Thanks. I will probably post the end of the season update tonight, then go about creating world championship rosters and teams to see how many countries I can find players for. That should give everyone plenty of time to post about their season, and for the guys that make it, playoff expectations.

Associated Press, 2012
The Daily Courier was able to catch up with local boy Nathan MacDonald, while he took a break during the NHL's All-Star weekend. Below is an excerpt from a phone interview we recorded earlier.
Daily Courier Reporter: Nathan, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk to us today. We want to congratulate you on your team's success this season.
Nathan MacDonald: Thank you, yes we are having a great season here in Columbus, our GM brought in some good talent over the off-season and we have been playing a good system and it seems to be working well for us.
Daily Courier Reporter: Your Goalie, Steve Mason was selected as a starting All-Star this year. What does it mean to play in front of a guy like that?
Nathan MacDonald: Stevo, is great. He is so good at what he does, and his focus is unreal. Even though he is a tremendous goalie he still tries to improve himself, he has a lot of work ethic. He's our MVP this year, and without him we wouldn't be where we are.
Daily Courier Reporter: You have also earned the 'A' this year, what does that mean to you as a player?
Nathan MacDonald: It means a lot for me that the guys in the locker room respect me and believe in me enough to give me such an honor. I work hard on and off the ice and to have that kind of respect in the locker room is really important to me.
Daily Courier Reporter: The Blue Jackets are in first place in the west right now, having never won a major championships at any level of hockey, what would it mean to you to bring back a Stanley Cup to Kelowna?
Nathan MacDonald: Well it would mean a lot certainly, every hockey player has played out his dream of playing for and winning the cup on their rinks, and in their driveways when they were little. As I mentioned before, it's what we play for and we work so hard during the regular season to put yourself in a position to win it at the end of the year. We are very focused this year, and I expect a lot out of this team.
Daily Courier Reporter: Well we wish you the best of luck on the remainder of the season, and we hope to talk to you again soon.

Re: St. Louis Blues (with OS created players) (NHL 11 Be a GM)
St. Louis Blues Upset the Blue Jackets
-It was a close fought series but the St. Louis Blues were able to beat the Blue Jackets 4 games to 2 in the Western Conference Quarter-Finals. The last four games of the series were all decided by 1 point, and two of them finished in OT.
-Nathan MacDonald contributed a little to the offense, but him and his teammates could not find a way to consistently beat Halak. MacDonald had a goal and an assist in the Blue Jackets game 2 win, and he also added another assist on their only goal in the game 5 loss at home. He finished with just three points, a -1 rating, and 10 hits.
Western Conference Quarter-Finals
-The West was full of surprises with every lower seeded team winning in the first round. Including the Edmonton Oilers who made the playoffs through a tiebreaker.
1 Calgary 2
8 Edmonton 4
2 Columbus 2
7 St. Louis 4
3 Los Angeles 1
6 Vancouver 4
4 Phoenix 3
5 Minnesota 4
Eastern Conference Quarter-Finals
-The East was a different story where the only "upset" was 5th seed Washington over number 4 Pittsburgh.
-Michael Morrow and John Tavares lead the way for the Islanders in their 7 game series win against the Rangers. Morrow had 1 goal and 7 assists while Tavares had 8 goals and 3 assists. Both players finished a +3. Morrow also contibuted 20 hits.
-Jake White once again shines in the playoffs scoring 8 points in the Lightning sweep in their first round series. He scored 3 goals and added 5 assists to lead the team in scoring. He was also a +5, had 1 powerplay goal, 1 gamewinning goal and had 7 hits.
1 NY Islanders 4
8 NY Rangers 3
2 Tampa Bay 4
7 Boston 0
3 Buffalo 4
6 Philadelphia 2
4 Pittsburgh 2
5 Washington 4
(Next update will be a ways away. It will be the World Championship Rosters for the four countries represented among us. All rosters will be based on final season point total, and not overall with exceptions being our players. Players not left on the final 8 teams are eligible.)

-Robert Miller was the one bright spot in the opening game loss for Austria. They scored early on a powerplay, and just missed scoring on another one a few minutes later. After that hit post it was all Russia. Miller finished the game with an assist and two hits. Up next for Austria is Belarus, a game they need to get a win in to keep their hopes alive for moving to the elimination round.Last edited by thedudedominick; 05-26-2011, 08:17 PM.NHL: Vegas Golden Knights

Re: St. Louis Blues (with OS created players) (NHL 11 Be a GM)
It also doesn't help that the guys that would be your linemates are still in the playoffs.
Also Miller is singlehandedly keeping Austria in this game. An assist on the PP and then could have put them ahead, but hit the post on another PP.
Updated the Russia vs Austria game. I have to take off for a bit, but would you guys like to see the Finland vs USA game or the Canada vs Kazakhstan game first?Last edited by thedudedominick; 05-26-2011, 08:18 PM.NHL: Vegas Golden Knights
