Going to post the playoff results later today. As well as WC results. After that I would like everyone that wants to continue to post a press release or press conference announcing if you have signed a deal with another team or if you are returning to your current team on a one year contract.


Wow I am seriously wondering about this sim engine EA has. I am glad it is going to be completely redone for NHL 12. USA losing to France 5-2 in the first elimination round. Kazakhstan being Austria 5-0.

Let me update this again. Franze beat USA, Sweden, and the Czech Republic to make it to the finals against Canada. Really EA? Really?

Canada Wins 2013 World Championship

-Canada came away with an easy 5-2 victory over a France team that made it into the finals of the tournament despite not winning a game in the qualifying round.

-Nathan MacDonald finished the tournament with 7 goals and 1 assist in 11 total games. He was a +2, and 5 of his goals came on the PP.

(Yes in EA Sports world tournament all 8 teams from each pool make the tournament.)

-Team USA lost in the first round to France after going unbeaten in pool play. The finish was a disappointing one for the United States.

-Dominick Bellini lead all players in the tournament with 14 points in 8 games. He had 7 goals and 7 assists. He was a +12 with 1 powerplay goal.
-Teammate Ben Ortegel was second in the tournament in points with 12. He had 2 goals and 10 assists and finished a +6.

-Team Austria lost their first round game of the tournament to Kazakhstan after finishing 4th in pool play.

-Robert Miller lead the way with 7 points in 8 games. 4 goals and 3 assists and he was a -1 on the tournament. He scored 3 powerplay goals.

-Finland lost their first round game to Team Canada after finishing 6th in their pool.

-Jasper Askola lead the team in scoring with 1 goal and 7 assists. He was a -3 on the tournament.

I'll do a player interview up tomorrow. IF you are redoing this maybe I will do a story where I get fed up with Columbus and demand a trade. I want to go to Pittsburgh (my Eastern Conference Choice) so maybe do a favorable trade before you setup the season and I'll write it into my storyline where I force the GM's hand ala - Dany Heatley.

Keep up the good work, glad to get a WC Medal but up next will be the Olympics.

Buffalo Sabres win the 2013 Stanley Cup

-The Sabres beat surprise team Edmonton to win the Stanley Cup. The Oilers run to the cup showed just how crazy the playoffs in the Western Conference were this season. Only one favorite won, and that was 6 Seed Vancouver over 7 seed St. Louis in the semi-finals. Buffalo's run to the Cup took them past 6 seeded Philadelphia, 2nd seeded Tampa Bay, and 5th Seeded Washington. A sweep of Washington in the conference finals left them fresh going into the Stanley Cup finals against an Edmonton team who had just finished playing its second 7 game series in a row.

-Now we look to free agency where the 2010 draft class will be looking for new contracts with their current teams, or a fresh start somewhere new. We expect to be hearing from all 8 of these players shortly.

(Okay guys, now is when I find out just how many of you want to get in on the reboot. You can choose where you sign, or choose to sign a new contract with your current team. I will give you guys a couple of days to do this. I am looking forward to the press release/ press conference/ interview or however else you choose to announce your decision on where to go. Also if you don't have a guy in this but want one in for the reboot make sure you let me know on here and I will tell you where to post your information. The rosters will be back to the 2010/11 season if that influences your choice at all.)

For Coyotes why not Kansas City., there were original plans to move them there.

I would like to sign with the Blackhawks. If possible could you keep me as a rookie?

I'd like to keep my current stats, I'll just rework it so I got drafted earlier I guess. I want off the BJ's and would like to go to Pittsburgh.

I vote for Quebec City because if they get that new arena built, they realistically could have a relocated franchise.

Alright I think Quebec City it is, but what should the team be called?

Then I have to come up with Division alignments.

Also considering moving the Panthers.

When I come up with Divisions, it is going to be based strictly on grouping teams in 5s geographically. So you might see some divisions changed a little even though there is tradition.

ESPN - Perhaps the next biggest ESPN special since Lebron James announcing his decision to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers to join Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh down in South Beach with the Miami Heat, ESPN will broadcast live the decision of where NCAA supernova Ryan Cooper will sign in the National Hockey League.

Some background information on Cooper is that he is 19 years of age, and jumped from a super career with the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League to a Division 1 spot with the University of Michigan.

He broke scoring records in both leagues, leading to him being the most popular choice for being the #1 overall pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, but shocked the world when he opted to go to University rather than the NHL.

"My mother would probably kill me if I didn't at least try my hand at University before going to the NHL" Cooper was quoted saying when he made his decision.

But now the phenom is making his run at the NHL, and is set to reveal his decision to the world via live satellite in the studios of ESPN.

Atlanta -> Winnipeg Jets
Florida -> Quebec (Still need a team name)
Phoenix -> Seattle (Still need a team name)

Unfortunately EA decided not to include Nordiques as a name choice. And for the press conferences post them in the new thread about joining a new team.
