    Summary:
The visiting Fire looked to extend their winning ways as they came to Red Bull Arena in New Jersey to face a motivated New York squad. Things were heated early, when Allen was tackled in the box in the 18' for a penalty. He would convert this chance quickly. However, the Red Bulls answer back with a push of their own with Cooper passing to Cahill for a striker that barely sailed wide of the keeper Johnson. In the second half, the Red Bulls once again tried to equalize when Henry missed a wide open net off the post off of a Berry mistake that fell right to him. The Fire would not let that happen again, as they scored the finishes off of a Videira goal off a deflection sent in by Alex. The Fire would continue their winning streak.

      Summary:
Another road trip and another win for Klopas' squad. The fireworks were on in San Jose as the Fire managed to bring the boom, shooting an astonishing 13 shots and 7 on target. Fernandez got the festivites started with a header in the 30' off of an Allen ricochet of the keepers outstretched arm. Allen would add more in the 52', dribbling through two defenders and sending a bending finesse shot into the bottom corner. Fernandez also shot a rocket left footer from outside the box in the 62'. Gaiden and Allen would add two more meaningless goals late in the game, but this game was well decided before the whistle began, as the Fire pick up another to extend their winning streak.

            Summary:
The Fire came back home from their road stint to face a resurgent Toronto team. Possession was controlled by Toronto early as they pressed the ball around the box, missing on two chances early, one of which was off the post. Chicago would respond with a counter attack by Allen that ultimately fell short. As the second half began, Alex began to make his impression felt by putting in a beautiful ball to Pause in the 52' that was easily put past the keeper. It looked like another win for the Fire, when all of a sudden Toronto responded with a long ball from Lambe that caught the back line sleeping. Avwarikwa made sure to finish off the one on one against the keeper for the equalizer. Alex would not be denied, as the Fire rallied in the 90' to put pressure on the Toronoto side, not allowing the referee to end the game. Fernandez sent in a cross that found Alex on the back post for the sensational Fire win.

              Houston Times-Courier
              NBA All Stars' Brother Jailed
              by Chip Bentley

              HOUSTON, TX
NBA All Star Allen Allen III is known for his hip hop persona and street life glorification, but today his image and real life converge as his younger brother Alton Allen has been arrested in connection with a drug ring in the Houston area. Sources say that he has not been formally charged, however, the DEA is said to be looking into this as part of a large operation that was funneling narcotics from across the border into Texas. A spokesman for the Allen family...

"You think this is a game Alvin?" Theo roared.
I sat in Theo's office in downtown Chicago, wondering what I had done. My brother was in jail over a rash decision I made.
"Do you know, how much money this deal cost me?" Theo yelled as he paced back and forth across the room. Theo's goons were sitting to the either side of my chair, but I paid no heed as I just stared at the newspaper article in front of me. Did I refuse to go to Lazio for some sense of standing up for what is right? Did I do it to somehow stand up to Theo? Or maybe did I do it because I wanted to do it for her? As I looked across the room, I could see Quinn standing next to Theo as stoic as could be. How could she just stand there and let this happen? I knew she was a cop. Why didn't she do something?
"Alvin, let me make one thing clear," Theo said, "I own you. I own your family. I could've easily had your brother Alton killed, but instead I had him throw in jail. He'll take the fall for the bad dealings I had with my associates in Mexico. Unfortunately for him, that means they'll think its him that screwed them over."
Theo sat back down in his chair.
"Your family name is ruined, your brother is in jail, and I hold his life in my hands," he stated to me as he pulled my gaze towards him, "I suggest you don't disappoint me again."
              "Yes Theo," I mumbled.
"You will remain in Chicago, denying all other transfer requests. I will figure out what our next move is soon. Now leave." Theo turned away from me.
As I got up from the table, I looked one last time at Quinn. I caught a glimpse of sorrow on her face before she turned to Theo and began to try to comfort him. I returned to my condo, lost and despaired at what I could do for my family.

Troubled Soccer Star Prevents Fire from Making Massive Sale
                by Dave Seville

Alvin Allen has declined his sale to FC Schalke 04 of Bundesliga. Allen has recently been in the news due to the publicity surrounding his younger brother Alton and the drug and weapon charges that have been leveled against him. The MLS hasn't seen this sort of media chaos surrounding one player since Beckham first came to LA. The Chicago Fire have made it known they want nothing to do with it, but apparently their leading striker isn't willing to accept a change of scenery at this time. These sort of direct conflicts with management can't be good for the young man, and we shall have to see if the manager takes it out on the player's time on the pitch.

                  US Open Cup Quarterfinals

The Chicago Fire and DC United squared off for a riveting battle in the quarterfinals of the US Cup. The Fire began the game controlling possession, as DC had no answer for Allen early. Two clutch saves by Dykstra prevented the game from getting out of hand early. DC would respond with a rally of its own led by midfielder John Thorrington. DC would get close, but ultimately their shot would fly wide of target. Alvin Allen would continue to work his way up the field, sending another shot off the keeper that Pause would put wide on the rebound. Rolfe would also get a chance before the half that ultimately failed as well. As halftime sounded at 0-0, the Fire controlled possession a staggering 60% of the time.

The second half would prove the difference in the game, as DC United began to ramp up pressure. After a couple of early buildups by Chicago, DC counter attacked with a long ball up the wing from McDonald to Tan. Tan would pass to Thorrington on the give and go, which Tan promptly passed to Deleon. Deleon dribbled left then cut back right and sent a rocket off his right foot to the back of the net. DC led 1-0. The Fire restarted kickoff with its own panicked rally. Allen and Rolfe weren't in sync as DC controlled the ball off of their error in the second half. The Fire pressed forward with as many as they could, but they just couldn't get the ball away from DC, who took possession with their midfield and dictated tempo. The game would end with DC United winning possession 52%, which was an amazing turnaround from the first half. DC United advanced to the semis, 1-0.

                    Summary:
After a disappointing tourney loss to the DC United, the Fire were looking forward to demolishing the last place Union in their home stadium. The Union, however, would not go down without a fight. Freddy Adu put on a show early as he weaved his way through the Fire back line and found Lahoud for an early goal in the 5'. However, the Fire would answer as Allen took the kickoff through the middle of the field, finding Alex with a through ball that set up a penalty shot. Allen took the PK and put it into the net. No other goals were scored. The rest of the game was relatively sloppy, as both teams made bad mistakes that prevented either side from capitalizing and earning the valuable three points. This game would end in a draw 1-1.

                      Summary:
This game was a shooting fest. Too bad neither team could hit the broad side of a barn, with one spectacular exception. Allen would score the games lone goal as he received a pass from Alex right outside the box. Allen stopped, turned on a dime, and sent a beautiful ball out of the diving reach of the keeper on what could possibly be the goal of the year. Midfields dominated the game as each team countered back and forth with long build ups and crisp passing. The Fire would hang on for the win over the Revolution, dropping them into second to last place.

Only 10 games are left in the regular season. I'm ready to make the final push with the Fire. As you can see, the top teams seem almost set in their positions as we draw closer to the playoffs.

Gameplay is very competitive now as you can see from the statistics. I'm curious to see how these games would play out if Alvin was facing better competition. We'll see where the story kind of takes this character and go from there.

I came home after a long day of practice to once again find a visitor in my condo. Quinn sat on my couch, gazing at me with sad eyes.
"What do you want?" I yelled half-heartedly. In truth, part of me was happy to see her, but I wasn't about to let her see that. Those childish emotions have a strange way of coming out when you love someone.
She stood up and began to pace. "Alvin, I work for the DEA. We've been monitoring Theodore and his organization for quite some time," she sighed. "Its taken me a long time to get to the point where he trusts me, and I can't throw it away for the sake of our...involvement with each other."
"Well what can I do, Quinn?" I angrily said, "He's got my family!"
She strode over to me and put her hand on my shoulder. "Alvin, you're going to have to play along. I've spoken to my contact on the outside and they know your not a part of this. We need your help to find out what Theo is planning to do."
"What do you mean?" I questioned. "I'm not a cop."
"No you're not," she said, "but think about it. Why is Theo so interested in you? Yeah you can travel, but what's the catch? I have a feeling he is working on something big and needs you, thats why he didn't kill you and instead just had your brother thrown in jail." She looked in my eyes. "Alvin, you hold more power in this thing than you know. Find out what Theo wants, and I'll make sure to cover you on my end. Looks like somehow, we've become partners in this, kid."
I sat down on the couch she just vacated and put my hands to my head.
"Ugh, all I wanted to do was play soccer," I groaned.
She sat next to me and kissed my cheek. "Don't worry Alvin, you'll get through this. I'll be in touch."
She left as quickly as she came, leaving me sitting there wondering what on earth had I gotten myself into?

DC United is fighting for the last spot in the MLS playoffs. Today, the Fire came to town and put a halt to those plans. The Fire were looking for revenge from the beginning, and controlled the possession for the duration of the game. The score is deceiving, as this game was never close. In the 15', Allen pushed the ball up the wing. He cut back and left it for Rolfe in the middle, who sent a beautiful through ball to Nyarko for the finesse shot past the keeper Hamid. The Fire wouldn't look back, as a strong game from Jumper and Friedrich on the back line helped prevent the United squad from getting through. The Fire win this one easily, 1-0.
