thanks bro, really appreciate the kind words.

I, on one hand, can't wait for your upcoming BAP. I hope it is as enjoyable to read as your plentiful dynasties have been. I also can't wait to see what kind of spins, or dramas, you put on it.

Also, I'm considering writing a teeney little guide on writing for the people here at OS...just a few tiny tips that can really make your writing go a long way. What would you guys think about that? I'd try and release it around the same time NHL 10 comes out, so that the huge influx of noobs pouring in can start off better than some of the other noobs did here. I take a look at guys who've joined a few months ago and started BAP's or dynasties right away, and compare their work back then to their work now, and it is absolutely remarkable how much they've all improved. If I was to write this tiny guide, my hope would be that it would help the new newbs hit the ground running, so to speak, so they could churn out awesome BAP's and dynasties right away, and not suffer with the writing aspect to begin with.

Anyways, there's a huge thunderstorm outside of my house right now. I don't know if I'll be able to do any more games, but I will most certainly try...I just hope my power doesn't go out in the middle

Yeah a little advertisement to get the Hype up is doing great for me.. still working on the beginning. Your "guide" would really help me out since i have no real creativity(Hence why i'm going mostly with my real life experiences)

I'll give you all a tip that I used frequently (as you can probably see) when writing Mikko, and one that I'm going to include in the upcoming writing guide.

Think about television shows, or books, that you might have read or seen at some point in your life, and think of dramatic moments.

For that last Phil update, I most certainly used the wife's best friend from the movie "I Love you, Man" as my inspiration. You know, the blonde one who's always fighting with her husband?

At least, I did for the beginning part, when she was angry with him.

you don't have to read epically long books to become a better writer. Reading shorter novels with characters similar to yours, or even by watching tv shows that have some sort of steady plotline (meaning not a cartoon, which every episode has it's own plotline.) Try going for a show that has plotlines based over several episodes. Even if it's something lame, like What I Like About You. That show's not funny (besides the black dude...he's awesome haha), not that entertaining, and it's not overly-dramatic. But it's got some good characters that you can use as inspiration for your writing material, as well as some sticky situations that you can use for your written updates, give or take a few changes.

            Hope that helped, guys!

Re: Getting A Late Start: The BAP Story of Phil Gomez

Hey Shinder, great job. I really like the direction this story is going in. I see a great storyline developing here. I'm not sure it's the same direction that you'll be taking it, but if not I'm sure your direction will be better. I KNOW you already have it planned out

You've managed to make a second goalie BAP without just basically doing Mikko again with a slight variation. You've done a great job seperating Mikko and Phil. I find Phil has quickly become a character I can cheer for because you've done a great job in describing his desire and dedication to succeed.

Also, I think your guide idea is a great one. Who better for everyone to learn about BAP's from then the best BAP writer on the boards?

Nice start to the season for Gomez. A little more help from the offense and a slightly better save percentage and things will be going pretty well.
