Re: Wake Up The Sleeping Giant (A Leafs BAGM)
Maybe you could also sign Bertuzzi if he's still a FA. That is, if your salary cap is off. He has a brutal slap shot, and could help when you're in a tight spot and need a quick goal with crash the net.
He could be a short term player that'll help you get far. You can get fired in this, right? Cus I think I saw a GM fire option before...
Also, something very off topic, how do you get the logo of you're fav team on you're profile thing beside your posts?Comment

Re: Wake Up The Sleeping Giant (A Leafs BAGM)
Two other great powerforwards are David Backes and Mike Richards. You would obviously have to give up a lot for Richards for I give the nod to Backes.
Backes is still decently young and I think he would be a great fit for the Leafs on on either their first or second line. In my opinion you should get either one of
1. Bobby Ryan
2. David Backes
3. Milan LucicNFL- Ravens
NBA- Raptors
MLB- Jays
NHL- Leafs
NCAA Basketball- Huskies
NCAA Football- Penn StateComment

Re: Wake Up The Sleeping Giant (A Leafs BAGM)
I like bthomp's idea of getting rid of Kaberle. I like Bobby Ryan, David Backes and Milan Lucic but have a hard time believing that their respective teams would trade them. You'd have to make them offers they couldn't refurse for sure. Going over the top in generosity for sure as bthomp said. I also like the Hanzal idea a lot. I was impressed with him during the playoffs this year. At times he gave the Red Wings fits and Phoenix does have a lot of young talent so they might give him up. Dunno if they need the defense though. I'm a big fan of David Booth from Florida but doubt they would trade him as well since they just gave him a huge contract last year.
Bottom line is you'd have to give up a lot for any of those guys because they are so young and have a ton of potiential. I would be all for it but would we be putting them on the first line? Who would they replace?Comment

Re: Wake Up The Sleeping Giant (A Leafs BAGM)
They would replace somebody from a line who doesn't have a lot of strength in the power forward department. Trade Kablerle, because that's the current plan, maybe to make it fair throw in a draft pick, and give one of the teams that offer, and see if they accept it. It's more than fair since Kaberle is pretty good, and a draft pick is valuable. Or we could decide on a guy from the third or fourth line, then get a lowly free agent for a replacement. You never know.Comment

Re: Wake Up The Sleeping Giant (A Leafs BAGM)
Anaheim agrees to trade Ryan for Kaberle and a prospect. I think we should pull the trigger on this one. Maybe we could give a 3rd or 2nd round pick just to be more realistic. What you think?
About the prospect, I think we should give Slaney. He has B- potencial and is a power forward LW. Anaheim needs offense, so they get Kaberle (offensive D-man), Slaney (a power forward) and a draft pick. I think this is a good trade for both sides.Comment

Re: Wake Up The Sleeping Giant (A Leafs BAGM)
This is a really good question. Like bthomp said, Ryan will play in Bozak/Kessel line. This put Kulemin in the 2nd, with Stalberg and Grabovski. I love this lines, but there is a problem... We don't have nobody decent in face-offs in the 2nd. Grabovski is just awful...Comment
