    Swindon Town looking for promotion

Swindown Town will come into their friendlies with one of the youngest rosters that the nPower League (2) will see with no starter over the age of thirty, they will need to blossom into a cohesive unit in order to prove able to promote within the English football system.

In the defensive end of the pitch, goal keeper Lanzano will be in the net looking to gain some much needed experience at the position, he is mediocre at this point in his career. Defending that net, will be captain, Caddis, Flint, Devara and Kennedy. All four are average, wth Caddis and Devara beeing the best out of the group. Flint will see his usefullness at a peak with opposition corners. The 6'6 Center Back will use his height and leaping ability to keep the ball out of the net.

In the middle of the field is Ritchie, Ferry, Esajas McCormack. Ritchie was a youth sensation of sorts utilizing the football in ways to be known as a player with flair. His skill set fits on dribbling and the defensive end of the pitch. Ferry is a dual threat with an average intensity he is the perfectly average player. Hailing from Scotland, he is adept at using both feet to make plays and Swindon Town will need him to. McCormack will be in the middle, utilizing his average speed and average offensive abilities to serve as a third striker of sorts to aid the two on the starting XI. Esajas is virtually useless in the defensive side of things but his offensive abilities are deadly. He has a flair with dribbling and finishing, he is a free kick expert and he is deadly outside of the penalty box when shoting in.

Then it comes to the strikers with Connell and Abdulla, Connell will be the guy that makes the highlight reel plays of sorts for this squad. He has an excellent bend on his shots and his average shot power has proven to be difficult for opposition to react to. Abdulla at only nineteen years old will be starting with a fairly average skill set. His growth will be huge for Swindon Town, he can become fairly strong if groomed correctly.

Swindon Town seemed focused on pulling an upset in this friendly matchup but several defensive miscues would lead to their defeat. Palop, the goal tender for Sevilla was named the Man of the Match despite strong performances from Rakitic and Negredo (whom was subbed in). Sevilla had a fantastic defensive presence that tightened after two early goals and prevented Swindon many opportunities while the offense gave them their all in the first half, slowing down to a near halt in the second half. Sevilla was the clear favorite and they would dominate after some scares early in the game.

Thanks bro! It took me almost a week to figure out when offsides was called. I felt ridiculously stupid when the announcer said something about passing the defense and I finally googled it. I always figured you couldn't pass into the box and that's why it was being called. But I'm good for now.

If you want, if you could explain to me what the abbreviations on Box Score OS Generator this are. I know shots and SOG, but after that it's like a foreign language. Since most updates are just going to be stats it would be good to know what each one stands for.

Swindon ready for league fixtures after finishing 1-0-2 in friendlies

Following the squads 1-0 defeat in their final friendly which Tyler Starks opted to use his reserves and get them some gametime experience, Swidon will focus their attention on the nPower League 2 in hopes of by some miracle of achieving promotion. Starks has released his starting XI which has caused some heads to turn, opting to utilize some youth talent in their opening matchup which many consider to be a basement fixture pitting Swindon City against Shrewbury for their opening fixture. They will be home marking their home opener.

              Starting XI
(GK) Lanzano - Italy - 21 Years Old
(RB) Caddis - Scotland - 23 Years Old
(RCB) Devera - England - 24 Years Old
(LCB) Flint - England - 22 Years Old
(LB) Ritchie - England - 21 Years Old
(RM) Said - England - 18 Years Old
(RCM) Esajas - Netherlands - 26 Years Old
(LCM) Tavares - Senegal - 28 Years Old
(LM) Clark - England - 18 Years Old
(RS) McCormack - Republic of Ireland - 27 Years Old
(LS) Abdulla - Saudi Arabia - 19 Years Old *LOANEE*

Lander Gabilondo is nursing a hamstring injury otherwise he would be in the starting XI

Swindon City has loaned out seven players this far

              Five listed for transfer availability

Mid Table Obscurity For Swindon Town
              Predicted Finish: 19
              Key Player: Paul Caddis

"While no fan actively seeks mediocrity, a mid-table finish may be seen as something of an achievement this season for Swindon Town, as they look to consolidate their position in the league with consistent performances. The defense in particular will come under constant examination from opposing forwards and players such as Paul Caddis will need to be at their most alert. Forward Lander Gabilondo will hope to take the pressure off his teammates with plenty of assists and, of course, goals. In the midfield, the likes of Mickael Tavares can make a real difference to the fortunes of the side and will be crucial in the battle to avoid being dragged in for the fight in to the basement. Mark Scott has shown tremendous promise and may well get his big chance with the seniors this year." (Quoted from other news sources)

Swindon City near perfect in blowout

McCormick took full advantage of the start at the striker position, responsible for five shots on net, with two goals tied for the most in the league. This win lets Swindon City start their season at the top of the table, with their upcoming fixture to open the League Cup, they will need to keep rolling to bring about a great performance in the cup. Despite the amount of yellow cards, there were several tackles that were beautiful and kept the ball of the defensive end of the pitch. "This was a rarity. I think we have talent but to hold a team to as few shots and hold the clean sheet for as long as we did.. I'm estatic, but I don't see this as a continuing trend. Our strikers were deadly. Abdullah made a few youth mistakes (wide open infront of the net and on a rebound off the goalie would send a header over the crossbar). "Their goaltender was in bad form and it showed. We hit the net from all lengths. They need their practice, and we need to keep rolling." Spoke an excited but level headed manager.

Swindon Town is off to a quick start emerging into the top three seeming to be promoted next season, but being only three fixtures into the season it is difficult to be optimistic. They are being bit hard by the injury bug, but Tyler Starks has been fairly calm and managed to build the team around unity filling in players as they are needed. They lost in the first round of the League Cup in a 3-2 decision that was lost in the eighty-third minute on a beautiful strike. With them opening the J. Paint Trophy Tourney this weekend their match upis against a (0-0-3) Yeovil Town that is looking to be relegated after falling in a combined 2 to 7 score through the three games. It's a very winnable game for Swindon City. The following week they have a huge matchup against Cheltenham Town, who is off to a fast start currently undefeated (2-1-0). Yet Swindon Town did knock off a previously undefeated Hereford squad.

Transfer Tavares comes up huge in victory

Aug 23, 2011 - Yeovil Town vs Swindon Town
                    TEAM12SCORE

Tavares was wildly considered the best player on the team at the midfield position, after the squad acquired him early in the month. Things had been fairly quiet but he burst onto the scene in a big way with two strikes going into the net against Yeovil Town, leading Swindon Town over the nPower League 1 side. As expected he was named man of the match.

I finally found them all out. Was hard to do, mainly for FC (too many 'It means Football Club' popping up)

CR can mean Corners Received or on an off shot, Corner Goals.

                        FC = Fouls Commited
                        FS = Fouls Suffered

Anyways time for a big update.

I really wish you can review stats from old fixtures, instead of just the score.

Swindon Town saw their fast start lead into a poor September. Closing out august and September with a (1-2-2) record that only net them five points hurt them badly. Out of the top three and out of the playoff range, they will need to claw their way back in. This teams lack of depth is apparent. With a solid rotation of strikers, they are lacking in a big way in the midfield and defense. Something that will need to be adressed.

Swindon Town continues their struggles, needing all of October to pick up a win. The draws keep them in playoff and promotion talks, but this team has major issues. The injury bug has bit them hard this season but Manager Tyler Starks is running on an almost empty budget and the team is one or two more pieces from being fully competitive. This is just not their year. Eliminated from the League Cup and the J. Paint Cup, the team can focus exclusively on the league play.

The team is keeping up with contract expectations of finishing mid table, sitting on the wrong end of the midway mark. The team needs to grow more consistent. Talent wise they are capable of promotion, but their play has been erratic and the reserves are virtually non-existant. The loss of Tavares is going to be a tough one to stomach especially after losing Loanee, Abdullah to injury.
