It's really odd that Minnoesta Wild got into the playoffs and the Canucks almost got kicked out... LOL

Also weird to see Toronto and Winnipeg dominate while the Penguins struggled just as much as I did.

Detroit was also heads and shoulders above everyone else about twenty games in but had a melt down and became a middle of the pack team.

Boston Bests Vancouver Again to Hoist Stanley Cup!
Vancouver, BC - It was so nice, they wanted to do it twice as both Boston and Vancouver fought their way back to the Stanley Cup Finals but the result was the same as Boston is now your two-time defending Stanley Cup Champions.

Interestingly enough both Boston (five seed) and Vancouver (eight seed) went seven games in the first three rounds.

Vancouver eliminated the top three seeds in the Western Conference on their way back to the finals. Boston went through two teams that finished with over 100 points in Winnipeg and Toronto as well as Atlantic division winner New Jersey.

With Vancouver's win over top seed Minnesota and Tampa Bay's upset over East top seed Washington both one seeds exited the playoffs in the first round.

Boston goalie Tim Thomas secured his second straight Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP as well.

A nice read, it seems that Miller can be inconsistent. What are your plans for the offseason?

Upgrading the backup goaltender and perhaps a legitimate goal scorer for the second line.

Sabre Jochen Hecht Hanging It Up
BUFFALO, NY - The fear was there that after missing half of his sixth season with the Buffalo Sabres due to a concussion that this was the end of the road for center Jochen Hecht.

Today the German born player confirmed his NHL career is over.

Hecht had nine goals and three assists in 41 games before his injury in the 2011-2012 season.

Hecht is the only Sabre to retire but joins a long list of others around the league who are also done with their NHL playing careers.
