New York Islanders Claim Blair Betts Off Waivers!

New York Islander GM Ryan Williams has made his first "real" move as GM by placing a claim for defensive specialist Blair Betts. The 26 year old center has three goals and seven points for the New York Rangers. But his real talent is his defensive capability. He is known across the league as one of the best shut-down centers in the NHL. Also he is very cheap at $0.55M, so if it doesn't work out he isn't overly expensive.

"Betts is the perfect player on this team, he is hard working and very determined. Some players (Yashin) could learn a lot from him." Says GM Ryan Williams.

"Its kinda strange to be sent to our cross town rivals, the New York Islanders, but its better then playing in the minors." Comments Blair Betts.

Justin Papineau has been placed on waivers, and will be playing in the AHL if not claimed. He has five goals and eight points in 39 games with the Islanders.

Yashin and Blake probably. Blake is a UFA after this season and demanding a ****full of money. And Yashin has a contract of like 7.5M per for five seasons so I want to get rid of him.
