Despite miracle goal, Flames lose in a shootout

The Canucks came into Cowtown struggling after losing letting the Stanley Cup last season, with a poor record of 2-8-1. What better way for Vancouver than to begin rolling again in front of their rivals home crowd. Ryan Kesler put the first points on the board, giving Vancouver a short-lived lead, but Brendan Morrison put the Flames right back in it to tie the score at 1-1. The rest of the 1st and the entire 2nd period remain scoreless, and going into the 3rd the stalemate continued. The Canucks took the lead again courtesy of David Booth, and with just 26 seconds left in regulation the Canucks looked to be victorious. But with a faceoff just left of Roberto Luongo, Steven Stamkos flicked the puck out to P.K. Subban who launched a slap-shot into the net with 24 seconds on the clock. In overtime there was no goals, so the game would be settled in a shootout. Ten shooters could not get a goal, so Dan Hamhuis put it in finnally, sealing the game for the Cancucks.

The Canucks improve to 3-8-1, and the Flames fall to 6-3-1. The Flames were 3-2-1 on their home stand. The Flames face the Red Wings in Detroit next.

Flames stop skid, shut down Red Wings

After losing three games in a row the Flames were looking bad, and it didn't look like thing were going to get better as they traveled to Detroit to face the Red Wings. Both teams defense showed up, with neither team scoring for two periods. In the 3rd Calgary leap-frogged Detroit by scoring two goals in a row, scored David Moss and Olli Jokinen. The Red Wings scored a goal with a few minutes left in regulation, which proved to do nothing but rob Miikka Kiprusoff of his first shootout of the season. The buzzer sounded 2-1 Flames, much to the dismay of the large home-town crowd.

Miikka Kiprusoff had a wonderful game, saving .979% of his shots. The Flames take on the Sabres in Buffalo next game.

*Sorry, I don't feel like adding a pic, a bit tired*

Question guys, should I start showing the standings now, or in a few weeks (in game)?

Yeah, but it'll hurt without any draft picks...

Ok guys, I've been thinking. It's been to much trouble to try to keep up on two dynasties, so I'll let you guys decide, should I continue with this or my NBA 2k12 one?
