            End Of Season Report

The Blues finished the regular season with a record of 44-33-5, good for 5th in the Western Conference and a matchup with the 4th seeded Dallas Stars. TJ Oshie and Andy McDonald were awesome for the Note as Oshie would rack up 42 goals and 81 points while Andy Mac would pot 61 assists and 86 points. The emergence of Lars Eller (18 points in 39 games) and Aaron Palushaj (5 goals, 9 points in 8 games) was key for the Blues as they have evolved into a real offensive powerhouse as 8 players would reach the 20 goal plateau, with Kariya (36 goals) and Oshie (42 goals) leading the way.

The Blues posted nearly identical records in both halfs of the season, but have won 6 of 8 going into the post season with the offense firing on all cylinders showing great promise as the Blues pursue the first Stanley Cup in franchise history.

Those are good stats. But Heatley had 57 goals how many assist did Joe have? You think he would be leading with it with his line mate at 57 goals. And wow the Oilers are very tough in the game?

                  Playoff Preview Show

Welcome to the 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs, this is Chris Kerber on The Fan 590...

                  The actual Chris Kerber...

"Todays show is all about the NHL playoffs as the Blues set to drop the puck tonight with the 4th seeded Dallas Stars. First we will preview the series between the Blues and Stars, then we'll take a look around the rest of the league...

buts just get down to it...the Blues are peaking at the right time, but BluesNation is smarter than this and cynical as hell. The Blues have a lot to prove...

The Blues are a team playing fantastic hockey heading into the playoffs. With the playoffs in question 2 weeks ago, the Blues rallied to a 6-2-0 finish, scoring no shortage of goals as the Note averaged nearly 5 goals a game over the final 8 games...largely ignited by the call up of Aaron Palushaj who scored 5 goals and 4 assists over the final 8 games.

Lets take a look at the matchup between the Blues and Stars."

                  Conference Quarter Finals

                  (5) 44-33-5, 93 Pts

                  vs.

                  (4) 44-29-9, 97 Pts

The last time the Dallas Stars met the St. Louis Blues in the playoffs, Chris Pronger and Al MacInnis led the Blues to a sweep of the Stars before the Blues were eliminated by the Colorado Avalanche in the Western Conference Finals.

                  That was then...

                  this is now.

The Blues are a NHL jauggernaut on the rise as the team boasts perhaps the finest group of up and coming young talent in the NHL.

                  Players to Watch

The Blues were led by the play of TJ Oshie who tallied 42 goals in his 2nd NHL season, while also finishing with 81 points.

"I think we've got our legs and our game going. We're working hard and seem to know what each other are thinking. We have a lot to prove after being swept by Vancouver last season...so...its time to lay it out there"--TJ Oshie

Ty Conklin has officially stolen the reigns from Chris Mason heading into the playoffs as it became apparent that he was the statistical standout between the two as the season progressed.

"There is no anomosity between Chris and I...hell we're roomies so...yeah"--Ty Conklin

The Stars aquired Teemu Selanne at the trade deadline and have had a solid club all season long. In addition to Selanne, the Stars aquired Kristian Huselius from Columbus while losing Lehtonen in the deal. The addition of the two snipers gives Dallas an extremely dangerous element...

                  world class sniping and speed.

                  3 Keys To Success...

                  1. Shut Down Selanne/Huselius
                  2. Keep Playing Strong
                  3. Take advantage of Turco's roaming.

We'll take a look at the rest of the matchups in the league after this...

                              Game Summary:

The Dallas Stars handed the St. Louis Blues a 6-4 loss in Game One on the power of a Brendan Morrow hat trick. The Stars would score 6 goals in the first 25 minutes of play as they took a 6-2 lead at the five minute mark of the second period.

"We really came out strong...played the way we would like and were fortunate. This is a good team though and its just one game", said Brendan Morrow.

The Stars would also get 4 points from both Selanne and Richards as each would tally a goal and 3 assists on the night.

"We're very underwhelmed with ourselves right now", said Blues coach Andy Murray. "This is a team that we can't underestimate...we'll look to be much better than this."
