        2010: Year of the Underdog

        Call it a fluke.

        Call it a statistical anomoly.

Call it what you will, but it won't change the fact that in all eight series of the NHL's Stanley Cup Quarterfinal's, the lower ranked seeds came out the winners with a combined record of 32-13.

        Unbelievable.

So what we are left with this year is a spectacle where the bottom feeders of the playoff brackets are left to battle it out for Lord Stanley, with three rounds of hockey to be played.

Here is a review of the Quarter Finals in both the West and East...

        (1)
        (8) Hawks take series 4-1

        (2)
        (7) Ducks take series 4-2

        (3)
        (6) Flames take series 4-3

        (4)
        (5) Blues take series 4-1

        (1)
        (8) Rangers take series 4-2

        (2)
        (7) Bruins take series 4-1

        (3)
        (6) Sens take series 4-2

        (4)
        (5) Canadiens take series 4-1

And with that here are your second round matchups for the Semi-Final Round of the Stanley Cup playoffs...

        (5) (44-33-5)
        (8) (41-34-7)

        (6) (41-33-8)
        (7) (42-35-5)

        (5) (45-31-6)
        (8) (39-35-8)

        (6) (39-32-11)
        (7) (39-35-8)

        What a strange season...
