    Summary:
    C. Stabia came ready for the resurgent Reggina side as the match between these two evenly matched sides began. We pick up late in the first half, as Reggina took control of the ball off of a counter attack. D'Alessandro tried to shoot a prayer from outside the box that deflected off of a C. Stabia dfender. The ball bounced right onto the foot of Allen. The disoriented keeper couldn't catch up to the rocket that Allen sent into the net, propelling his team to the 1-0 lead. The second half would find Killen pushing the home team forward, leaving off a pass for Adriano that would streak wide of the target. Reggina would not make the same mistake again, pushing everyone forward in a surprise maneuver by the manager late in the match. Reggina would run out the clock as the final whistle sounded for a win in their favor. Don't look now, but Reggina is beginning to look like a team to be reckoned with.

Reggina's newly stout defense + Allen in top form = probable promotion

This is getting exciting. I also like how the Valente family was written back in!

Thank you. Yeah Reggina looks good this year. The back line is a lot better with Camilleri back from loan.

Yeah I had planned to do more with the Valente's in season 2 but the season was so short so I basically took what I wanted to be a longer storyline and put it all in one post. Hopefully this season I'll be able to flesh out a good narrative since I'll have a full season to work with. Thanks again for following.

          Summary:
Goalkeeper is a fascinating position. A team could get completely outplayed, but if you have a good keeper in goal, sometimes it can be the difference between a win and a loss. GK Bressan is one of those keepers. Reggina shot an astonishing 17 shots, with 11 of those being on target. Reggina was able to abuse the Varese back line, taking their time and getting good clean looks at the net. The first goal for them came in the 20', as D'Alessandro received a feed iside from Allen that he would convert for the early goal. From that point, Bressan was a brick wall, turning away shots. It looked inevitable that Reggina would take the victory as Varese couldn't get control of possession from the aggressive home team. But, in soccer, all a team needs is one chance. Filipe would give them that chance as he would send a long ball to De Luca up the wing. Barilla would fall down and De Luca wouldn't miss his one on one with the keeper to tie the game in the 86'. It looked as if Varese would steal a point from the favored Reggina, but who else other than Allen would step up for more late game heroics. Campagnacci sprinted up the wing on the rekick and Allen found him, then cut right back towards the middle of the field. Allen would call for the pass, then spin inside, cut left, and send in a left footed bender for the game winner in the 89'. After the match, Allen could be seen running across the field to shake Bressan's hand. There was much class shown in the match by the keeper today, but in the end it is Reggina who continues their winning streak in emphatic fashion.

            Summary:
It wasn't that Vircelli played a bad game. The team was just hopelessly outmatched from the start. Reggina jumped out to an early lead when the keeper dropped an easy cross that Campagnacci would finish in the 3'. From there Reggina would control the ball, with crisp passing by Ceravolo and Hetemaj and the rest of the midfield. With this, Reggina would hold possession for 68% of the game. Allen would add a late left footed strike from outside the box after a long build up by Reggina. Reggina would go on to win 2-0, and continue their charge up the table.

The Serie B season has begun with Siena up front as expected, trying to return to Serie A after a disappointing showing there last season. Reggina is looking to make a run up to Serie A as well as they have put together some strong showings themselves. The surprises of the table so far seem to be Ascoli and Cittadella, who finished poorly last season, but have turned things around to have a fast start. Things are still early, so expect Pescara and Parma to make their presence felt as we move into the middle part of the season.

                Summary:
This game featured a high amount of action on the offensive side of the ball, with both teams taking a combined 19 shots. It was Reggina who would control the pace early as Allen would bring the ball up, then shift to Rizzo cutting towards the net. Rizzo would leave it for Ceravolo who would put the cross onto Campagnacci for the goal in a nice display of teamwork and passing by the home team. Not long after in the 15', Allen would get his own chance to shine off of a pass by Barilla into the box that he would put home for the score. This looked like another win for Reggina, until Cesena answered. Suci would have a give and go with Ceccarelli, then send a pass through to Parfait for a 23' goal. However, just before the half, Campagnacci would get his second on a lob pass from Rizzo that was put just out of the keeper's reach. The second half was completely flipped, as Succi put Cesena on his back, pressuring the Reggina back line. Cesena would finally break through in the 87', with a bouncing ground cross that would find Mezza Coli's foot and would be put in the net. It seemed like it wouldn't be enough, but Succi stole the ball from Allen and went back the other way, sending in a pass to Mezza Coli in the box. Adejo would slightly bump him for positioning, but the referee saw maliciousintent and blew the whistle. A controversial call would give Cesena the penalty. Adejo argued, earning himself a yellow card. Malonga would take the 90' penalty to tie the match. He went left, and Carvallo made the diving save knocking it away. A heartbreaking loss for Cesena for sure, but the Reggina fans rejoiced as their team would win the match and were informed that they would be taking sole control of first place with the win.

Key Matchup in the Top Half of Serie B
                  v.

The cloudy skies couldn't damper the mood for this top of the table match, as Reggina came into town to face a strong Parma side. Parma faithful were disappointed in their sides appearence in Serie B, as they no doubt felt they belonged in the highest division. Reggina faithful, on the other hand, went into the season with low expectations, but found themselves on the mountaintop. No doubt Parma would like to knock them down a peg and secure their spot back to, in their mind, their rightful place in Serie A.

The game began with a bit of fluke fortune for Reggina, as a lobbed through ball was accdiently deflected out the back line by a Parma defender, winning them a corner kick. The kick came into the box and found Camilleri's head for the opening goal of the match in the 5'.

Parma would take control of the game on the restart, with Pabon leading his side into Reggina territory. Accurate passing between Pabon and Sansone drove Parma deep into around the penalty area, as they looked for a spot to capitalize. Barilla lost his man headed to the middle, and Henriquie would receive the ball from Sansone inside the box and put away a finesse shot on the ground for the goal.

The end of the first half would see Parma with a few more chances, but a breakthrough for Reggina would happen on the counter attack. Campagnacci would send a long ball to Ceravolo up the wing. He would cross it and find Allen in the box for the diving header in the 45'. The whistle would blow, and the high scoring half would end.

The second half found Reggina trying to stand their ground by dropping their midfielders into a defensive position on the pitch. Parma easily capitalized off of this maneuver, aggressively passing the ball amongst their attackers until Sansone would hit a header that was deflected by Carvallo, only to watch the rebound put in by Biabiany in the 48'.

With their plan scrapped, Reggina had to make a move. They would regroup and push up aggressively, counter acting the same move that Parma had used on them for the earlier goal. Reggina would get a couple chances and would get another goal when Ceravolo would take a corner kick andsend it into the box. Allen was on the other in this time, nailing a header for his second goal. The game was now 3-2 in Reggina's favor.

Parma would regroup for a furious strike against Reggina. Sansone, Pabon, and Henrique all used their sumpreme skill sets to dribble through the Reggina back line. A near miss off the post by Nenis spured the counter attack by Reggina. D'Alessandro kicked a lob through ball hgih into the air and it found Allen on the other end for the 1v1 with the keeper. He wouldn't miss from there putting the game out of reach for Parma as he would get his hattrick in the 80'.

Or so we thought. On the restart, Ninis followed his earlier miss with a glorious bender sent in from who other that Sansone, to bring the game back within a goal. Reggina would try to run out the clock, but Parma was just too good, getting control of possession late for one final chance on goal. Henrique would receive the ball just outside the box for what looked like a wide open shot, but he put it way over the crossbar. The referee would sound the whistle, and Reggina would escape from Parma with the 3 points.

                    Summary:
Reggina was coming home on a high after beating a key foe in Parma, but another tough opponent would ruin that joy as Cittadella came into town. Reggina was never able to get it going, as Cittadella controlled the possession of the ball for most of the match. The first goal for Cittadella came on a fluke bouncing ball off of a deflected clearance by Adejo that bounced to Perna for the volley in the 37'. Reggina would try to respond with a chance of their own just before the half, but Allen would miss over the crossbar. The second half was more of the same as Reggina just looked a bit out of rhythm. Cittedella would push forward and convert again in the 68' with another volley, this time a bouncing strike from Maah from outside the box. Reggina wouldn't recover as Cittadella would take the match 2-0.

US National Team With Late Addition to Friendly Schedule
                        by Dave Seville

Klinsmann today announced his final spot for the United States Men's Roster. With Landon Donovan pondering his soccer future, Alvin Allen steps into the final spot. You may remember the young striker as the MVP sensation with the Chicago Fire, but recently he has been shockingly left off of the US Team roster. Rumors were that Klinsmann was too inexperienced, but it looks like his talent was just to good to pass up as we move closer to the World Cup.

Two friendlies are planned against Romania and Turkey. Both will be played away from home and in Europe. As we get closer to 2014, the roster should start to take shape and selections will unfold. It looks as if the battle for forwards will be tough, as Wondolowski, Sapong, Bruin, and Allen all seem to be vying for spots up front next to Altidore. We'll see another step in this race as we watch their performances in these friendlies, especially the 19 year old Allen.

Allen, Sapong, and Wodolowski all scored...but then got shut out by Turkey.

Should lead to some tough decision making for Klinsmann. That was Allen's chance to stand out!

Yeah we laid a huge egg against Turkey. Worse part was that I had a 1 on 1 with the keeper and sent it wide of the net.

                                Serie B Showdown: #1 v #2

                                v.

Reggina sits at the top of the table, but first place is far from comfortable as the top teams are all within a win of each other. The current #2 Pescara, seeks to wrest away control of the league from Reggina, as they travel to Stadio Oreste Granillo in Reggio. The stage was set as new rivals were prepared to go toe to toe, pun intended, on the pitch today.

The game began with neither side really asserting control as the midfield became the focal point for the action. Allen got control of the ball and pushed forward on a give and go with D'Alessandro. Allen got up just outside the penalty area and sent a lobbed pass to Ceravolo on the wing. Hecut back inside and sent in a rocket that was deflected by the keeper Pellzzoli but the ball fell right to Rizzo in front of the net, Rizzo quickly kicked it, but it was just wide! Rizzo rushed the shot and cost Reggina an easy goal.

Reggina wouldn't get another early chance, as Pescara took control of the first half from there. Quick passing became Pescara's weapon of choice, carving up the Reggina back line. Lucioni got frustrated and took down Vukusic just outside the box for the foul. Weiss would take the free kick and just miss over the crossbar.

Pescara would still push deep into Reggina territory, continually testing their side. Barilla must not have paid attention to the previous play, because he took down Vukusic in almost the same exact spot as Lucioni. The problem was, this time the referee said it was inside the box for the penalty. He would take the penalty running up to the keeper and giving a stutter step. The keeper Carvallo fell down leaving the net wide open, but Vukusic sent in a chip that was too high and grazed off the bottom crossbar and out. He got too cute on the attempt and it cost his team a goal.

Reggina would counter from here, taking the ball all the way back to the other side, pushing their people forward just before the half. Allen got a good look on net, taking a left footed shot. It would deflect off of a defender and the keeper, then bounced right back to Rizzo. Rizzo would take his time and put it into the net on the rebound for the 45' goal.

The match would resume in the second half with more of the same controlling play with each team struggling to find a rhythm and push forward. It would be Pescara who would find daylight first, with Weiss and Lund Nielsen of the midfield using a give and go lob to get into Reggina territory. Weiss would give to Vuksic, who would hit Weiss back up the corner. Camilleri tried to get over, but it was too late and Weiss would sent in an arcing cross that would find the boot of Jonathas for the volley and the goal.

Reggina would not accept a tie though, pushing forward in a rush. Ceravolo, Rizzo, and Allen would each get good looks at the next late in the game, but 2 were pushed wide and one was saved by Pellazzoli. A corner would be won, and Lucioni would go up for the header but come down in a heap. The diagnosis was grim as after the game we would find out he would be out for 8 weeks with a broken forearm.

Pescara would have one last chance in the 90', when Cascione would drive up the wing and send in a bouncing cross to Celik that he would just miss. The game ending whistle would blow, as the #1 Reggina and #2 Pescara would end in a draw. It was a well fought match between both sides, but ultimately both would leave with 1 point each.
