, D Jordan Bendfeld
-A good trade for both teams. Tampa isn't looking like they're going to make the playoffs so they got a few youngsters. Bendfeld is useless, but Greenop could have some potential and Janssens was Edmonton's 2nd round pick last year. Edmonton in exchange gets a very solid left winger who can only help the Oilers in their quest for the cup.

To San Jose: RW Jakub Voracek, CBJ 2010 4th Round Draft Pick
To Columbus: D Igor Zubov, RW Bronislav Pekar, C Justin Daniels and D Mark Ardelan
-I have no idea what Columbus was thinking. Zubov and Pekar were both 4th round picks last year and don't look to have much potential and Daniels was a 3rd round pick the year before and looks the best of out them all and he might be a 3rd or 4th liner at best while Ardelan is even more useless than a pylon on the ice.

                              March 13th, 2010
To Dallas: RW Devin Setoguchi, CBJ 2010 4th Round Pick
To San Jose: C Kurt Heiss, D Victor Bartley, LW Aaron Snow
-Though this looks lobsided it surprisingly isn't. Setoguchi will add a lot to Dallas but Heiss was Dallas' 2nd Round Pick last year, is only 18, stands at 6'3", 213 and has a ton of potential and Bartley looks like he's only a year or two away from being a steady NHL defenseman.

                              To Buffalo: D Kimmo Timonen
To Philadelphia: D Radoslav Suchy, LW Luke Adam, BUF 2011 4th Round Pick
-Interesting trade, Philly is only 3 points out a playoff spot but Timonen is a bit of a liability defensively and getting paid $6-something million for the next 4 years. Suchy is a little better defensively than Timonen but is no help in any way offensively but only getting paid $700,000 and Luke Adam looks to have some decent potential.
