Re: Something in the Making: Lam Matteo (PES 2009)
Obertan beats everyone in the air for the opener, but Baird's sending off was punished by Mark Viduka's perfect placement.
Fulham 1-1 Newcastle United
United unable to take advantage of Baird red card
-Johnson Peoples, April 2014
--------------------------------------------------
'13 Obertan
Caution: Obertan ('30), Stefanovic ('61) Sent Off: Baird ('37) - very late and clumsy slide on Ashley Cole, resulted in the penalty which Viduka converted.
'37 Viduka (PK)
Caution: Sent Off:
Standings: Fulham (14-7-8, 49pts -- 5th)

Should have had an assist. Maybe even two if his fellow teammates would work on their finishing. Ol' Roy Hodgson opted to play Bouazza over Agbonlahor today, which turned out to be the dumb move of the weekend. Bouazza threatened only once. Matteo made a couple moves on the side of the box, shimmied past a defender and put in a picture perfect cros...only for Bouazza's volley from within the box to miss wide left. Terrible game as Matteo couldn't find the target either.

Also (re-read your last three updates carefully, and didn't see any news on it), does the United States have any games coming up? They would be fools not to take you, the top scorer in the EPL.Last edited by Whitesox; 07-10-2009, 05:19 PM.Comment

No problem! If I may suggest, I would color in the spots needed to qualify for the Euro tounaments, (UCL, UEFA cup)and the bottom three spots (relegation).

Yeah, I'm not sure what is going on with the USA team. I see the squad is set up, but Matteo hasn't been called up. There have been no games played as of yet - maybe in the summer?

Danny Murphy's return from injury was one to remember as the veteran bagged two goals, and of course Lam Matteo found the back of the net to seal the victory over the Gunners.
Fulham 6-2 Arsenal
Cottagers gun down Arsenal defense
-Johnson Peoples, April 2014
--------------------------------------------------
'1-'56 Murphy, '21 Agbonlahor, '26 Giovinco, '62 Matteo, '84 Lazaros
Caution: Danny Murphy ('67) Sent Off:
'18 Diaby, '27 Vela
Caution: Sent Off:
Standings: Fulham (15-7-8, 49pts -- 5th)
---------------------------------------------------
Murhpy is the mold. If Fulham can continue their solid performances, it will be at the foot of Danny Murphy leading the way. Lam Matteo enjoyed having a veteran in the mid-field alongside Andreasen, and today was a game that everyone seemed to benefit from.

Like I wrote in a post last week... You should definetly check if the US qualified for the World Cup, which is held after this season. You won´t get a call up till about a week prior to the start of the tournament. If they haven´t qualified... then you´re gonna have to wait another year to play I think.
Anyway, check it out, cause I´m pretty sure that they´d give Lam a call up, playing the way he does this year!Comment

I'll get a bit more into it in the offseason like you mention. Thanks.Comment

ohhh, playing my country. :P well, they'll let you know when matteo is on the roster. But yeah, it might take till a week before the championship before they'll tell you. Anyway, about 7 more matches and you'll know! Good luck for the rest of the season. Finally European football next season!
Ah yup - hate em, as I'm sure any Fulham fan does, so it was nice especially to have Danny Murphy score a couple against them as well.

Yes, I could see a 5th place finish making things interesting, however I would think the Champions League would be a bigger selling point. How far is Fullham from 4th?Comment
