    The Ottawa Senators Thread

Hosted by me (again), Lost last save file.

I will be using the Ottawa Senators. It will be all-star.
I will post game scores and NHL leaders. I`m going to focus more on going into detail on the off-season, drafts, and perhaps interviews. I will play the All-Star games. And trying to play as much as I can. I will post lineups every time a trade is done. If an injury occurs, I will post who is brought up, and where he will play.

    Hope you guys enjoy this.

PS. This is the 2nd time I'm doing this. I'm still kind of new, so please post feed-back

      How We Feel.

A short not about us here in Ottawa.

Here at the Ottawa Senators, We feel like we need to make a play-off run. We need that SENS MILE back, down Elgin Street.

So, we feel the need to get some well-performing players, and possibly get rid of a couple vets, including Kuba, Gonchar and Alfie; and we feel like we need to invest in a better back-up goal tender. We love Alfredsson, but we feel like he should be on a team that can be guarantee'd a cup.

We will shuffle our lines around also to find the perfect fit.

          Re: The Ottawa Senators Thread

          Preseason:

          Ottawa @ Montreal: 5 - 0
          Starting Goalies: Anderson vs Lawson
Goals for Ottawa: Regin, Alfredsson (2), Butler, Gonchar
          Goals for Montreal: None

          Ottawa @ Boston: 4 - 5
Goals for Ottawa: Aldredsson (2), Condra, Greening
Goals for Boston: Caron, Horton, Hamill, Boychuk, Pouliot
          Starting Goalies: Anderson vs Thomas

          Buffalo @ Ottawa: 3 - 1
          Starting Goalies: Miller vs Anderson
Goals for Buffalo: Pominville, Myers, Leopold
          Goals for Ottawa: Spezza

          Toronto @ Ottawa: 5 - 4
          Starting Goalies: Gustavsson vs Anderson
Goals for Toronto: Crabb, Kessel (2), Kulemin, Phaneuf
Goals for Ottawa: Condra, Greening, Gonchar, Spezza

          Thought about preseason.

As stated earlier, we need to improve our goal-tending. Spezza lead preseason with 7 points (2 goals, 5 assists). We have completed our lines by how well the players performed. We were not impressed by O'Brian's play, we we called up Zach Smith to replace him and Konopka. Also, we feel like Filatov should spend more time improving down in Baby Sens. We have recalled Hoffman to join the Sens for the first couple games, and if he fails to produce, we will send him down and bring up Klinkhammer.

          Season Line:

Milan Michalek - Jason Spezza - Daniel Alfredsson
Colin Greening - Kyle Turris - Erik Condra
Nick Foligno - Zach Smith - Chris Neil
Mike Hoffman - Peter Regin - Bobby Butler

          Sergei Gonchar - Erik Karlsson
          Filip Kuba - Chris Phillips
          Jared Cowen - Matt Carkner

          Craig Anderson
          Alex Auld

          Trading Block:
          RW - Daniel Alfredsson - $5.260M
          D - Gilroy - $1.385M
          LW - Filatov - $1.170M

              Trade Deal!

Boston approached us with an amazing deal. They offered us LW Shawn Thronton and D Andrew Bodnarchuk for our 2012 3rd round pick. We feel like Thornton can replace Hoffman in the NHL lineup, while Bodnarchuk will add depth to our D in Baby Sens. Hoffman had 0 points in 8 games, and -2. Thornton has 1 goal and 2 assists, with a -1 in 6 AHL games.

We welcome Thornton and Bodnarchuk to our team.

Milan Michalek - Jason Spezza - Daniel Alfredsson

Like the trade with Boston. We just got a lot tougher but I'd like to see Konopka play on the 4th line instead of Regin. I'd use him a trade bait to get your pick back possibly.

Also a very underrated Defender in your system is Claesson. He went from a 72 to a 82 in 2 seasons for me. The guy is a nice shut down defenseman kind of like a smaller Hedman. Sign him and give him major minutes in Bingo until Philly, Kuba, Gonchar are ready to retire.

Also, do you have Bishop on the roster?

Yeah I have Bishop. Hes in AHL Might bring him up to NHL, or make him start AHL and bring up Lehner, and get rid of Auld.

I'll sign Claesson now. ahha, also just got rid of Da Costa to edmonton for 4th and 5th.
I thought it said 1st, aperently not =(

And as for Konopka, I'll bring him up once a C gets injured.

We have just shipped off Da Costa off to Edmonton for their 4th and 5th pick in 2012. We feel like we have way to many centers, and Da Costa wouldn't get much playing time.
We wish him the best out in Alberta.

Ottawa also signs Claesson for $0.790M and send him to baby sens.

With Anderson out, the Sens and Auld are clearly struggling. They lost 8 out of their last 10 games. Rumor has it that Auld is going to get sent off as a part of a package deal when the right player becomes available.
The Sens have a rough couple weeks ahead of them, as they try to work their way back up to #4.
