    OS Competition Committee Thread

Hey everyone, I was thinking about the possibility of implementing a thread where people could post their trade ideas and have people weigh in on it. I know when I run a franchise it's disappointing when you make a great trade (in your own mind) and then find others shoot it down saying it's unfair. It's happened to me before and basically just killed the dynasty as I really try to strive for a realistic BaGM.

With that in mind the purpose of this thread is threefold. 1. To come up with a list of players you think or untouchable for a franchise, therefore so important to a team that they would never be traded. 2. Come up with some common ground for trades for compensation. This might help make parity between everyone's franchises. So common compensation for a 90 OVR player, or a 85 OVR player. 3. Lastly, a place to discuss possible trades you'll want to make in your franchise. Whether it's to ask advice or seek approval it would be a great way to add confidence in your trades.

I'll follow up with an Untouchables post and then a Compensation post and await your feedback.

As a Sens fan I'd hope that management would have a no movement clause on Robin Lehner. The guy is the best goalie prospect we've had in years, and is our future netminder, Neil would be hard for the Sens to trade the same with Phillips I could see them being life long Senators but I guess if the trade was to good they could be moved.

Some other No Movement guys would be Datsyuk from Detroit, Crosby from Pittsburgh.

Hey Sens! I think this is a great idea!

I think the only real untouchables in Winnipeg are Andrew Ladd and Evander Kane. Ladd signed a big contract with the club to stay on as captain. I don't see any way they move Kane unless it is a huge return. Those are my thoughts.

          Cheers bud!

Are you looking for prospects or players that can step in now? Also, what kind of a player would you be looking to bring in?

Pittsburgh untouchables would be Crosby, Malkin, Letang, Fleury. Neal and Staal would be high priced.

Would Malkin ever get tired of being stuck behind Crosby on the depth chart for Center?

I would look at the real trade for Johnny O and make a similar trade. So maybe some picks a 2nd and 3rd for a 80+ Defensive Dman. Or a 2nd and a Prospect or a 3rd and a under 80 Ovr player.

Okay I'll use this as a more public forum. With the emergence of Lehner I want to trade Anderson (2 years left on his 3.2M contract). My ideal trade partner is EDM who I have a poor relationship with.

Right now my higher then Neutral trade partners are Columbus, New Jersey, Pittsburgh, Vancouver.

Who's a good depth defenseman to pickup that's under 80 overall and has a low caphit?

Believe it or not but Florida has a great young Defenseman in Nolan Yonkman, he's big 6'5 hits and is a great stay at home defenseman. Not the fastest but plays well positionally. Also take a look at Schlemko from Phoenix. A very underrated Dman.

I don't think that would be a huge issue, considering: they're both still making the same amount of money, the fans love Geno, and I think he likes playing somewhere where he is comfortable and Pittsburgh definitely has become comfortable to him. Not to mention that he's still tearing up the league here.

Depending on Anderson's OVR vs. Columbus, you could try to ship him there as an upgrade over Mason or try to sell him off to New Jersey as a stopgap for after Brodeur as they try to get a new franchise tender in there. Not sure what you're looking to receive so that's about as far as I can comment on it.
